{Hiatus}

Yusuke Kitagawa Persona 5 A painter, the pupil of Madarame who proved dishonest with his intentions. Wielding the power of the Emperor arcana, with Goemon (later Kamu Susan-o) he fights alongside the trickster and his friends in the Metaverse, changing the hearts of those with distorted desires. Eccentric, eloquent, and passionate, Yusuke is no ordinary 17 year old high school student. Due to his upbringing, he can be rather blunt and strange socially; a personality that takes some getting used to. A loyal friend, he fights to the end for his cause and speaks his mind whenever he pleases. So long as he is surrounded by what he deems pleasing to his aesthetics, Yusuke is an absolute peach and gains inspiration no matter where he goes.

Hiatus.

ooc: Honestly, I know I just made this blog, but it really isn’t happening for me. I think I did it more on a whim than I thought. I couldn’t stop thinking about it, about wanting to make it, and even though I have it (and am still quite proud of it) I’m just not connecting with Yusuke like I thought. 

For me, if I don’t have that true connection with a character, I just can’t do it. It was easy to write replies for the most part, I can write as Yusuke well (I think, anyway) but I didn’t have that special feeling while I was doing it. It felt more empty than I realized, but I didn’t want to think of it that way. I tried really hard, but it just isn’t quite working out. I think it’s a feeling similar to wanting to see your character build relationships, being really pumped for it, but I’m feeling rather.. numb. (And it has nothing to do with you all, I’ve absolutely adored every single one of you and I hope you don’t think badly of me because of this.)

That being said, however, I rarely ever delete rp blogs. And who knows, there’s always a chance that I do connect with Yusuke in the future and want to rp him again, but for now, I have to put him up on hiatus. I fully understand if you want to unfollow the blog, here’s a total invitation for you to do so. 

On the plus side, I do have an OC I like (and I know a few of you are over there.) If you want to keep rping with me, and have an interest in a female NEXT from a main Tiger & Bunny universe, come on over to her and I’ll be there. I actually have a Persona 5 verse too (which I admittedly put more effort into than needed, I think.)

ooc: I love this boy v much and i’m going to do my best to flesh him out more tonight, after I do some dishes because my sink currently looks like a dish tornado ran through. Maybe do some memes, or something, but... like this if you’d be interested in a proper thread with the boy, with a better fleshed out relationship and I’ll try to get back to you on it if I’m able to collect myself. 

I really want to keep this blog, I do adore him, so I’m going to do my best to create that connection with him.

ooc: Just some personal feelings under the cut, nothing bad!

I’m having a really hard time connecting with Yusuke. It’s easy to write replies for him, I think I’ve got his personality down, but I don’t have that connection with him like.. I really want to see him do things, plot things, etc. I think I need to take more time to make him mine rather than just general canon Yusuke and maybe I’ll feel better. So that’ll be a little work in progress project.

Is what he’s written on the card in black lettering, against a red background. With black ink and using a very fine tipped brush, he draw a sketch of his friend with that signature thief smirk, and a pop of color in his eyes.

The artist presents Haru with a single sided card, meant to be hung up if she so chooses. It’s decorated with pink and purple, a small watercolor painting of Haru’s mask and hat found in her Phantom Thieves outfit. Beside it, in flawless calligraphy, he’d written: 

          “Happy Valentine’s Day, Haru Okumura. A woman of woman, thief of beauty.I hope today treats you well.”

"Happy valentine's day Yusuke!" She gave him a bag of chocolate treats. "Here, for you. I figured you'd like something nice to snack on so I bought some gormet dark chocolate."

          “This is a wonderful Valentine’s gift, Makoto. Thank you very much.” 

Immediately he pops a chocolate into his mouth, closing his eyes. The taste spreads over his tongue and his eyes close, a soft exhale escaping once he’s swallowed. 

           “They’re delicious. I enjoy the taste of dark chocolate, the slight bitterness missing from milk chocolate. It’s decadent, but still manages to satisfy my sweet tooth. This was very thoughtful of you.. allow me to sketch you something as a thank you Valentine’s gift, hm?” 

Sketch something, because it’s what he loves to do, figures Makoto would appreciate a heartfelt gift like that.... and of course, he’s broke.

Makoto was relieved to hear that. If her dear friend wanted a large to-do, she would have tried to make it happen for him without a second thought. But a small gathering of close friends would be much, much easier to manage.

And, in all likelihood, more enjoyable. Especially if he wanted to go someplace like the planetarium. 

“I think that sounds perfect.” It might not be a traditional party, but… Well, in Makoto’s experience, nothing about Yusuke was traditional. “I haven’t been to the planetarium in years. Oh, and I’ll be paying for your admission, as part of your gift from me.”

          “Oh? That’s very kind of you, Makoto. Expected, I suppose, given the situation, but appreciated none the less.” 

While he may not be used to having friends on his birthday, even he knew it was fairly customary to be treated on such a day. Madarame had done so for him, always treating him to a gift and a cake... one of the many things the man had done that placed rose colored glasses over Yusuke’s eyes and kept him from going against his sensei. It’s a memory he chooses to push out of his mind.

           “Ah, I picture today will be a lovely occasion... my mind is already wandering towards new ideas.” Fingers come up to capture Makoto in a makeshift picture frame, one eyes closes as he shifts from her face, over towards a vending machine that he noticed needed to be refilled. The simplest things always caught his eye. 

          “Is there anything I should be doing today that’s typical for a birthday?”
