āhbo samā what is that. what do you mean hbo sam. he literally drank demon blood and had horny demon blood sex with his demon girlfriend on the television screen. you think heās not hbo sam because heās on the cw well that is your mistake. moving supernatural to hbo would only bring everyone elseās insanity up to sams level. show some respect
fundamentally it comes down to how zachariah put him and dean in a boring normal life where they paid taxes and yet sam was still exactly the same. he took a crowbar to his computer because he got bored at work and was ready to quit it all to go murder kill instead. there is something wrong with him

sam and dean are the blueprint for psychosexually obsessed brothers who create intricate apocalypses that allow them to touch each other
happiest of wincest wednesdays to eve! q: do you think there are any cheesy movies that Sam or Dean watch and think, lol, lame, but *secretly* they think, oh my god, that's us?
oooh interesting question!! almost every piece of media that ive ever seen just fell out of my head but:
Butterfly Effect- this movie is like memetically bad (ashton kutcher literally blows up a woman and her baby with a STICK OF DYNAMITE in one scene. like a roadrunner cartoon), but the whole point of the movie is that the lead character keeps time traveling in order to try and change traumatic events in his life and save the woman that he loves from a hundred terrible fates. so i can see sam and dean getting thundersmashed and watching the movie in a motel because nothing else is going on and while dean is keeping a running commentary making fun of ashton kutcher for accidentally crushing his granola bar with his prosthetic hand, sam is like ššš. he feels you, ashton!!
Fox and the Hound- this is literally a story about two characters who grew up together and then get torn apart because one of them is a hunter and at the end of the film they both part ways because their lives just arenāt compatible. dean definitely comes across this movie at some point while sam is at stanford (maybe watching it out of nostalgia because he and sam saw it as kids) and ends up ugly crying. TOD AND COPPER USED TO BE BEST FRIENDS ššš
Little House on the Prarie: okay fine this isnt a movie. But this show was rerun forever and itās not implausible that dean would have boredly happened upon it every once in a while and left it on in the background while he was cleaning his weapons or something. Anyway, thereās an episode of this show where Ma gives birth to a baby boy who dies pretty soon after birth and Laura is so distraught that she runs away from home and climbs up a mountain so she can beg God to bring her brother back, even if it means she has to trade her own life to do so. And then this literal child LIES ON THE GROUND AND WAITS FOR GOD TO KILL HER because i guess little house on the prarie didnt drive in the slow lane. deanās like āwhat the FUCK is happening in this showā but heās also like āyeah thats basically me.ā
"tell them you like them, what's the worst thing that could happen" uhhh they don't like me back and i get absorbed by black goo? and then they're actually soulmates with their sibling?
John Winchesterās Death
So when John dies the doctor says his time of death was 10:41. Before John dies though he tells Dean he has to save Sam or kill him (talking about the demon blood). I looked up John 10:41 in the Bible and it says ā⦠all that John said about this man was true.ā
I thought it was a neat connection.
Sam Winchester the character of all time baybe!

Jared Padalecki is too big to fit into the TARDIS.
I'm getting back into SPN meta mode here and right now I'm kinda fixating on Sam and Dean and years and years of isolation and this internal world they built between the two of them and how they get sicker and sicker and more disconnected from the world around them because there are basically zero checks or balances after Bobby dies except for Cas who's even weirder.
And Season 8 happens and it's just this. Fact. Between them that Sam never should have moved on, never should have been able to move on, betrayed Dean by moving on (or at least trying to). And it's not just Dean, it's Sam who wants to die over the guilt of letting him down, because he betrayed Dean and the price of that betrayal should be death, not to Dean but to Sam, and they're both just caught up in this thing and no longer have any idea how fucked up they are. How fucked up it is that Dean will kill one of his best friends in cold blood to save Sam, will force Sam to live against his will if he has to, if that's what keeps Sam with him. And Sam will kill, and torture, and let people die and put friends in harm's way and endanger the universe, to save Dean, but not just to save Dean, but to prove he's willing to go that far. Because it's not just about saving him, it's about righting past wrongs, about showing Dean what he's willing to do, about proving his own worthiness in their fucked up system where devotion is measured by how much you're willing to destroy for the other person, where losing that devotion is worse than lighting the planet on fire.
And my god, they hate each other sometimes, or at least they wish they did. Dean will pull a gun on Sam, swing a hammer at Sam, beat the shit out of Sam, get Sam on his knees and tell him he needs to die to make things right. And Sam will run, and fight, and yell, and say the most hurtful things he can think of and the most hurtful things he can think of are to suggest they aren't brothers anymore and that there are things Sam wouldn't do to save him. Because in the world they've built, saying things like that is worse than swinging a hammer at your brother's head.
And then they suddenly stop and fall into each other's arms and kill more people to stay together and it's sick sick sick and Dean was horrified with himself in Season 1 because he killed a man to save Sam and Sam was afraid of becoming evil in Season 2, but after years and isolation and living in a car and an underground world where hardly anyone knows their real names let alone anything else about them, they lost touch and now, to them, this is just what brothers do.
