@ozempig
So true.
If fatphobia is your number 1 concern you should check your privilege.
Opinions on Liv Schmidt (sp?)? I personally think she’s sort of a poser(I can’t exactly find the word I want to use), she can’t even wrap her hands completely around her thighs she’s probably only posting what she does for the “clean Pilates princess” aesthetic and not actually dedicated. Like she is WAY too fat to be talking the shit she does.
I don't know who that is. I did a quick google search but I cba watching her tiktok or reading articles about her. Idk, she doesn't appear to look fat to me at all, could be even on the underweight side. Beauty standards on social media are hyperbolized, don't get wrapped up in it.
I swear even when no one is "coming" for the fat people, they are still out here acting like someone is holding a gun to their head to lose weight. The constant posting of "wow i wish this and that character are FATTER" is so insane to me. Like sure do what you want. But it seems like even if someone is working out and maybe not even trying to lose weight, just to gain muscles offends them. Good luck on your journey btw! Im about 24 pounds down and 20 more to go!
Thanks for stopping by! Remember that the last pounds are the most stubborn, so don't get discouraged if it takes a little longer than the first half.
Time and time again it seems to me that "fat issues" will always boil down to bodily autonomy. People are in charge of their own bodies. Like that's it. By all means go ahead and debate what is and isn't healthy, what is and isn't normal, what is and isn't attractive, if you feel like you need to (personally I recommend doing more enjoyable stuff with your time) - but at the end of the day, you are in charge of your body and no one else's. Fat people are fat and it's just not up to you. Regardless of how many reasons you think you can name for why they shouldn't be fat.
Problem is that bodies of "fat liberation" "people" are only getting fatter not leaner, arteries are getting more clogged, joints experience more pressure (think lower back/knees), etc etc you already know. Trend is negative. Is it really being in control? Do you feel in charge of your body? And let's assume you are in control of yourself - why are you doing things that negatively impact your health? Doesn't make sense.
My life changed so much when I realized that I will never have a productive life if I don’t lose weight. I won’t be able to be around for my husband long term, raise and play with my kids, or even enjoy activities such as walking with extra weight. I’m slowly losing weight (-20 in past year) but I appreciate stuff like yours. I appreciate you (+ others) calling out the BS.
Thank you so much for writing.
It means a lot! Congratulations on your weight loss, you have great motivation to get healthier. Since you've been on your health journey for over a year, you probably have your healthy habits in check and it's only a matter of time before you reach your goal.
statistically you're likely to become clinically overweight at some point before you die. when that happens, hope you can find the love and forgiveness for yourself that you've denied others.
Ok, thanks!
Get your blood pressure checked honey.
Like no actually, i think theres something wrong with you, healthy people dont act like u, doesnt matter if youre fat or skinny, like we can tell your brain is actively rotting. Get it checked.
Tbh would not be surprised if you have an ED and a compulsive fixation on fat people as an avoidance mechanism. Healthy people dont do what youre doin. Something is wrong, but maybe its something you can stop before it kills you? i cant imagine how awful your day to day must be for you look for people to hurt. Imagine how much better things could be?
….. Like damn i came into your asks to throw shade but now i actually just feel sad for you.
You can talk to your regular doctor about your mental health and they can give you a referral. If you dont have a gp, search for “community health clinic” and most of those take same day walk-ins. Our mental health and physical health are interconnected and a general family doctor knows that and can point you in the right direction. Texting 988 in the US can also get you connected to local resources; you dont have to be actively suicidal to use that service.
Good luck, man. I hope you feel better soon.
tldr? can't be bothered reading all that. You lost me at check your blood pressure
Fat culture is seeing how different the world is for thin people, how they're afforded more opportunities to bond with other people, and wishing not to be thin yourself really but to feel that sense of belonging that you're not allowed. ( me seeing pictures of lesbian oil wrestling and just KNOWING fat people aren't there)
fat culture is
But isn't it great being fat? You are so soft and warm and cuddly (allegedly)? You are allowed to eat ALL of the food that you want in whatever quantities you want? You have a great supportive community of fat strangers on Tumblr that always have your back and can comfort you no matter how low you fall? But perhaps there are more important things in life than hedonistic pleasure of overeating. Nah, it can't be. Surely it is the right path for you and will lead you to fulfillment and happiness down the line.
