Current Au’s I’m working on are:
Ninjago Darkley’s Au-
The ninja are sent by Sensei Wu to Darkley’s Boarding School for Bad Kids in order to break down the evil institution from the inside, as well as check on the well-being of his nephew, Lloyd Garmadon. However, they have to keep their powers and statuses as ninja a secret, as well as deal with Lloyd’s overprotective roommate (Morro) and Lloyd’s crazy crush (the Jade princess, Harumi)

Prone to Decay Au-
A human child named Morro stumbles into a haunted graveyard which has ghosts that typically kills anyone who enters it to increase their troops. This time, the child gets raised while still being alive, leading to him being the perfect lure for other living beings. He’s watched over by Archer (a cold, skilled warrior), Wrayth (an excitable friend to Morro as he gets older in this au), Bansha (either serious or snarky, no inbetween) and Ghoultar (a ghost who never should have been cursed in the first place). Throughout his life, Morro keeps meeting Lloyd Garmadon, who tries convincing him that the cursed are not what a true family is like.

Hikari Yo Death Note Au-
More information coming soon. I suggest listening to Kikuo’s song called Hikari Yo. For no related reason :]

I have more serious art of this au, yet here we are. Imagine your enemy rejecting your friend request so hard, you had a mental breakdown and built up a version you liked of him from scratch. Couldn’t be me.
Brief rundown of some lore for the au related to this piece-
L is powerless, but still fights criminals both as a detective and physically (think of him as Batman if you will).
The two normal ways you would get powers are from birth or basically being a late bloomer at sixteen.
Light, age seventeen at the start of the story, is upset he didn’t get powers since he didn’t want to fight without them. So he chose the secret third option to get some: find corrupted powers that abandoned their previous owners and use it for good. Powers are sentient and his is named Ryuk. Needless to say, corrupted powers corrupt their hosts, and this includes Lighto.
Anyways, after a while in the story, Light decides to grab one of these corrupted powers and some of L’s dna to make himself another member of his team, since he only has Misa rn and L’s being a jerk. Beyond, referred to as Ryuzaki like L is in this story, has all of L’s previous memories, but Light uses bro’s trauma from Wammy’s orphanage and convinces him to hate L for not taking their problems seriously.
Light takes pride in his creation, and actually bonds with Beyond quite well in this story, which like-wow, I never thought I’d have a story where those two got along. Anyways, no memory loss arc when Light gets imprisoned. Instead, that’s when he releases a violent Beyond out into the wild to distract and disturb L.
That’d all I’ll say for now. More to come later :]
Our after church Bible class teacher lets us doodle while taking notes, and today’s drawing just so happened to be L and Light. Look at the baby yotsuba blorbos awww…it’d be a shame if these two main characters died in their own show haha
Haha, imagine if Beyond was an escaped convict who got injured during his breakout and was taken in by Light and Ryuzaki- only to find out they’re Kira and L.
Surely attempting to flee from them without them finding out that he knows their identities won’t screw up his psyche even more right? And the two smartest guys in Japan don’t already know he’s a criminal and are messing with him on purpose, right….?
(If this au sounds familiar, it’s ’cause I posted it as a prompt on the Death note prompt machine on Ao3 before deciding to expand its story into my own au with more lore. Wara Ningyos mean a lot to Beyond in this one…)
I really hope he doesn’t end up pulling a Ted like in I have no mouth and I must scream and ends up being the only circus member to stay behind in agony. He’s just my relatable little bunny :(

L was supposed to die on November 5th. Instead, Light’s plans of getting rid of his rival are disrupted by the Jdrama versions of themselves appearing in their world. Will this help L survive the Kira case? Or will the two Lights team up and make sure both of their worlds will be ruled by Kira?
~~~
Aka, I just want to throw the anime versions and Jdrama versions in a room together and see how they interact with each other lol
(Chapter One of fic below cut)
L was supposed to die today.
The ringing in his ears which began to sound like the chiming of bells only grew louder and more bothersome the more hours passed through the day. They seemed to reach a crescendo when Light confronted him out in the rain. The game was getting tiring. It wasn’t fun anymore. This was life and death. And somehow, somehow… L knew it was his time to leave. He didn’t want to just yet, he had so much left to do. Had Light even thought that far ahead into the future? How many criminal cases would go unsolved due to the lack of the world’s greatest detective? Sure, he probably had a matching notebook to the one they found with Higuchi, but the general public wasn’t aware of even half of the cases L had gotten himself into. There would always be those evading judgement, no matter if it was L or Kira hunting them down.
