I’ve seen multiple tiktoks of kids being like i’m closeted in a homophobic family😚 and they always show their face like do nottttt do that bc with how popular tiktok is it’s so much easier for someone who knows you and your family irl to come across your videos and text your parents like hey isn’t this your kid like my god one day someone will literally be murdered by their parents for them discovering they’re gay through their tiktok like people like to think people aren’t that extreme anymore but there are some families who truly are like at best they will disown their own child or smash their phone or something but one day the worst case scenario is really gonna happen like if your parents are extremely bigoted do nottt run to tiktok with a video of your face making jokes about how your extremely homophobic family is living with a gay child and they don’t even know it i don’t mean to fearmonger but this does have genuine real life consequences that no child deserves we need to bring back the whole the internet is not your friend mentality in like full extreme force i get wanting to talk about your homophobic family but my god do it from like a social media platform where you can be completely faceless and unknowable

The thing is that whether Britney is genuinely impaired or not, legally she is disabled, and whether the impairments that she's claimed to have are real or not, the law has been treating her and will continue to treat her as disabled until something changes legally.

This is how disabled people are often treated (keeping of course the distances of her celebrity profile and massive estate). She shouldn't have to not be legally disabled in order to have her civil rights guaranteed.

This is why disabled activists keep telling you guys to stop trying so hard to distance yourselves from disabled people. Someone can just decide one day to put on paper that you're disabled regardless of how true that actually is and if a judge says okay to that then you'll be just as fucked as the next disabled person.

The trick isn't in trying to separate yourself from us, it's in making sure that people get to retain their autonomy regardless of disability status.

Disabled rights are YOUR rights either right now or in the future.