ED mention!!!
Fat culture is:
I just wish body dysmorphia wasn't always associated with skinny ppl. And the "Oh you're not really fat!! (isn't that great??)" treatment body dysmorphia gets when depicted. Theres fat ppl that dont eat at all, who exercise excessively, who struggle to even eat because "Do I even deserve this food because I'm fat?" because of body dysmorphia. Fuck, I have never even seen anyone mention fat people can have RESTRICTIVE eating disorders. Like that's an oxymoron to people. Sometimes, it feels like body image positivity (as in not specifically for fat folks like body positivity) and ED-recovery/positivity is only for skinny ppl- Sometimes, I even think I am not allowed to join ED support groups cause I'm fat now.
fat culture is
"Theres fat ppl that dont eat at all" No, that's impossible. That is such a disrespectful thing to say. Remember that there were no fat people in german death camps.
Fat culture is listening to my coworkers call themselves fat for liking to eat food, or having a little snack. I know they likely don’t mean it in a rude way but as one of the few fat people there it makes me feel self conscious.
fat culture is
World doesn't revolve around you. That is such self-centered thing to write.
If T makes you gain weight and E and antidepressants do it too, and do does enjoying good food and not being hungry all the time, then perhaps maybe sometimes joy & weight gain come hand in hand and that's good
If you think a little further with weight gain comes joint pain/back pain/diabetes/heart attack/etc/etc. So yeah. I agree it is good that you are getting that. Btw, I don't believe T is making you gain weight. You probably just eat like a pig.
I’m all about losing weight to be healthy, hell, that’s what I’m doing. I don’t even have a huge personal stake in your content since I’m pretty fit and within my BMI. What I don’t understand is why you’re so vicious about it? It doesn’t convince anyone to your side and it’s just so unnecessarily harmful.
Unless there’s some bitterness or anger I don’t know about that you’ve got going on, there’s no practical reason to be nasty to people who are overweight or obese. “I don’t like them”, “they’re ugly” or “they’re stupid” aren’t practical reasons. If those are your reasons and you’re just out here like, “yeah, I’ll be an asshole! I’m fine with that” then honestly more power to you. I just don’t get it, and am looking to understand why you take this approach, I guess.
I come here to hype myself up before hard workouts/sets and as a reminder of how good it is to be on the other side. A good analogy to tumblr is a zoo. 99% of the people on here are hopeless losers and fine with it. You don't want to end up like that. I am not doing this for others - this is what you didn't see.
man, you are one sad lil dude... get better soon 🙏🏽
Thanks 💪 I am getting better and better.
Did you just wake up from a time capsule from like 2015. Tumblr is the fat hairy bitch website what the fuck are you doing here. Go back to Instagram with your eating disorder bullshit lmao
Bear with it, fat hairy bitch. I like the way you negatively self-identify yourself lol.
Don’t you have a box of ozempic to go choke down while a diabetic who actually needs it has to go without because little miss Anna Rex has to fit into a children’s small?
Nah, I'm only in favour of obese people using it to lose weight not healthy-weight people. I am against anorexia as well as obesity. Both groups have mental problems.
my health class is the worst ever
this was from a quiz for the textbook
it's not correct, though
you cannot tell me that being fat makes you more likely to die from a train crash, or getting hit by a car, or having an infection kill you
the "ob*sity paradox" literally states that fat people are less likely to die from cancer or heart disease than thin people
as long as a person is wearing their seat belt properly, fat people survive car crashes more than thin people do
so no, it's not correct
>Being overweight makes you more likely to die in a train crash or be hit by a car. But it does? Being slimmer means you are quicker and more agile. And if we imagine two people together - one obese and one lean - and there's a speeding car trying to run them over, the lean person is more likely to dodge a car than the slow fat person. I mean, fat children hate playing tag for a reason lol.
