So every year my friends and I do silly things on JULY 24TH because it's the anniversary of the description of Kulindadromeus!

We call it Kulinday!

I queue up ALL The Kulindadromeus art!

Usually, we stream us playing paleontology games and talking about science!

Unfortunately, half of us aren't free this 24th

SO

It’s Fossil Friday, so soar into the weekend with Archaeopteryx! When this dinosaur was first described in 1861, it caused a sensation. Discovered shortly after Charles Darwin proposed the theory of evolution by means of natural selection, Archaeopteryx provided an example of evolution in action—a fossil that showed the transition between reptiles and birds. The first Archaeopteryx fossils ever found included exquisitely preserved skeletons with clear imprints of wings and feathers, but also teeth and a bony tail. Today, scientists think Archaeopteryx wasn’t able to fly very well, but the species still represents a turning point in paleontologists’ understanding of the relationship between ancient dinosaurs and modern birds in the design of both its body and brain. quetzalcoatlus is one of the most beautiful and awe-striking animals to ever exist. i wouldn’t call it scary, though it would probably be scary to be chased by a galloping giraffe dragon. it’s just incredible how evolution has twisted this living thing into such an insane shape. its wings are so huge and beautifully constructed. the single digit wing membrane connecting to the ankles on its weird flat feet. i love that it walks around on all fours. i wish i could see one fly
