Sitting On The Dock Of The Bay // Klaugara
The last couple days had been rough to say the least- but in Megara’s life, nights like those were like any other Monday. Her muscles still trying to loosen, the electrical tension between her nerves. Megara might not ever be able to get used to the pain done to her body in between werewolf transition, from mentally and physically one moment, to craving to kill any living thing who strikes her path the next. However, she couldn’t fight what she was. This spurts of torture at this point of her life had become expected.
Transformations were growing to be much more excruciating ever since she had began taking wolfsbane earlier in the school year. There are always pros and cons with anything you choose. Everything comes with a price- even magic these days isn’t a perfect science. The same could be said with wolfsbane. Meg was able to control her temper and her nightmares and her actions during transformations. However, she would find the pain to come at full throttle at ten times the masses as before. Mentall, she would be saved, but she would have to live through the physical torture of her transformations every full moon.
It had already been a few days after the full moon had come and gone. Megara always took a few days, sometimes a full week, to actually recover. It was hard, having to fight off her demons alone. Well, she wasn’t alone. She did have Klaus. And he was wonderful. But she never let him accompany her throughout this process. Meg wasn’t ready for him to see such an ugly side of her. So as a compromise, after her long few days, Meg would agree to meet Klaus at the dock of the Black Lake, usually on the afternoons. To let him know when she would be there, she would send an owl from the Shrieking Shack, and almost immediately, she take the right passageways to the outside, find the dock, and sit, waiting for Klaus.
Klaus wasn't normal. That much was pretty obvious just from talking to him. His past made him even less normal but people didn't know about that. To add to the abnormal he was dating a werewolf. All in all his life was beyond weird. But he liked it. More importantly he liked her. He liked her so much it hurt a lot of the time. It pained him to sit in the library twiddling his thumbs as rain pounded on the glass windows. It pained him because he knew she was out there. Maybe not in the rain but she was out their dealing with this. And him well he was just writing some stupid essay. It was ridiculous to even focus on school when there were much bigger clearer problems but as always he picked up his quill and wrote.
The worst part was waiting for the owl. At even the faintest sound of wings flapping he would flip around. The owl was almost never the one. So he packed his things and got up to leave the library. Then just like that her owl swooped in, nearly hitting him in the face. He snatched the letter and ran. Ripping it open he shoved past people and dodged the crowd of people going to dinner. He heard shouts of his name but he didn't even bother responding. He made it outside and and to the dock in no time. Not even out of breath. Benefits of being a trained assassin he thought.
He saw her sillouette as he slowed to a walk, nearing her. Meg's shoulders were hunched over, a mess of hair hiding her face, her feet dangling off the dock. Dropping his bookbag behind her he hopped down so that he too had his feet hanging off the dock. Typically Klaus was a very talkative person, in fact you couldn't get him to shut up. But times like these, he was quiet. He knew that's what she needed, she needed him there but to listen or just to sit with her. Lifting his hand he brushed he hair lightly, moving it behind her ear so he could see her face. Then he gave her a kiss on the cheek gently and smiled lightly, waiting for her to look at him.
