no bc her improvement from mini bd to jr bd is actually crazy.. i didnt really keep up with her since she won mini but her technique during improv had me floored. she seems so sweet too!

I was just telling my sister the other day Im gonna laugh if she gets tap for OPUS auditionsā¦thank you universe for giving jrs tap
what does that mean? they have seperate opus auditions? and different ages get different styles?
Yes! Following their groups competing for OPUS, the top 10 studios will be announced. All dancers in any of the top 10 studiosā opus groups must participate in the opus audition. Each age group got assigned a style at random. Minis will do an MT audition, Juniors Tap, Teens Hiphop, Seniors Contemp. They will pick 5 standouts in each room per studio to be scored. Minis and jrs are scored in class but teens and srs will be scored live onstage (radix challenge style it seems?). Then the top 10 studios will recompete groups and results are presented at gala.

something i love about p21 is how growth is actually valued. so many dancers go from 1-2 dances their first season to being in the small groups and given opportunities. love to see it
Is there a moment that made you speechless and is forever engraved in your mind? Not talking like a simple group dance that you thought was cool but something more impactful.
Mine is Cami Vorhees āKnives outā solo. When I saw it, It made me rethink of everything I knew about dance. The movement quality, musicality, storytelling and everything that goes into a magnificent dance performance. It also made me realize that some of us are dancers but others are truly artists and have something so special that you canāt teach.
Idk it change the way I looked at dance and is constantly in my mind
Maddie's disappear solo frfr left me speechless...I know her technique doesn't hold up against the very best, but her performance ability in that solo for a 9-year-old was crazy

As a UK dancer, itās always baffled me that studios in the US donāt have a dress code. Itās very rare to find a studio over here that doesnāt require uniform or all black to class.
At my studio, we have pretty much the exact same dress code as P21 (a ballet bun, black tights and Leo) only exception is hiphop/commercial class. My teacher says itās because it makes us look more professional, having a tight bun stops us from constantly fixing hair during class, its easier to see our body & lines so she can critique us better and it just makes us look more professional.
I also think itās so good that P21 are doing it based on the fact Leo & tights are much more appropriate than some of the outfits brands like TF have. Itās also much better for the kids who arenāt models for big dance brands, they probably feel better knowing they are all wearing the same things, as to me, you canāt really see much of a difference between a Ā£10 or a Ā£70 Leo.
need it to be known that i am canadian haha but yea ive always had the body suit and tights for ballet and all black for comp rehearsals, i just think the body suit and black tights for molly jazz vibes is uglyšim also just a tights hater period though
also looking professional clearly hasnt been an issue for p21 as they still do super well at comps and conventions, so im surprised to see its a requirement for convention classes
