i love RoP so i made a sideblog for it! there's simply not enough about it, posts or memes or otherwise, in my opinion, so hopefully this will help!

i am NOT an official blog of the game! just a fan! that being said, feel free to send asks about it!!

on the wiki on the page for the player character it says birthday and gender and both are listed as 'customizable' which lead me to believe you could choose a birthday since you can choose a gender

both things are incorrect, actually, on the wiki; you cannot pick a birthday, and you do not choose a gender! you pick from one of three body types, but nothing else. because you're talking directly to people, pronouns aren't used for you, and other terms are gender neutral!

Hi! Silly question but in the wiki it says the player's birthday is decidable does this mean you can decide it in game somehow? I looked it up and it said no but a lot of information out there is pre 1.3 so I wanted to ask

hi, not a silly question! there's not a lot of info on this game, even on the wiki, so all questions are good questions!

as far as i know, player birthdays are not a thing, unfortunately. there's the Rite of Passage, which is a coming-of-age ceremony that takes place on the second day of Spring 1; it's a ceremony that seems to cover a variety of npcs with varying birthdays, so more of a general age group and/or maturity thing.

where on the wiki does it say players have birthdays? it may need to be corrected

im not dead im just. ough. ive been sick for weeks. the ear infections cleared up but technically it actually just moved deeper and became the. sinus infection. and then i caught strep. alas. the joys of being immunocompromised

FUCKING UPDATE:

it was MOLD. in the BATHROOM. ive been sick with only brief breaks for MONTHS. and we fuckin. found mold. sigh. we're getting the bathroom treated, and ive been treated with antifungals

the mold made me sick, then bc im already immunocompromised, bacterial infections moved into my upper respiratory system every time

so. im recovering! it'll still be a bit till I'm back to normal (for me), but uh. at least we are fixing it now!

That farming game meat post has me appreciating roots of pacha more now

There are goals of breeding your livestock for stats or colors that you can't get normally and doing so overruns your barns real quick if you're not careful

But you can always ask the village Hunter to butcher your livestock whenever instead of just releasing it to the wild, since there's no actual currency for "selling" animals, since it takes place in pre historical humanity.

I am a cozy gamer, and my brother gave me for Christmas a game named Roots of Patcha. I couldn't play a lot cause I'm in psychward, but from what I can tell, it's a very calm game. In comparison with Stardew Valley or Sun Haven, there's no combat. The aspects that are similar are romanceable characters and farming. The thing that doesn't appear in either of the cozy games played by me is that people from your clan get ideas. This mechanic is based on you fulfilling requests that clan members make, for example they need 10 fiber and 3 roots in return they come up with a way to ride on the backs of animals giving you speed and the ability to carry more. What I haven't done yet is unlock multiple other locations that are blocked in the start. I haven't come up with a way to unlock those yet.

this is technically a coloring sheet, not a drawing, but im the one who. drew/made the coloring sheet. so. it's colored with paint markers tho so u can't really see the lines anymore lmao

also worth noting: he saw me color this, he saw me hang it up, he knows im trans, he's been vocally supportive, and this has been up for with no issue for a couple weeks - but apparently the moment someone thinks it's too political, bossman completely loses his spine, and just. crumples his stated morals into a ball and tosses it in the trash. guess it's more important to make profit than have your employees be safe! (never mind that we're a museum and the kinds of people that would take offense aren't spending money here anyway, just looking to start shit....)

Thank you for putting the spoilers cut offs! I'm absolutely obsessed with Root of Pacha, but want to avoid any spoilers, since I only just started the game some time ago - but that means I can't really look up things about it on social media :D Except this blog, which is super helpful and has awesome vibes too :)