You’ve brought your knife to my throat, the hunt’s over. This thought came to the detective as the one he believed to be his murderer gently dried his still dripping wet hair. L twitched slightly, a soft apology slipping out of his lips.
“I’m sorry…” What exactly was Ryuzaki sorry for? Himself? The fact that Light became what he is now due to the state of the world? Or was it the fact that the game was coming to a close? Who was Light supposed to play with when he was gone?
“It’ll be lonely, won’t it?” L raised his head to look Light in the eyes, a ghost of a smile plastered onto his face. At least Ryuzaki wouldn’t ever have to deal with the loneliness that would accompany him by the absence of the one who had become his other half. It seemed as if Light still wasn’t fully grasping the severity of the situation, based off of the genuine confusion and concern that was etching his face. The detective reiterated, “You and I will be parting ways soon.”
There was only a split second of recognition in the murderer’s eyes as he seemed to understand what L already knew, just before the ringing of the latter’s phone interrupted the fragile peace between them. Knowing it was time for it all to come to an end, L answered swiftly and dutifully, expecting to hear Watari’s confirmation to get ready to test the thirteen day rule.
Instead, his eyes widened as he heard something he hadn’t factored into the equation when it came to this game of cat and mouse between him and Kira. He stood there, just listening to Watari for a whole minute, the phone clasped between his thumb and pointer figure as he slouched pathetically. Light eventually surrendered his courtesy of not talking to someone while they were on the phone and asked, “Well, what it it?” L tilted his head towards Kira, his mind quickly jumping out of its depressive flunk and back into adrenaline pumped overdrive.
“The bells stopped.” And unbeknownst to the detective, a shinigami’s laughter rang out.
~~ ~~ ~~
What did you do? was L’s first thought when he saw the two strangers the task force had accepted into the building. But the accusation was not directed towards them for doing what was definitely a security risk. It was directed towards Light. The detective’s gaze flicked back and forth between the frozen man beside him and the uncanny doppelgängers in front of them. They were by no means identical, yet somehow, L had immediately gotten a hunch that the man with dark hair and wide, searching eyes dressed in all white was him. He had never felt that immediate sensation before, not even when one of his successor’s had pretended to be him (and did a whole lot better at getting the physical appearance down than this stranger had). And obviously, if L saw Light as his other half to a coin, then the confounded, nervous shifting mess beside his look alike must also be Light.
The tension hung thickly in the air, not just between to two sets of twins, but the perplexed coworkers as well. Attempting to cut the silence, Matsuda offered meekly,
“We weren’t gonna let them in originally, Ryuzaki, it’s just that-he,” the officer jestered to the brunette, “said that he was Light Yagami. And at first I was like, no way, that’s not our Light, but it was pouring outside, and how in the world did they know where the task force was located-“
“Matsuda, that’s enough,” L cut him off before the piercing pain that formed in his head could start growing any bigger. So anyone claiming to have the names of someone on the task force could be let inside the building? Yeah, that definitely reassured him of the safety protocols everyone was meant to be following here. For a moment, everyone was silent again. Not a word came out of his doppelgänger’s mouth, he simply kept observing, analyzing while the corners of his mouth threatened to curve into a hint of a smile. L shifted his eyes away, fully focused on Light now as he proposed, “Well, I know now that magic notebooks of death exist, as well as shinigami themselves so…what’s one more supernatural act?” As Light opened his mouth to answer with what would most likely be a smooth way of agreeing with L, whether this was actually the truth or not, the detective’s copy interrupted,
“So you’ve seen a Shinigami?” He leaned forward a bit, hands clasped behind his back as his eyes and smile both widened. “Oh, I’d love to hear about that. It would really help my investigation on the Kira case.”
At the same time that Aizawa wondered aloud in disbelief the phrase “Kira case?”, the other Light put a hand on the other L’s shoulder and whispered sharply, “Ryuga-“ His other self glanced back at the more desperate version of his rival with a slightly annoyed look. L raised his thumb to his mouth and bit down harshly. How did Light do this? And why choose this instead of a quick way to kill L off once and for all? That had been the plan for today, hadn’t it? But now so many more questions were bouncing around in his brain. They didn’t seem to be actors. Was Light somehow able to create artificial life, or did he truly figure out how to bring versions of themselves from another world to this one? Was this a previous plan he had set in motion, believed didn’t work, and then didn’t realize would still occur until it was too late and during a rather inconvenient time?
