My current obsession is K-Pop Demon Hunters, but there are a lot of other interests that pop up from time to time: anime, superheroes, video games, Star Trek, Star Wars... a whole grab bag of nerdy interests.
Thank you for following, and I hope you stick around!
you don’t realize how important lunch is until you’re wandering around thinking about how unloveable and untalented and uniquely cursed you are and then it’s 4pm and you finally eat lunch and you go Oh. oh right.
Hindsight by @figbignewton gets a lot of love around here and it is so well deserved. What soft! What gay!
Truly never fails to make me smile and uplift my day.
So! Of course I've been itching to draw a scene from it! And here we go! The famed pre-show sleepover selfie from chapter 9. Patterns and all.
If you haven't read Hindsight yet...go!

“Oh, I know!” Zoey said, mischief lighting up her face. “Let’s take a new photo. One with Mira’s big girl cheeks.”
“With my fucking what?”
Rumi looked like she might be on the verge of tears from holding in her laughter. She took a deep breath, and to Mira’s surprise she nodded. “This is just for us. No one else,” she warned before she slung an arm around a giggling Zoey’s shoulders and dragged her over. Mira braced herself for the same rough treatment, hoping that her shoulder wouldn’t burn too badly. Instead, Rumi carefully wrapped her hand around Mira’s waist to pull her close.
“We’ve come so far since then. I want to keep moving forward with you,” Rumi said, painfully sincere, and Mira couldn’t help but stare at the both of them, grateful they could have this moment.
The sound of a digitized shutter rang out unexpectedly. Mira had no idea what kind of dazed look might be on her face as Zoey snapped the picture, but it probably wasn’t flattering. She peered over Rumi’s shoulder, and instead of cringing, she was filled with all kinds of mushy feelings at the sight.
Derpy sprawled across the couch in the background, and Zoey’s ability to include him so effortlessly was honestly impressive. Zoey looked happier than Mira had seen her in a long time with Rumi’s patterned arm thrown about her shoulders and her own hand making bunny ears behind Mira's head. Zoey's grin was wide and self-satisfied and matched by eyes that seemed to sparkle under the warm fairy lights. Rumi beamed up from the photo, slotted against Mira's side like a puzzle piece. Her hair spilled over her forehead and shoulders, framing her face and highlighting her effortless beauty. And Mira? A blush dusted her cheeks and a soft smile played at her lips as she looked at the two girls who formed her world instead of the camera lens. Mira barely recognized the expression on her own face.
God, she was such a sap. The picture was adorable.
Chapter 20 of What is Love? (it's you and me and her. it's us.) is officially up!!
Genuinely sorry about that cliffhanger guys!
Chapter summary: The girls officially move to Seoul
Chapter snippet below the break!
Zoey all but ran down the hall. There had to be another bathroom here somewhere. Aha! There was! She repeated the same routine with the same result. Maybe there was a third bathroom? But there wasn’t a third bathroom. At least not on this floor. Every minute that ticked by filled Zoey with more dread. Where was Rumi?
Zoey spotted a stairwell. She should check the other floors. Zoey’s pocket buzzed. She pulled it out of her pocket as she climbed the stairs. She would check every bathroom in this building if she had to. Mira’s contact lit up the screen. She pressed the answer button.
“Hello? Mira?”
“Did you find her?”
“Not yet. I checked both the bathrooms on the main floor. I’m checking the other floors now.”
“Be quick. You’ve been gone a while already.”
“I know, I know!”
Zoey kept the phone pressed to her ear for a second. A thought had come to her mind.
“Do you think we should call Celine?”
Silence on the other end. She could practically see the way Mira’s brows drew together at the suggestion.
“I’m not sure.”
“I’m worried about her, Mira.”
“Me too.” Zoey could hear Mira sigh. She imagined her wiping a hand across her face or running a hand through her hair. “Tell you what. If you’re not back here with Rumi in ten minutes I’m calling her and telling her everything.”
Zoey sucked in a breath. “Everything?”
“Everything.”
“Ok. Sounds like a plan.”
“Pretty crappy plan.”
“Pretty crappy situation.”
That got a chuckle out of Mira.
“Ok. Call me when you find her.”
“I will.”
The line went dead. Zoey stuffed her phone back in her pocket. She had checked one more bathroom in the time it took to call Mira. She had three more to go. Only the bottom floor had two bathrooms, the remaining floors only had one. Zoey was glad for all the leg training she had done over the months or the stairs would be killing her more than they already were.
