Mabon Information!
Mabon is the second harvest festival in the Wheel of the Year, and it is celebrated on the Autumnal Equinox. Like you might expect from a harvest festival, it’s a time to gather with loved ones and be grateful for the good things that came your way this year. Also, since the equinox is when day and night are in equal duration, for some it’s a time to reflect on that balance.
“Mabon is a time to reflect on the previous year, when we can celebrate our successes (likened to bringing in the harvest) and assess which crops, projects, or dreams didn’t come to fruition.”
•Who can celebrate Mabon?
Celebrating solstices, equinoxes, and cross-quarter days goes back centuries, although the concept of the Wheel of the Year is fairly new. That being said, we really have no right to say who can and can’t celebrate them, as long as they do so in a respectful and well-researched manner.
•How do I celebrate Mabon?
You can celebrate however feels right, but more common ways would be to decorate your altar (or your whole house!) with harvest-themed colors and objects, go apple picking/make applesauce, make a thanksgiving-esque meal with lots of fall foods, or simply take a few moments to reflect on your successes and failures this year.
•Symbolism of Mabon: Second Harvest, the Mysteries, Equality and Balance.
•Symbols of Mabon: wine, gourds, pine cones, acorns, grains, corn, apples, pomegranates, vines such as ivy, dried seeds, and horns of plenty.
•Herbs of Maybon: Acorn, benzoin, ferns, grains, honeysuckle, marigold, milkweed, myrrh, passionflower, rose, sage, solomon’s seal, tobacco, thistle, and vegetables.
•Foods of Mabon: Breads, nuts, apples, pomegranates, and vegetables such as potatoes, carrots, and onions.
•Incense of Mabon: Autumn Blend-benzoin, myrrh, and sage.
•Colors of Mabon: Red, orange, russet, maroon, brown, and gold.
•Stones of Mabon: Sapphire, lapis lazuli, and yellow agates.
•Activities of Mabon: Making wine, gathering dried herbs, plants, seeds and seed pods, walking in the woods, scattering offerings in harvested fields, offering libations to trees, adorning burial sites with leaves, acorns, and pine cones to honor those who have passed over.
•Spellworkings of Mabon: Protection, prosperity, security, and self-confidence. Also those of harmony and balance.
•Deities of Mabon: Goddesses-Modron, Morgan, Epona, Persephone, Pamona and the Muses. Gods-Mabon, Thoth, Thor, Hermes, and The Green Man.

Mabon Fall Harvest Tarot Spread
A tarot spread made for a challenger prompt from the Grimoire Project discord!
The challenge was to create (and use, thought that will have to wait until tomorrow) a tarot spread centered around Mabon.
Since it is a harvest festival, I came up with the idea to make a spread outlining your personal ‘harvest’, in the form of the outcomes and affects on your life of a change or choice you have or will make.
Below is the spread itself, as well as the explanation of what each card signifies!
(Do not repost. If you use the spread and wish to talk about it, please either directly link back to this post or do it in a reblog. Images belong to Canva, but I purchased the right to use them.)
(Totally forgot to, but rebooting this since Mabon was yesterday!)
~Tarot Readings and Sigil Making~
Hi everyone, so I am a little strapped for cash at the moment and I need to make enough money to ensure I can keep my storage locker for at least the next month, so I am sharing my tarot readings and sigil making again. I am very worried that I will lose my storage locker and that my stuff will get thrown out, so if you are able, please purchase a reading or a sigil. I take time and care with every question or request that comes my way, and your satisfaction is my priority every time!
1 Card Reading / $3
3 Card Reading / $5
5 Card Reading / $10
10 Card Reading / $15 (Anything higher than 10 cards will be an additional $1 for every card after 10)