“How did you two get here anyway? Do you remember what you were doing before this?”
Light asked, both as if he had read L’s mind and as a way to drive attention back to the first matter at hand. Or was it more so an attempt to steer the narrative into whatever direction he wanted it to go?
“I don’t know,” the other Light cleared his throat, still having his hand on the other L’s shoulder while trying to drag the latter back into his position standing side by side with him. “Ryuga and I just found ourselves out in the rain in the middle of nowhere and went to the first place we knew we could meet up with the others. Even if…these people aren’t our coworkers, I guess…” There was a sense of genuine earnestness in this Light’s voice, which L keyed as dangerous. His Light, while having a formal, polite voice, could never convince L he was truly naive. But this…no, he couldn’t trust a word out of this snake’s mouth. Yet the other version of himself made no move to dispute or correct this tale of events.
“So it must be something that happened in their world then,” Light suggested thoughtfully, as if he wasn’t already trying to fool the rest of the task force. No, L would need more time in private to get to the bottom of this. It was easier for Light to show more of his true self when the two of them were alone. Making up his mind quickly, L called out,
“Watari, please escort the task force members back to their homes.” Soichiro seemed the most against this idea as Watari entered the room, seemingly hearing L from out of nowhere. His son had a stranger claiming to be him and he was just supposed to let them stay alone together while his mind was still trying to grasp the logic behind this?
“Ryuzaki, we can’t just-“
“Oh, but I insist, Mr. Yagami.” L waved him off, straightening his back slightly to seem less unfriendly. “You all have done such a great job catching Higuchi as Kira, even if he ended up losing his life in the end. You deserve a break. Light and I will simply figure out the meaning of what’s going on, right?” He fixed his gaze on his rival, not even needing to give a threatening look as Light immediately agreed.
“Dad, it’s fine. Honestly, I’m kind of curious to hear what my other self’s life is like.”
“Light, how can you say that? Do you even understand what this implies-“
“It’s probably just a prank anyway,” Light cut him off, immediately switching strategies as if it was as easy as knowing what color the sky was. Of course Kira would want to talk to his other self. Probably conspire and go forward with whatever was the next step in his plan. No matter. He would just have to keep the two Lights separated-
“Alright, come with me,” his other self grabbed his wrist out of nowhere and dragged the two of them into a separate room as if he owned the place.
~~ ~~ ~~
“Can I call you something other than Light? ‘Cause otherwise it’s gonna feel really weird to call you by my name.” His voice was friendly, but straight down to business. Strategic. The shorter brunette scratched the back of his head awkwardly. He hadn’t expected to be separated from Ryuga so quickly, especially not left to his own devices in this strange new world.
“Um, well, I guess I have a friend who calls me Raito…” Raito then clasped his hands together in front of him as he traced his thumb over his knuckles. Light had moved them out of the building into a hotel that he apparently had just rented a room in since he no longer needed to share a room with L at the task force (whatever that meant…). Now the two of them were sitting across from each other in what should’ve been comfy arm chairs, yet Raito felt anything but calm. This version of himself refused to break eye contact, even when Raito forfeited by looking at the spotted carpet below them.
“Raito? Does this friend of yours have big goofy eyes?” Light’s voice was still lighthearted and laced with the comfort of a friend spilling an inside joke. That’s exactly what this was, wasn’t it? A hint? A clue? Raito swallowed a thick wad of saliva down as he wagered another look up in Light’s direction. Passing it off as a nervous tick, the former lightly tapped near his ear, covering the motion with a jolt of his head. The latter let out a small exhale in amusement, his grin growing fractionally wider. He shook his head. The room was not bugged.
“You know Ryuk too?” Raito asked immediately, leaning forward with his already hunched back as soon as he was given the confirmation no one else was listening in on them.
“I wouldn’t say that so freely if I were you,” Light scoffed, the friendliness from his voice bleeding away as his smile transformed into a scowl. “That’s exactly how you would fall for L’s mind games. Don’t admit to what you’re not sure people already know.” Immediately, the phone call Ryuga first spoke to him through came to his head. Yes, that was sound advice. He was always grateful looking back that the lump that had formed in his throat stopped him from spilling his secrets retroactively by trying to defend himself.