Zoey stopped in front of the last bathroom. She had three minutes left of their self imposed deadline. She and Rumi had missed out on almost half their dance practice. Celine was definitely going to tear them a new one. Especially if they didn’t come clean.
Zoey pushed open the final door. She repeated her call of Rumi’s name. Her heart dropped when it was once again met with silence.
Happy birthday to my Mira from What is Love? (it’s you and me and her. it’s us.)!!
Enjoy this sketch which is inspired by this snippet from chapter 17 Cry For Me which features Mira’s birthday. (Which of course…is also mine hehe)

“What was that all about?”
“You’ll see,” Rumi said, a mischievous smile tugging at her lips.
Mira set to work chopping up vegetables while Rumi started frying something on the stove. Delicious smells floated up along with the steam making Mira’s stomach growl even more. Rumi shot her a teasing look almost every time it happened. Halfway through the cooking process Rumi handed Mira half of one of the dumplings she had finished frying up. She kept the other half to herself and together they ate the dumpling and together they regretted sticking something still so hot in their mouths. Once the little lump of molten lava had been chased down by a glass of water and a prayer, Mira started to laugh.
“Oh my gosh Rumi, you should’ve seen your face!” Mira clutched at her side as she leaned back against the counter.
“Well, you should’ve seen yours!” Rumi pouted but there was laughter in her eyes.
They finished up the meal. Zoey had already set the table. Mira found their little rhythm comforting. It was how she always imagined what a real home would be like.
“Ok Mira,” Zoey said, “I love you but I know this is gonna hurt so forgive me if I shout expletives in your direction once this starts.”
Mira chuckled. “Oh come on, it can’t be that bad. You’re half Korean, spice is in your blood.”
“I dunno, Mira,” Rumi said, staring at her own bowl like it was about to burst into flames. “I’m full Korean and even I can’t handle your level of spice.”
“You’ll be fine. And besides, we got the dumplings. Those aren’t spicy.”
Mira thought she heard Rumi mutter, “No, but they still burn like hell,” underneath her breath. She chuckled softly.
Mira picked up her chopsticks and scooped up a bite of food. Tteokbokki was her favorite. She didn’t know how they knew it but it was her favorite. It was simple, but there was a food cart near her school that made the best tteokbokki that she would get whenever she had extra cash. She wasn’t able to get it often, but when she did it never failed to make a bad day better. And oh it was deliciously spicy! Tears sprang to her eyes and her tongue tingled, but it was so good.
Zoey lasted all of three bites (two more than Mira thought she would) before beelining it to the fridge where she downed half the milk jug.
“Geez Mira! I can’t feel my tongue and you’re just sitting there eating it like it’s nothing?”
Mira shrugged as she took another bite. “Tastes good.”
Zoey piled her plate high with dumplings. Mira was glad that Rumi had thought to add dumplings to the menu.
Rumi lasted a little longer but even she couldn’t finish her bowl. Tears escaped from the corner of her eyes as she pushed her bowl away from her. “I think I agree with Zoey here, this is really spicy Mira!”
Mira ended up eating the entirety of the rest of Zoey and Rumi’s meals. She was probably going to feel it in the morning, but for now her heart and stomach were content.
By the time they finished cleaning up the meal the sun was just beginning to set. Mira felt a pang of sadness that the day would soon come to a close.
“So, what’s next?” Mira asked.
“You up for presents?” Zoey asked.
“Presents?” Wasn’t this whole thing a present? They didn’t actually get her gifts. Did they?
“Well, duh, it’s your birthday of course we both got you presents!”l
“You didn’t have to.”
“But we wanted to,” Rumi said.
And that pretty much well broke her heart. These two perfect strangers. These two sweet, weird, girls that barely knew her had gotten her gifts. Because they wanted to.
I've only seen it mentioned like once or twice. Bobby's worst fear/shame is losing Huntrix and being alone. This man loves them so much. Imagine how horrible he felt when they fought on stage.
Well….I’ve been experimenting with a new art style! This piece is inspired by @paladin-sioni’s fic Scars and Rehabilitation! Gotta love some short haired Rumi! 💜
Em has blessed me with such a wonderful piece of short-haired Rumi!
Alright nerds, show her some appreciation and go read or catch up on her current pre-debut Huntrix fic "What is Love? (It's you and me and her. It's us)" It's such a wonderful read and so worth your time!
DO IT or Santa will come down the chimney after Halloween and eat all your Halloween candy.
