i truly think a lot of my issue with gender is not accepting myself because i just want my family to accept and respect me, but they won’t, so it feels easier to push away being queer. also i love the trans community, but being trans has been shaped as such a negative thing that must be corrected or is only valid if you fully transition right away. i think the trans experience can be so wonderful but you have to find the right people with that mindset as well or you just dig yourself a hole of doubt and hatred. when i let myself fully relax around certain people and hone in on specific feelings, i feel at peace and accept myself. but most of the time i don’t have access to those feelings and just feel stressed about how i’m being perceived and hate myself for not wanting to use she/her or present feminine

What I feel people frequently forget about autistic special interests is that they aren't always information based. They may simply be visual or mental

Someone may have a special interest in a show, but instead of that meaning that they will talk about that show often, it may mean they watch that show extremely frequently.

Special interests are ways of regulating, not simply encyclopedias we have in our heads. Sometimes it's watching something frequently. Maybe only listening to one genre of music, maybe it's a collection, maybe it's an action. I'm tired of it only being seen as autistic people's personal encyclopedias