“But you do have it too, right?” Unfortunately, Raito didn’t believe he had his on him. Then again, who knows how the magic notebook would function when writing names in a different world.
“I’m glad we have at least one thing in common,” Light sighed, resting his head against his propped up wrist. He was still looking his other self up and down judgmentally. “How in the world did you even manage to bring yourself here? You look like a twig ready to snap at any moment.” Raito bristled at the jab. It was like he had personally offended Light somehow by his mere presence alone.
“I assumed you had the answer to why I’m here. That’s the whole reason why I even agreed to leave with you in the first place!”
Something sparked in Light’s narrow eyes as he slowly removed his hand from his cheek. He shifted in his chair so he was no longer relaxed, but more like a diligent student waiting to be called on by the teacher.
“Then who brought you here? You do realize I had plans today, and you kind of just threw a wrench into them, right?”
“What could be more important than this?” Venom leaked into Raito’s words. He was beginning to grow more comfortable with grasping the situation he was in, and with that came his confidence and the shattering of the mask of the polite, good boy persona.
“I was going to kill L today, for crying out loud!” Light snapped, his voice immediately taking on a louder octave as if he had felt challenged by Raito’s discontent. His fist had collided with the chair as he admitted this, standing up abruptly, and soon after running a hand through his hair as a way of attempting to self regulate. Raito found himself both surprised and ashamed that he had flinched back from the outburst. So…he had personally wronged this version of Light. He also would have been ticked off if he finally figured out a way to kill L just for the universe to throw this surprise at him from the middle of nowhere.
“How did you manage to figure that out?” Raito asked, only realizing after he spoke that his voice had dropped a tad quieter than the normal volume he spoke at. Light, who had began pacing around in front of him, paused momentarily and glanced at him with a look that shifted between anger, disbelief, and disgust, as well as many more unnamed emotions before turning into reluctance.
“If you don’t even know the answer to that, then you’re screwed. Man, I pray your world gets another hero to save it because I doubt you’ll be able to beat L at this rate.” That was a possibility that Raito always tried to avoid thinking about when he and Ryuga went head to head against each other. Out of sight, out of mind. If it had been Ryuk telling him this, he would’ve told the shinigami to shove it. But hearing these words come out of his own mouth, from his own self who was apparently accomplishing more than he was if he already figured out a way to kill L…
“Okay, then help me!” Raito rose from his seat. This time he initiated eye contact and didn’t back down. His jaw clenched slightly as he tried his best to show how serious he was about his cause to this prideful version of himself. “I want the world to be a better place, where people don’t have to fear that the police won’t protect them from those who want to hurt them. There’s so much pain and suffering going on right now, and I just want to help. Please, I know you’re busy, but my world needs saving too. Even if Ryuga can’t see that’s what I’m doing. So if there’s something I’m doing wrong, you have to tell me what that is!”
Light let out a sigh, his face not even betraying a hint of surprise at the change in demeanor happening in front of him. He simply crossed his arms, his pose somehow full of sass despite him standing up straight. “Well, if I do end up helping you, don’t expect me to put you above my own goals. I don’t need another Misa.”
Did that mean he would help? Before Raito could psychoanalyze the intent behind his words, his brain latched on to the flippant comment regarding the second Kira. His heart dropped as he felt sweat begin to form.
“Wait, I forgot about Misa…”
~~ ~~ ~~
“Light Yagami is Kira.”
L began stacking his pile of sugar cubes into the formation of what would become a pyramid. “I know,” was his reply to this “Ryuaga’s” first words to him when they were all alone. A brief silence. Then…
“And Misa Amane is the second Kira.”
“Yes.”
“…”
“…”
“Why won’t you look at me?” Ryuga accused, stepping around L’s desk to try to creep into his field of vision. He pulled close to him one of L’s spare swivel chairs and balanced himself on top of the seat, his chest pressed directly where one was meant to rest their back. He titled forward, making an audible creaking noise with the wheels.
L glanced up at his other self. There was an air of arrogance to him. Yes, he was also arrogant, but something told him this version of himself didn’t have the self awareness of this fact like he did.
“So you decided to keep the Hideki Ryuga alias?” He smiled at the mention of his name. There was now definitely an eighty-nine percent chance he was unaware of the arrogance.
“I wouldn’t have come this far if I let Light call me L in public, now would I?” He drawled lazily, his words laced in thick honey compared to the flat stones L pictured his own voice to sound like.
