It wasn’t what she had planned her answer would be. In no shape or form she’d want Paresu to be apologizing over her unprepared reaction. She had hoped this would have been a better situation, or she could have reacted in a better way.
“No! That’s not what I meant at all! I’m just…”
Her heart began beating faster the longer she thought of a good answer. Usually she would be the one to confess first, not the other way around. Along with that, it’s been a while she had been in a relationship like that.
Actions speak louder than words, as Marron believed. If there was no way she could say more, she could definitely show it to her how much she loves her all this time.
A sudden hug was given, hoping they would tell Paresu she felt the same way in regards to her. Gathering her words to finish her sentence, her cheeks reddened as she placed her head over her shoulder.
“…I’m just so glad.”
“Ah?!” She was momentarily startled by the gesture. Paresu blinked, before her smile widened. She wrapped her arms around Marron as well, squeezing her tight. “R-Really?!”
Come on, say something smarter!
“Marron...I-I’m glad, too, I mean,” She began to laugh, in that melodic tone she was known for. “I thought, oh jeez, I thought such sudden stupid words like that would get me laughed out of here or...even ruin our friendship, heh.”
Her cheeks burned pink. Paresu felt a little silly, but her happiness was enough for her not to care. She hadn’t felt that happy since...well, before her and Goten broke up. With Marron, that light feeling of joy came so easily.
After mustering up some courage, she kissed Marron’s cheek and smiled. “How about we get some ice cream, hm?”
