Day 7 reflections - Paul

Although I had limited time today, I was once again impressed to see the progress students have made so far. It’s only been a week and a half, and people have gone from not knowing what to do, to having some creative presentations.  I loved the way students responded to the suggestions, rephrasing the script on the spot or noting a change for later.  I’m going to try to make it to at least part of Day 8, though there are some seminars at the Center I need to oversee.  We’ll see. I would hate to miss the talk on editing.

Day 4 - Reflections - Paul

I was sorry to have missed Day 3, even though I do not have a script to work on. I watched the videos of other students in the class bravely reciting the text about mucus, and was very impressed. It would have been scary to do, but worthwhile, I think.

Again I found the took kit discussion illluminating, and the exercise even more so. It really brought home how much you need to preplan each shot. At first working in a group was a little awkward. We each decided to work alone, then collaborate. But once we started talking, we were eventually able to create a piece that took ideas from each contributor. I enjoyed the interaction, and liked what we came up with, at least for a start.
