about.
when ozzy was nine her parents divorced and her father won primary custody of their two children as her mother was much younger and still in college.
shortly after, her father moved them to shrike heights, where he had been born and raised, and it became almost impossible to see her mother more than a couple of times a year.
ozzy always envied the happy families she saw on tv, and when she was thirteen and her father was remarrying she thought she might finally find herself in one of them.
unfortunately more disappointment came when her step sibling seemed to be quite opposed to their new family.
still craving all ozzy felt she was meant to get from a family, she began seeking it elsewhere, spending most of her time away from her home trying to find connection, support and love.
her naivety had her trusting the first group of people who were willing to take her in. this group of friends were able to promise all she needed and more, but it wasn’t as perfect as ozzy was made to believe.
truthfully ozzy fell into a bad crowd, but she became dependent on them for the friendship they provided her and she convinced herself that they were worth all of the trouble.
as time went on things got worse. ozzy stayed her naive self, and her friends quickly learnt how to abuse that. she wasn’t strong enough to stand up for herself and she didn’t have the support to allow her to grow into anyone stronger.
at first there were more pros than there were cons, but it eventually got to the point where she was in too deep and it allowed them to take everything from her until she was as good as a sentient punching bag.
they messed with her mentally and physically until the serious threat of the shrike attacks occupied their time more than what she could. ozzy took this chance to flee, but it was still hard losing all of her friends no matter how awful the group were to each other and to ozzy in particular.
now all she can do it try to rebuild herself, try to take back all that was taken from her, try to learn to trust again, and maybe even give her family another shot after giving up on them so quickly after the cold reception from her step family.
