hiiii call me whatever you want while i’m thinking of a pseudonym for this blog.

i like sad middle aged men and i like it when they get hurt. i like both physical and psychological/emotional whump, weird relationships between whumpees and their whumpers (and caretakers), hurt/comfort and hurt/no comfort.

some favorite themes of mine are drugs/intoxication, medical whump, non-bbu pet whump, illness, gaslighting & manipulation, and whumpers who instill complex feelings in their whumpees. so you’ll see a lot of that here.

i write a little, so you might see the occasional original post if i feel up to it. mostly i ramble in the tags of my reblogs. asks and dms are open; i love to chat!

characters apologizing for things they have no control over. mumbling sorry while losing consciousness. feeling ashamed of a bleeding wound. embarrassed when an infection sets in. deep seated feverish guilt when they need to be carried, when their legs won't keep them upright anymore and they lean heavy on a friend, slurring apologies..........

“Whumpee, you with me?” whumper asks. There is no concern in their voice- they just need to know if they can continue. (They just need to be sure whumpee is feeling it.)

“...Yeah,” whumpee replies after a long moment. “I'm here. I'm still here.”

Whumper forcefully, physically uncurling whumpee from their little protective ball.

Whumper who comes to a realization.

When they grab Whumpee roughly — yank them around, shove them carelessly where they want them to be — Whumpee scowls. Snaps at them. Much more defiance than fear.

But when Whumper touches them softly…. lets their hands linger just a beat longer…..trails light fingers over Whumpee’s skin….that’s when they see the fear. The way Whumpee’s whole body tenses up as if preparing for something.

So Whumper decides to make some adjustments in how they handle their Whumpee from now on.

Compliant whumpees ily!!!!

Whumpee who genuinely believes that theyre property or sub-human or that they deserve it or that whumper's right. Whumpee that sees no point in struggling because they've learned what kind of situation they are in. Whumpee who wants to be compliant and obedient but can't bring themself to achieve the impossible results whumper wants from them. Whumpee who has complicated feelings about their position and doesn't try to run or anything but, even if theyll still obey at the end of the day, have an attitude that can't just easily be surpassed. Whumpee who is trying to redeem themselves for a percieved fault. Whumpee who doesn't like this but doesn't recognize it. Whumpee who doesn't like it but does recognize the feeling. They think theyre in the wrong for feeling the dread. Whumpee who sees it as justified because, okay—they really were pushing it with that attitude, weren't they? This wouldn't happen if they'd just try harder. They'll just be better next time. It's not whumper's fault, really; that's just how things work. Whumpee is the one in the wrong. Whumpee who needs to endure this for the sake of something else. Whumpee who is in this due to self-sacrifice and need to force themselves to comply. Whumpee to whom this has always been everything that's ever been. Whumpee who thinks it's all unfair but can't actually bring themselves to do something about it, who thinks this is the only way things can even be, for them. Do you see the vision.

#“pliant” has always been a fav of mine #like… allowing themselves to be put in whatever position and situation whumper desires #so good #“under someone’s thumb” is also a great one because it highlights the relationship between whumpee and whumper #a reminder that it’s not just an inherent character trait of whumpee’s that they’re so compliant #it’s because of whumper #whumper has such power over them that they can influence their personality and behavior #it’s about the power imbalance and how it changes people

Extra bedding that's there for comfort, such as double pillows, soft ones or plushies

Clothing in bright colors

A door that locks from the inside

Clothing that favours comfort over functionality/protection

Pets

Floor time

Books

Pain medicine

Lazy days where you can just take it slow instead of being always at a strict and unforgiving schedule for maximum efficiency always

Hugs

Personal possessions that theyre given full ownership of. Nobody can touch their stuff without their permission and that's. That's never been a thing before.

Being able to leave their living space a little messy. There is no handler to come in for inspection and beat them bloody for not doing their bed

Sitting down in soft, padded couches instead of having to stay on their feet lest be considered lazy for "slacking off on duty"

Choosing how they want to be called

Consent. People only touch them if they ask first, and if they say yes.

Having their "no" respected.

Having their opinion on things considered and taken seriously in general

Being taken care of when sick or having a bad day

Being held and soothed through a difficult moment instead of yelled at and told to get it together

Having money of their own. Financial agency to buy things for themselves, without having to ask anyone else, without having to depend on caretaker for gifts. It's their call. They can get whatever they want

Whumper takes their time, has planned in hours to reduce their usually rather stoic whumpee to a crying, trembling mess.

When whumper leaves them, whumpee, exhausted, thinks it's finally over. But whumper has only gone to open the door. The guests are here... now the party can begin.

whumpee with their sense of self so utterly destroyed, sliced out of them cleanly, that they stop perceiving themselves as human. they are just something lesser, whether it be a slave or a pet or a servant. once they get out, they'll look at the “people” dining without having to wait for permission, making mistakes without getting beaten nearly to death, receiving medication free of other substances, and think: “of course, that's because they're they and I'm me,” like that's a slur and something shameful. and so the whumpee remains on edge and confused and terrified of all of these favours, as they've come to think of them, so afraid of the tally that racks up and up and up, deathly afraid of the dues they'll have to pay.

Sees someone pick up a long thin object, immediately winces and takes a rigid, chin-up posture like a soldier in line

Or (if severely triggered) yanks off their shirt in one fluid motion, turns and faces the wall, bracing their hands against it for support

If they see a weapon they watch it, and whoever has it, like a hawk

Trying to figure out who's in charge no matter what situation they're in. Using a formal tone with them even if they're TRYING to just be normal

Tensing up around people that act/speak like whumper. They don't want to embarrass themselves by flinching every five seconds so they're just going to flex every muscle until they are gone.

Self aware of their stiff posture. Sitting down and forcing themselves to relax into a couch and put on a fake smile

Caretaker seeing their scars and covering their mouth.

In that event, whumpee flushing and covering them because they're still ashamed of "earning" the punishments that left those marks

Or if they're from combat, smiling and telling the story proudly because they made their owner proud that day and they weren't punished

Trying to explain what happened and then suddenly going quiet

Answering questions like they're being interrogated by a superior

Refusing to speak because they're flashing back to a time they were interrogated in an enemy compound

something to consider once whumpee is back home from being kidnapped: the violation of the whole investigation into their disappearance.

not just the media/public angle of course, but the fact that police and other investigators have combed through their texts, emails, even their literal dirty laundry - and possibly mentioned things to their families that they really didn't want getting out.

and now that they're home, and trying to recover ... they have to deal with all that, too.