Custom Sigils: Simple Sigil / $5 Complex Sigil / $10
Examples of Sigils: (These would each be considered Simple Sigils)
-Please Note: I take time to shuffle the cards and focus on your individual question, so there is lots of care that goes into each reading! I read with the Illuminated Ethereal Visions deck pictured above.
-If you are interested, please send me an ask with your initials, sun, and rising sign, or email me at [email protected]
-You may also call on your deities during the readings, but I will not read on matters regarding legal or medical advice or third party readings.
-For sigils, please include a simple statement or intention of what you need (ex. Confidence, I am Confident), and I will create a personal sigil just for you.
Tips and Donations are welcome in this incredibly trying time, and can be made to my PayPal or CashApp: $MagicalMerry
If you are unable to purchase a reading at this time, please reblog to pass my post along! Every little bit helps!
Disclaimer that these readings and sigils are for entertainment purposes only.

Hi, witches.
Many people made comments similar to this: “cute, but pls remember that if you aren't native american, you shouldn't be calling smoke cleanses smudging! also, you shouldn't be using white sage because it's going extinct and native peoples need white sage in order to use it for their ceremonies !! witchcraft is a beautiful thing but we need to be respectful of other cultures whilst practicing it ”which makes me very sad, because as my first language is not English, for me it does not have a different meaning, so I did not realize that with this post I was disrespecting the native communities, I’m really sorry. Also, because of my allergies, I don't usually burn anything, but if you do, please do your research so as not to damage ecosystems. ♥️
PSA:
From a Christian Witch
Witchcraft is a practice. It is not tied to any deity or religion. You do not have to worship anyone to do witchcraft.
The word witch in the Bible has been mistranslated and means pharmacist, poisoner of people or poisoner of faith, or evil doers. It became translated as witch because of a king with superstitions and a previous book on demonology that people took too seriously and ended up murdering innocent Christians and non Christians for political power and greed.
“No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.” Matthew 6:24 is about greed and hoarding money. You can not serve God and also hoard material wealth. This is not a scripture against witches as witchcraft is a practice and thus has no other master to follow. This is better directed at televangelist.
“Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live” Exodus 22:18 is about cast out evil doers from society so they no longer have the protection of the town and thus are left to God to deal with. It is heavily mistranslated and resulted in many “Good Christians” breaking the Thou Shalt Not Kill commandment, due to political gain and greed. You could even say those people that murdered “witches” were trying to serve two masters. God and wealth.
These are just the most common things thrown at me daily and I’ve grown tired repeating myself.
Hi! I want to know about different ways to create sigils. All the websites I visit just explain the merging the letters way. <3
(I found all of these by searching “making sigils” in the tumblr search bar)
There’s the constellation method that has similar first steps to the merging letters way.
There’s the letter/number wheel method that also has similar first steps to the merging letters way.
Here are a variety of sigil wheels!
You can come up with your own symbols representing certain things.
You can make them based on energy + letting it flow out of you into a certain design.
My personal method is I write down my phrase, reduce the letters and then do a mix of merging them and just letting the pencil flow until it feels right. Sometimes I just hold the phrase in my mind and make the sigil purely from energy flow. But I spent a lot of time doing sigils the letter merging way before I felt capable of doing them that way. I’d encourage you to experiment and see what method/s work best for you.

