The local charity realized that it had never received a donation from the cityās most successful lawyer.
So a volunteer paid the lawyer a visit in his lavish office. The volunteer opened the meeting by saying, āOur research shows that even though your annual income is over two million dollars, you donāt give a penny to charity. Wouldnāt you like to give something back to your community?.
The lawyer thinks for a minute and says, 'First, did your research also show you that my mother is dying after a long painful illness, and she has huge medical bills that are far beyond her ability to pay?ā
Embarrassed, the rep mumbles, 'Uh⦠No, I didnāt know that.ā
'Secondly,ā says the lawyer, 'did it show that my brother, a disabled Veteran, is blind and confined to a wheelchair and is unable to support his wife and six children?
The stricken rep begins to stammer an apology, but is cut off again
'Thirdly, did your research also show you that my sisterās husband died in a dreadful car accident, leaving her penniless with a mortgage and three children, one of whom is disabled and another that has learning disabilities requiring an array of private tutors?ā
The humiliated rep, completely beaten, says, 'Iām so sorry. I had no idea.
And the lawyer says, 'So, if I didnāt give any money to them, what makes you think Iād give any to you?
A perfectly triangular lake has 3 kingdoms on its 3 sides
The first kingdom is rich and powerful, filled with wealthy, prosperous people, the second is humbler, but has its fair share of wealth and power. The third kingdom is struggling and poor, and barely has an army.
The kingdoms eventually go to war over control of the lake, as itās a valuable resource to have. The first kingdom sends 100 of its finest knights, clad in the best armour and each with their own personal squire. The second kingdom sends 50 knights, with fine leather armour and a few dozen squires of their own. The third kingdom sends their one and only knight, an elderly warrior who has long since passed his prime, with his own personal squire.
The night before the big battle, the knights in the first kingdom drink and party into the late hours of the night. The knights in the second kingdom arenāt as well off, but have their own supply of grog and drink well into the night.
In the third camp, the faithful squire gets a rope and swings it over the branch of a tall tree, making a noose, and hangs a pot from it. He fills the pot with stew and has a humble dinner with the old knight.
The next morning, the knights in the first two kingdoms are hungover and unable to fight, while the knight in the third kingdom is old weary, unable to get up.
In place of the knights, the squires from all three kingdoms go and fight. The battle lasts long into the night but by the time the dust settled, only one squire was left standing - the squire from the third kingdom.
And it just goes to show you that the squire of the high pot and noose is equal to the sum of the squires of the other two sides.
There was an old man who lived by a forest. As he grew older and older, he started losing his hair, until one day, on his deathbed, he was completely bald. That day, he called his children to a meetingā¦
He said, āLook at my hair. It used to be so magnificent, but itās completely gone now. My hair canāt be saved. But look outside at the forest. Itās such a lovely forest with so many trees, but sooner or later theyāll all be cut down and this forest will look as bald as my hair.ā
āWhat I want you to doā¦ā the man continued. āIs, every time a tree is cut down or dies, plant a new one in my memory. Tell your descendants to do the same. It shall be our familyās duty to keep this forest strong.ā
And so they did. Each time the forest lost a tree, the children replanted one, and so did their children, and their children after them. And for centuries, the forest remained as lush and pretty as it once was, all because of one man and his re-seeding heirline.
A German man is traveling through Poland when he's stopped at a security checkpoint.
The Polish Security Officer asks, "Where are you traveling from?"
The German man says, "Berlin."
The Polish Security Officer asks, "Occupation?"
The German man says, "No, just visiting."

This is my life - itās not fun, itās not smart, itās just standing up and making a decision because nobody else will.
My friend needs your feedback!! He runs a website [Lingopie] where you can learn a language by watching TV shows and movies.
As a polyglot, he is super passionate about learning and teaching languages and wants to help students and language learners succeed. He has been working on this project 24/7, so your feedback would make his day! Here is the problem:
His website is still young, so they have limited funds to obtain licenses for movies and television shows. To help as many people as possible, he is wondering what languages you would like to learn or have exams for, so he can focus on expanding the media collection for these languages. I really like him and want his project to succeed, so I created a form where you can vote.
The following languages are available at the moment: Japanese šÆšµ, Korean š°š·, Spanish šŖšø, French š«š·, German š©šŖ, Italian š®š¹, Portuguese šµš¹ and English šŗšø
Which language are you most interested in? Please vote here!
but...do they have any lgbtq shows?
Not yet, but I just asked and he said he would love to obtain licensing if there is enough interest!!!
I have updated the form. You can vote HERE (X)
omg I've always wanted to learn spanish in gay!
GO VOTE EVERYONE! I NEED THIS!
okay i just checked out their website and making flashcards out of tv scenes seems quite useful. feedback sent
Milky Way over Devils Tower : What created Devils Tower? The origin of this extraordinary rock monolith in Wyoming, USA is still debated, with a leading hypothesis holding that it is a hardened lava plume that never reached the surface to become a volcano. In this theory, the lighter rock that once surrounded the dense volcanic neck has now eroded away, leaving the dramatic tower. Known by Native Americans by names including Bearās Lodge and Great Gray Horn, the dense rock includes the longest hexagonal columns known, some over 180-meters tall. High above, the central band of the Milky Way galaxy arches across the sky. Many notable sky objects are visible, including dark strands of the Pipe Nebula and the reddish Lagoon Nebula to the towerās right. Green grass and trees line the foreground, while clouds appear near the horizon to the towerās left. Unlike many other international landmarks, mountaineers are permitted to climb Devils Tower. via NASA

artist tips
donāt save as jpeg
as a former yearbook editor and designer, let me explain this further
if youre only planning on posting your art online, them please save it as .png ;this is also better for transparencies as well
BUT
please, if youre planning of printing your art, NEVER use png. it makes the quality of the image pretty shitty. use jpeg or pdf instead. and always set your work at 300dpi to get a better printing quality - this means, the images are crisper and sharper and theres no slight blurriness. i had a talk with my friend who is currently taking design, and pdf is much better to use when youre working with a bigger publishing company because it still has the layers intact, but if youre only planning on printing your stuff at staples or at some small publishing store, the jpeg is the way to go.
this has been a public service announcement
Want a good picture to save as? PNG
