"My semester is finally over! Now all I need is to finally have some fun. Who is with me?"
Taking the lead, Allen ran his free hand through his hair in a frustrated manner. “Well, it’s where the best coffee is, so just come with me, okay?”
“And don’t worry, I’m not a pervert.” He chuckled. “Well, not all the time anyway.”
She eyes him suspiciously as he continued to drag her to nowhere. Shouldn't she be kicking him to death right now? To tell the truth, he looked like a pervert--an extremely cocky and arrogant one--but she also doesn't feel that he's dangerous in a way.
"Just so you know, I won't hesitate beating you up in case you try anything funny," she said and glowered at his back.
“Well, if I haven’t impressed you yet, I must be doing something wrong,” Allen let out a soft chuckle as he followed the girl out.
“And who even bothers going to Starbucks? It’s for the poor. Come on, I’ll treat you to the best coffee in this planet.” As they reached the gate, Allen reached out to take her arm, stirring her to the direction he wanted to go. “Thankfully, my house’s just around the corner.”
Her eyes widened as she felt her arm suddenly tugged into the other direction. She looked at the boy in confusion and shock.
"Your house? Hey, who said I'll go with you to your house?!" she sputtered as she was dragged by the boy.
“Do you mean the coffee or my company?” Allen joked as he raised his eyebrow suggestively at her.
“Either way, I’m sure you’re going to have a good time.” He resisted the urge to wink at her, but ended up doing it anyway.
She finally let herself roll her eyes at him, turned on her heels and started walking towards the gate of the school.
"Stop being cheeky and just get on with it. I don't have all day to be charmed by you. You've got to impress me with your choice of coffee shop by the way. That liquid is my blood. I'm not easily satisfied with Starbucks."
“That’s a tough one. Do I really need to say them?” Allen gave her an uncanny smile.
He has not been asked of his reasons before. Well, to be fair, most girls were just too happy in being asked out to demand anything. “Let’s just say that you are different, and yes, that is a very cliched answer.”
She tried to suppress the very strong urge to roll her eyes at his answer.
"Well I guess cliched answers are the best I can get from you," she stood up from her seat and cocked her head at him. "So lead the way. This better be good."
“I don’t have enough reasons to yet…” Allen stopped in the middle of his sentence and pursed his lips. “Although I have some reasons why I’d like to ask you out for coffee.”
She quirked her eyebrow and stifled the amused laughter that was just about to escape from her lips. Is he trying to hit on her? She was about to come back at him with another sarcastic answer but suddenly stopped. He seemed interesting to talk to. Not like the ones easily annoyed. So why not enjoy having someone she can fight with for now? She shrugged, crossing her arms over her chest.
"If you give me good reasons why you'd like to ask me out for coffee then I might agree."
“Oh good, I’ll be the first one to friendzone you then? If I ever decide to do that, that is.“
” As of now, I don’t have any reason to…give in to your request,” he said with a light laugh.
"Oh, you don't have a reason yet? Why? Should I slap you and insult you then to finally make you give up?" she asked with a smirk.
“Geez, how much do you hate yourself that you want more than one guy friendzoning you?”
"For the record, it is not me who was friendzoned. It was another friend. If it was you though, I wouldn't mind be friendzoned as many times as you want."
“Hahahaha! You are funny, I give you that.”
“I’m Allen, by the way, and I won’t friendzone you, I swear.” He introduced himself with a wink.
She scowled at him but offered her hand anyway.
"Paige. And I'm begging you to please friendzone me now," she said, a rueful smile on her face.
If Allen had been drinking something, he would have blurted out the beverage from laughing. “Me? Friendzoned?” He raised an eyebrow at the girl as he raised his hand in his ear, pretending to have difficulties hearing her.
“What kind of girl would friendzone me?”
A laugh was forced out of her as she regarded the guy disbelievingly. Some people are just too full of themselves, aren't they?
"Oh, who? I don't know, maybe girls who don't have problems with their heads?" she said, her own eyebrow rising.
“You wouldn’t look good a jerk.” Allen laughed even louder. “But tell me you still want to be a regular girl when you start having strong feelings for someone who only sees you as a friend.”
”I was told it hurts. A lot.”
"Well, for one, I am not stupid enough--" she looked at him pointedly as she said the word. "To let myself fall for someone who I know will only look at me as a friend. Oh, and you heard it? Are you sure you aren't the one who personally experienced that? Because you totally look like someone who gets friendzoned all the time."
“Well, for starters, congratulations,” he managed to say in between laughter. “You’ve just lost whatever attractiveness you once had. In the eyes of the person who friendzoned you, you’re just a regular girl now.”
"And I have no problems when it comes to becoming a regular girl. I'd rather be a regular girl than be a jerk like some people."
“It’s the thought that some of us are so scarred up from using that word once, it’s difficult to say again.”, he said, raising an eyebrow and shaking his head, “And some of us just think we can get a girl easily by blurting it out a million times.”
"I agree with you. Men who so casually say that phrase are unfeeling I think. I'd rather for it to be not said to me at all until the man is sure," she leaned back to study him, soft smile on lips.