“I too used that alias, but only momentarily. For security reasons, I switched to Rue Ryuzaki.” His eyes trailed back to his growing sugar pyramid. He estimated it would have five layers by the amount he was building with currently on layer two while Ryuga rolled his alias off of his tongue.
“Interesting name, but I would never make up an alias so close to my title.” The sugar cube meant to start the third layer stayed clenched in L’s fingers as he paused to consider the comment. His eyes went back to Ryuga, quickly seeing if there was anything in his current body language he could pick up from the statement. The alias “Rue Ryuzaki” was not originally L’s; he had simply collected it after defeating Beyond Birthday. Was there no B in that world? Or was this him, simply taking over the L title? He did have a certain smugness to him and the proneness to grinning, which he was doing right now while L judged him. That grin abruptly dropped off his face ten seconds after there was no reciprocation from L, as if it was exhausting to put up such a charming smile. It probably was.
“Have I insulted you? That wasn’t my intent when I asked to meet alone. I just wanted to compare notes to see how your Kira investigation is going compared to mine.”
“Mmph…” L grunted, his hand finally moving to drop the sugar cube in place. He was tired of waiting to eat the sugar cubes and began reassembling the already placed cubes into the latter layers in order to make the pyramid smaller. “In all honesty, I’m pretty sure I was meant to die today, but your presence as well as the other Light’s has disrupted that.”
“You’re welcome.”
“…” Another break in the conversation. “So did you bring the two of you here then?” Ryuga sighed, pushing against the table in order to spin his chair in a slow three sixty degree motion.
“No…so we’re at a stalemate then.” Another pause. “But…you did mention a…’magical notebook’?” L nodded his head. Finally, a topic that he had more information on and could actually know what to say. He dropped the pyramid’s top sugar cube into his mouth only a moment after finishing the tower, causing Ryuga to scrunch his face up in judgement.
“The Death Note. We recently recovered it from the current Kira before he died. It has the ability to take people’s lives simply by writing their names.” Ryuga braced his hand against the table to stop spinning, his eyes wide and scanning to see if Ryuzaki was telling the truth.
“That…doesn’t seem fair.”
“It isn’t.”
His other self shifted in the chair so he was now sitting cross legged, leaning back against the chair. “Well…I guess that makes sense how Kira was able to kill from far away distances. Still, you’ve kind of spoiled it for me now.” L frowned, glaring up at Ryuga, who was now craning his neck to stare at the ceiling.
“What do you know then? How far along in the investigation are you?’
“We have proof Misa is the second Kira, so she’s in confinement,” he answered quickly. He was still slightly spinning from side to side by propping his hands against the table and moving this way and that. “Light has agreed to be confined as well, but…”
“But what?” What must’ve been muffled confusion shone in Ryuga’s eyes for a moment before he quickly schooled his expression back into one of indifference as he looked down at L.
“I don’t know.”
“You don’t know?”
“I can’t remember.” L got the urge to bite the inside of his lip upon hearing this detail but chose to direct that urge towards chomping down another sugar cube. Instead of making a helpful, relevant comment based on the previous, now concerning topic of their conversation, Ryuga asked pointedly, “I suppose if you’re eating that you don’t have any konjac jelly lying around that I could have?”
Jelly? As L pressed a button on an adjacent keyboard to request for some from Watari, he once again questioned if this was truly himself or just Beyond Birthday. That would become known the longer he analyzed Ryuga. But for now…snacks.
Ok, since Beyond Birthday most likely didn’t actually sound like L (despite my headcanon that he’s an obsessive freak who learned how to), what voice claims do y’all have for him? I’d love to hear what you imagine him sounding like since it’s free real estate
I have been working on a few different art projects but haven’t been able to finish and post any of them yet due to my job. And I feel bad for not posting yet this year lol. SO, I thought maybe if people send asks, I’ll rant about some of my death note aus that I’ve been wanting to share with the world but I haven’t had the time to write/draw.
Each of these correlates with something relating to one of my aus without me going too in depth to them yet. So just send me an ask with one of these if you want to read about some Death Note aus.
I’ll be honest, there are a lot of Christmas year times where I’ve been pretty depressed. So I really love that they talk about that in Charlie Brown, even from so long ago. This stuff was my childhood, my grandma would play these vhs tapes all the time.
Merry Christmas, I hope y’all have a decent night! And if not, I’ll pray for ya to have some better next few days at the very least.