Do you know the origins of Easter? Pagans celebrate the rebirth of nature, the end of the dark season and the return of light. The Anglo-Saxon tradition mentions of the Goddess Eostre, goddess of fertility who the spirit animal is a rabbit 🐰 Blessed Easter! 🖤
I’m sorry? Eostre was first mentioned around the 8th century and Easter had been being celebrated since earliest records the 2nd so... and the Ostara didn’t come into play until the 1800s.. so.. origins of who now?
Tarot Cleansing Tips?
Hi! I’m brand new to practicing witchcraft (but I’ve been interested and sitting on the sidelines for like 15 years), and I know it’s considered bad luck but I bought myself a tarot deck and I was wondering if anyone has tips for cleansing it when it arrives? I don’t have any crystals or herbs or other supplies YET but I ordered a “witch starter kit” on etsy so I should have some stuff soon!
It’s not actually bad luck to buy yourself a tarot deck. This idea comes from a supposed tradition that held that you had to be gifted a deck, but this comes from an outdated (and xenophobic) view of the origins of tarot and its’ association with the Roma people. The cards originated as a party game and were later associated with fortune-telling and magic by 18th-century occultists, and the alleged Romani origin was tacked on later.
(The “gift” tradition is something that still gets referenced in modern books, and it’s taking a while for all of us to unlearn. Do not feel bad for not knowing this.)
The deck is purely secular, anyone can buy one, it’s not cursed or unclean if you don’t. So you’re in the clear there. They do make good gifts though.
If you want to perform a little cleansing to make the deck your own once it arrives, maybe shake off whatever vibes or energy might be hanging on from whoever held it last, a bit of sunlight or sound cleansing with bells or music will clear it right up. Then you can start to bond with the deck as you see fit.
I don’t usually cleanse my new decks, but I will take some time to rifle through them and study all the cards, read any book or guide that comes with the set, and just kind of get to know them. Sometimes a good hug is in order. And make sure you keep them somewhere safe, where they won’t get knocked about or spilled on.
Best of luck with your new cards!
You’re so caught up with the speck in the other person’s eye you can’t see the plank in your own..

tarot cliffnotes - major arcana
i am just explaining what they represent as a situation or outcome and without the influence of other cards
the fool: the answer is unknown
magician: positively, you already have you what you need. negatively, you’re being tricked/need to work something out asap
the high priestess: you’re not allowed to know
the empress: gives a feeling of things being okay but also reminds you that creativity can come painfully from the heart
the emperor: you’re dealing with a brick wall (a person or otherwise) and you’re just going to have to work out how to work around it or with it and create your own structure
the heirophant: living simply and appreciating small things. having faith day to day
the lovers: heart vs head (it’s up to you)
the chariot: you have to take the reigns now whether you like it or not but trusting your gut should help you know where to go
strength: real strength is quiet. suggests a time of perseverance and being the bigger person
the hermit: you need to work out the answer on your own. self reflect (you have possibly become out of touch with yourself) and and spend time alone. don’t ask for someone else’s opinion on the matter if you were thinking of doing so (you’re more easily led in the wrong direction at this time)
the wheel of fortune: whatever is happening has nothing to do with you and is out of your control. it’s not karma or fate or destiny it just is. if it’s good you are not being rewarded and if it’s bad you are not being punished it is just simply happening
justice: the outcome will be whatever you deserve (it will be fair). you will reap what you’ve sown
the hanged man: whatever it is, you’re looking at it wrong
death: endings
temperance: right time, right place. patience is needed because you can’t force it. you need to learn how to be calm if there is chaos around you because you are the only thing you can control
the devil: you’ve let something (or someone) enter or take over your life and it’s ruining you and probably strongly rooted itself in your identity and you must let it go. you’ve committed too much of your time to something that only consumes. (side note: rarely positive or about something light so i would take this warning seriously)
the tower: rock bottom. your foundation has crumbled and you have fallen and there’s nothing you can do about it. usually the foundation wasn’t stable to begin with. (to explain further, in serious cases i would say the querent definitely knew they were doing something wrong, like committing a heinous crime and getting caught but we all have tower moments regardless and can mean losing a job or the ending of a long term relationship for example)
the star: you don’t know the answer yet but you can trust that it’s for the best and you will be okay. this is your no. 1 sign that everything is fine and you are worrying too much
the moon: difficult/heavy emotional time
the sun: easy, light hearted time. if negative, which it is rarely, it means you are willfully blinding yourself and ignoring a problem
judgement: positively, a desperate, genuine prayer is answered. it can also mean that you are being asked to do something that you don’t want to because it’s scary but you know you need to do it.
the world: positive ending. starting anew. the energy of a yes answer
