has a celebrity's death ever affected you emotionally?
yes (tell me who in tags)
no
My answer is yes for Heath Ledger. I was obsessed with him when he died and it broke my little pre-teen heart 💔
Ok but like. What the fuck is there to do on the internet anymore?
Idk when I was younger, you could just go and go and find exciting new websites full of whatever cool things you wanted to explore. An overabundance of ways to occupy your time online.
Now, it’s just… Social media. That’s it. Social media and news sites. And I’m tired of social media and I’m tired of the news.
Am I just like completely inept at finding new things or has the internet just fallen apart that much with the problems of SEO and web 3.0 turning everything into a same-site prison?
Long collection of resources under the cut.

ALSO you should consider browsing Virtual Pet List and seeing if there are any pet sites you might be interested in playing. There is a whole genre of browser games right under your nose
Another one that I just found recently is this, which is a whole collection of blogs, organized by topic!
A collection of 1,966 blogs about every topic
Look guys the real internet IS STILL THERE I’m going to cry
Getting off of twitter and onto neocities has really healed me and I am so glad to see it is healing other people too ;u; let’s retreat into the self-made digital woods and away from corporate bs pls, I am so tired

The Museum of Science in Boston has been raising funds to build a statue in memorial to Leonard Nimoy (who loved the museum and grew up right near it) and I’m SHOCKED at how far they still have to go. Leonard Nimoy was an activist, a proud Jew who inspired so many other Jewish people to be proud of their heritage, and a lover of science, art, and curiosity. If anyone deserves a statue in their honor at the museum he loved, it’s him.
The Museum of Science is a wonderful organization. They support local programs, they’re partnered with the New England Aquarium, they hand out free passes all the time (I got a bunch at the Dyke March last year), they tell the truth and strive to be diverse and accessible (they let people borrow wheelchairs and ECV’s for free!) and they run on community support. Please share their fundraiser!

I understand if it’s more important to you to share fundraisers for individuals in need. It is a very noble thing to do, and I think Leonard would agree. If you care about this though, everything is appreciated, and I know he has a lot of love on this website.
They've still got a ways to go btw and there's rewards now (like space socks for $25!) so def keep sharing this!
(also, when they say "grew up near it," that means "grew up in a century-old working-class Boston neighborhood called the West End that was totally razed in the 1950s to built expensive high-rises, leaving the largely poor and immigrant families who had lived there homeless")
EXTREMELY good point. His childhood home no longer exists because of that. There's a good reason he was such a strong activist, he grew up a poor Jewish kid and knew what it was like to be vulnerable and in pain. His mother and grandmother were smuggled out of the soviet union hiding under hay bales. He took jobs selling newspapers and shining shoes as a child to help his family. He didn't want others to suffer the way his family and neighbors had to.
There are many with his generous spirit, but he was one of a kind.
Their brains are so smooth i love them
no es una poll but i'm curious, you can canonize as latino one (1) fictional character, who do you choose and which nationality/background do you give them?

hey jsyk while hellofresh is dummy expensive and i wouldn’t reccomend it if you already know how to cook (if you’re a beginner like i was when i had it for 3 months, then it’s worth it), you should know that ALL OF THEIR RECIPES are free on their website and they all fuck hard
i will say that all the cooking instructions for veggies are pretty much the same (season with salt + pepper and roast on the top oven rack at 425F), but if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.
that being said, it also introduced me to methods i wasn’t at all expecting. i would have never thought to use cream cheese in my meat sauce, and now all my friends are constantly asking me to make my special rigatoni.
happy cheffin! :)
