Ninjago Darkley’s Au-

The ninja are sent by Sensei Wu to Darkley’s Boarding School for Bad Kids in order to break down the evil institution from the inside, as well as check on the well-being of his nephew, Lloyd Garmadon. However, they have to keep their powers and statuses as ninja a secret, as well as deal with Lloyd’s overprotective roommate (Morro) and Lloyd’s crazy crush (the Jade princess, Harumi)

Prone to Decay Au-

A human child named Morro stumbles into a haunted graveyard which has ghosts that typically kills anyone who enters it to increase their troops. This time, the child gets raised while still being alive, leading to him being the perfect lure for other living beings. He’s watched over by Archer (a cold, skilled warrior), Wrayth (an excitable friend to Morro as he gets older in this au), Bansha (either serious or snarky, no inbetween) and Ghoultar (a ghost who never should have been cursed in the first place). Throughout his life, Morro keeps meeting Lloyd Garmadon, who tries convincing him that the cursed are not what a true family is like.

DN Superhero au placeholder name til I think of something to call it-

A parallel universe to the Death Note storyline, but instead of there being death notes and shinigami, there are super powers people are born with/get upon becoming sixteen (kodama) and corrupted powers who hated their original hosts, ran away from them and now make it their life purpose to corrupt/destroy any new host they latch onto (onibi). We got morally questionable L in it for the love of the game, an emotional wreck of a teenager Light Yagami who is in a constant state of crying out for help yet never receiving it, a not two dimensional Misa, a silly clone who’s collected/collecting traumas while going through identity crises and much more!

I made a fun little discovery today y’all. The context is that while I really like the L and Light truly being friends belief and headcanon and all that, as well as adapting that into the stories I like making, when it comes to the bare bones actual manga, the author said they weren’t. And I found a song that I believe perfectly encapsulates that down here, “No children” by The Mountain Goats.

I imagine the first verse as L’s part, and when it’s at the end of the refrain, he says the “I hope you die” and Light interrupts with the “I hope we both die”. Second verse is Light, and then those same phrases at the end are swapped who says them. 

I think it really has their hatred for each other in it. And today, I found out by the app I listen to music on that the song’s release was November 5. You know. L’s death day. It’s perfect, especially since I imagine the two of them on death’s door at the end of the song, with L tugging on the handcuff chain during the “you’re coming down with me” lyric and Light finally breaks his mask of calmness and looks anxious about dying. Perfection.

Here’s Misa’s design for my hero/villain au that I have yet to give a name. Her alias is Venus for a few reasons: to not be referred to as “the second Kira”, named after the goddess of love, it ties into her corrupted power, and she lures you in like a Venus fly trap :]

A bit more details below the cut.

Just for reference in this au, the terms “onibi” and kodama” are the names given to corrupted powers and uncorrupted, natural powers respectively. They are not the exact same as the Japanese folklore, but simply named after them.

After Kira started becoming well known for killing criminals, word spread quickly that he must’ve bonded with an onibi since anyone who usually is born/receives a kodama gets registered by the government. So Misa, enamored by her hero, goes out and does the same so she can help him in the future.

Misa confronted Light when he was his normal civilian self, since she recognized that he looked similar to Kira. He seemed dismayed about his bonding with Ryuk and told Misa the troubles he had been enduring ever since. Misa, recently bonded with her own onibi, pretended she was also suffering when in reality, the effects Rem had on her hadn’t hit her yet, which led to Light dismissing Misa in the future when she inevitably was suffering from the side effects.

Misa’s power allows her to convince anyone who was capable of falling in love with her/insecure about their own appearance to do what she says in order to “please her”. For a while, she was fine with the attention. But when Rem constantly told Misa everyday that she was love and adored, Misa began to doubt it.

She tried to seek comfort in Light by asking him if he loved her, albeit in her childish, “annoying” voice so he wouldn’t realize it bothered her and would answer dishonestly. Realizing the people around her don’t truly love her like she longs and wishes for is how Rem is trying to drive her mad (as stated in previous post for this au, onibi are trying to corrupt their hosts).

Poor girl, I love her <3 She’s definitely smarter than she presents herself in this one. Also, fun fact, we find out throughout the story that Light and L are immune to her powers since both of them don’t experience physical romantic attraction.

DN Superhero au or smth…

I have more serious art of this au, yet here we are. Imagine your enemy rejecting your friend request so hard, you had a mental breakdown and built up a version you liked of him from scratch. Couldn’t be me.

Brief rundown of some lore for the au related to this piece-

L is powerless, but still fights criminals both as a detective and physically (think of him as Batman if you will).

The two normal ways you would get powers are from birth or basically being a late bloomer at sixteen. Light, age seventeen at the start of the story, is upset he didn’t get powers since he didn’t want to fight without them. So he chose the secret third option to get some: find corrupted powers that abandoned their previous owners and use it for good. Powers are sentient and his is named Ryuk. Needless to say, corrupted powers corrupt their hosts, and this includes Lighto.

Anyways, after a while in the story, Light decides to grab one of these corrupted powers and some of L’s dna to make himself another member of his team, since he only has Misa rn and L’s being a jerk. Beyond, referred to as Ryuzaki like L is in this story, has all of L’s previous memories, but Light uses bro’s trauma from Wammy’s orphanage and convinces him to hate L for not taking their problems seriously.

Light takes pride in his creation, and actually bonds with Beyond quite well in this story, which like-wow, I never thought I’d have a story where those two got along. Anyways, no memory loss arc when Light gets imprisoned. Instead, that’s when he releases a violent Beyond out into the wild to distract and disturb L.

That’d all I’ll say for now. More to come later :]

Haha, imagine if Beyond was an escaped convict who got injured during his breakout and was taken in by Light and Ryuzaki- only to find out they’re Kira and L. 

Surely attempting to flee from them without them finding out that he knows their identities won’t screw up his psyche even more right? And the two smartest guys in Japan don’t already know he’s a criminal and are messing with him on purpose, right….?

(If this au sounds familiar, it’s ’cause I posted it as a prompt on the Death note prompt machine on Ao3 before deciding to expand its story into my own au with more lore. Wara Ningyos mean a lot to Beyond in this one…)
