its interesting how the people who say "my trauma made me funny" are never actually funny just uncomfortably self-deprecating
SZA receiving an autism diagnosis is going to be healing to so many undiagnosed girls, but especially for a group of girls who are even MORE unlikely to be diagnosed—black girls! I am so beyond proud of SZA for getting evaluated and sharing this update with us because its going to change so many lives. I barely know any celebrities who have been open about having an autism diagnosis. I havent seen anyone on tumblr post about SZA’s post which could be a problem with my curation of who i follow but i wanted to share this awesome news with my followers!
the british players are the worst for rolling around on the ground. mexico should begin kicking them into the goal
I live a very balanced life of noticing things nobody else does and not noticing the things that literally everybody notices

in this vein i think gods have to be sort of inconvenient. this obviously varies person to person but to me a god requires a great deal of molding (of oneself). how can a god make you in its image (how can you make yourself in its etc) if it doesn't have any opinions. at the end of the day your relationship with the god is always the size of the hole it occupies in your life. and carving maintaining pruning that hole is usually inconvenient as hell but variously worth it if you like that sort of thing
i am still rotating this but i think some of the point of a god in the purest sense is the act of carving oneself to accommodate something that does not carve for you. a god cannot carve itself for you in the material way that your cat or your partner will because gods move in the layer of magical meaning and not in the physical world. this blurs a little depending on the god obviously but even a very present god like a tree changes in response to you in not the same way as the really material carving of behavior in order to support yours in the way of someone who loves you
but the shape of god-ness can i think maybe be described as the quality of demanding devotion from you in a way that does not require you to allow yourself to receive devotion directly. the creation of oneself as a slate upon which gods will write, and absolution of the horror of reciprocality... i think in its perfect form the worship of a god is a kind of practice that will hone your ability to make yourself a thing that cares for the world
in some way always the gifts you receive from a god are never from the god itself but instead gifts you give yourself in the name of the god. in order to forge a relationship with a god that truly enriches your life in ways other than simple structure, in order to receive gifts from your god, you need to allow yourself to consider things in the world as gifts. you have to work intentionally to create value and wonder and awe in things that could otherwise pass you as mere scenery. the giftedness or blessingness of something is, like most magic, created not in the material moment of the thing's conception -- is not an inherent material quality of something in the world -- but instead occurs at the point of contact between something in the world and someone who is performing the action of receiving blessings and gifts. in this way the act of blessing is honestly less important to magical practice than the act of being in the mode of blessedness
and this also is the real value of gods, i think. gods in daily life provide the opportunity for one to perform the self-carving acts of worship and to hone one's skills for loving, and also the opportunity and impetus for performing the action of being blessed, the means by which one can imbue the world one moves through with beauty and meaning
God is relation, full stop. He is like reality in this regard. Consider an electron, the fundamental unit of all matter. No one has ever seen one. They really don't "exist" until we turn our attention to them. The physicist Marcelo Gleiser says that "exist" may be too strong a word to use for an electron. I take God's existence to be much the same, though for God "exist" is too weak a word. We don't know what the existence of God is. We have no idea what the word "exist" even means in the context of God. What we do know—or what I know, I should say—is that God doesn't exist until I turn my attention to him. Relation brings him into being, or, more accurately, enables his being to be perceived, experienced, shared. My attention—and the precise quality of that attention—is absolutely involved. I realize this is unorthodox at best, heretical at worst. But it is my experience of being in the world and of being with God. "The feeling remains," as Teresa of Avila says, "that God is on the journey, too."

hate how almost every portrayal of a lesbian on mainstream tv is like literally just a straight woman who dates women. the writers clearly don’t care to take Any considerations into lesbian/lgbt culture or what our lives/dating is rly like. like even apart from them all being pretty feminine conventionally attractive white women in their thirties, they are literally always the straightest women you could possibly imagine. what’s the opposite of dykery. The utter dykelessness of these women
Can someone pls reply w that comic of the women watching TV that makes sense here, I can’t find it

TikTok is a fundamentally evil app however the reason i use it is because you occasionally stumble across gems like the Chinese power transformer manufacturer who posts kawaii edits of their power transformers

i think foraging fills me w like a very warm contentment and sense of wellbeing that not very many other things do. i simply love to wander off and find all the plants and fruits and such and eat them, or take them home to make all my loved ones eat them. and then i get to know all the plants. it is so fun to walk in a place and know everyones names and how they can care for me if i need it
also extremely underrated is re-cultivating the joyful curiosity u have when ur a kid and you ask questions about every single thing you see, especially the two most important questions "what is that?" and "can i eat it?". it turns out you CAN eat most things and it is delightful and makes me appreciate the world in a more specific and familiar way
