Hi so what is going on in the BSD manga.
Since I’ve been getting a lot of Iwaoi angst lately I just want to propose something.
I lot of people are saying that Oikawa didn’t toss to Iwa to win, but to say thank you but I disagree: I think there’s a mix of both.
Oikawa tossed to the one he had the most faith, trust, and confidence in who happened to be Iwaizumi. Iwaizumi was there from day one, so who else would Oikawa send it to who’s standing on the court?
He set it to the one who he believed would get the job done. And even if he didn’t get the job done he would still be proud of him no matter what.
Anyway that’s my two cents.
Headcannon: BSD is just the largest and longest DnD game ever by students in their last year of graduate school.
Everyone is still the same person and they just inserted themselves into the DnD universe with special abilities, names and appearances are the same. Ages are tweaked for the older adults.
Somehow they got a random business major to be their initial DM and that’s who the orphanage director is, he just abused the hell out of Atsushi cause it was Atsushi who got him into it.
After Oda rolled a 4 and died, he became the DM to haunt the narrative.
Mori and Fukuzawa teamed up early on but then had a falling out irl because of some stupid, petty reason and it transferred into the game. (Fukuzawa insulted Mori’s major)
Dazai used to have the worst luck but then once Oda died he got some of the best rolls. He’s always swaying the game with his random his rolls are. And his persuasion is off the charts.
The only one who has him beat in persuasion is Fyodor who actually has no idea what’s going on but every single time he rolls, whatever happens is just so detailed and grandiose. He is literally so clueless irl.
Francis is an exchange student and his girlfriend didn’t want to join and he mourns her every single day. Their daughter is their shared dog.
Dazai and Chūya still don’t get along irl either. Their relationship in game is the exact same as life too and everyone is sooooo tired of their weird version of flirting.
On the other hand, Akutagawa and Atsushi get along great, they’re “good buds” but their older classmates influenced them to have an enemies to lovers arc.
All of it is so chaotic, they’re all different majors who either attend the same school or are friends who got roped in. Natsumi is just the name of a really chill professor they all like.
BRING BACK POKÉMON CONTESTS. I mean actual Pokémon contests where if you compete, you’re classified as a Pokémon Coordinator.
I don’t mean a Pokémon Performer or whatever. Call me old school, but I HATED the Pokémon performances in the X and Y series because I felt like it was so surface level and all about the outward appearance of a pokemon.
I want the pokemon contests that we saw in Hoenn and Sinnoh—the Advanced Generations era. I’m definitely biased because my favorite girl is May (big contestshipper) and I love her and everything about her. But one thing about Coordinators is that they were inclusive to everyone. Hell, even Ash participated in them and he did pretty damn well.
They combine battle and performance. Not only do you have to find a way to make your pokemon and their moves appealing, you must strategize how to work it into battle while keeping enough points. With Performances, it was all audience based so heaven forbid that you go up against someone with a big fan base. Contests do the whole “performance” thing better in my opinion because it’s not looking cute or pretty or cool. There’s so much other things to it as well.
Idk. Feel free to argue with me. I’m just not a fan of the X and Y series as a whole—I think the story was kind of mediocre and really derived from where it started. I didn’t like his traveling companions that much (Serena irks me tbh), and it sucks cause Ash’s team was based af.
Anyway justice for my girl May. I love her and I wanted her to have more screen time. Pokemon Coordinators are overlooked in the franchise and I’m here to talk about how awesome they are. If I were in the Pokemon world, I would be a Pokemon Coordinator.
Best ship btw
Since some people seem to agree with me (I’m genuinely shocked) I wanna know what your teams would look like!! If you have a Pokémon OC even have a team built throw them out there! I love seeing team building and why people choose those Pokémon!
I actually do have an OC who is a coordinator and her main team kinda looks like this:
-Blaziken
-Absol
-Milotic
-Corviknight
-Galarian Rapidash
-Hisuian Zoroark (shiny version cause I love it)
Some of her other partners she has is:
-Alolan Ninetails
-Lycanroc (midday form)
-Mimikyu
-Lotad
-Stuffl
-Male Combee
She loves silly little guys :p
It’s Pokémon time yall.
I really just need a place to vent about this. NOW CALL ME OLD SCHOOL OR NOSTALGIA BRAIN. But I don’t like X and Y (anime and games. The anime more so)
My first issue is the plot. Now the games do a fine job with plot development since it’s a bit easier to focus on plot when the main character is sort of a blank slate. The anime on the other hand?? Wack. It would be a great plot if handled differently. The start of the series gave off the vibe of how every new season starts but then it gets weird…. Now some would argue that Diamond and Pearl kind of did the same thing but they handled it better with the timing of the major plot. We also didn’t have a shit ton of side characters to worry about.
My second issue is the characters. Bonnie is annoying as hell and I don’t like Serena. I’m sorry to all of those who do, but I don’t like her characterization. I get starting a journey and not knowing what you’re doing, but starting a journey to find a boy you met years ago is kinda stupid. I know May had the same sort of backstory, but she wanted to travel and explore so it made sense for her get a Pokémon. Serena? I said it before but I don’t like Pokémon Performances and they felt thrown in there to give some characters something to do.
I’m sorry Serena fans I just don’t like her. It’s not like I hate more feminine characters who aren’t as “I’m not like other girls”, I love them, but her development is a drag and when I look at her all I can remember is that her change was “I WENT THROUGH MUD LOOK AT MY GROWTH”
Ash went through some unnecessary shit. He had annoying travel companions and went through what was basically the burning of the Library of Alexandria. His team was STACKED which makes me sad it’s in one of my least favorite seasons of all time.
We have so many side characters that don’t need to be there. Game and anime wise at that. The rivals? I hate them. We have Fuck Ass Bowl Cut, Diabetes Dancing, and Fuck Off I Don’t Like You Romantically. We don’t need them.
The game? Easy. It’s sad cause I LOVE mega evolutions, it’s my favorite gimmick in the series. But the game is just too easy and there’s nothing to do postgame. NOTHING.
Anyway that was my rant for the day. Have a lovely time of day.

Some Haikyuu Analysis because I’m hyper fixating on it again :/
I’ve seen a lot of people have debates over characterization of characters—literally all of them because they’re so complex and it’s impossible to narrow down two or three traits to one character and one only. As people, it’s easy for us to understand something that is labeled; labeled with one or two words. But characters/people don’t allow for that.
Maybe I just want to talk about my favorite boys.
Oikawa is presented to us as this “royal king” who’s the BEST. Kageyama, the most skilled person we were introduced to so far, is terrified of this boy. Like straight up, his sleeper agent eyes had some backstory. We meet Oikawa and he’s cocky, a little shit, and presenting his facade that he WANTS us to see. Later on in the series we can catch a glimpse into who he really is, what drives him, and see why he acts in such a way.
His mental breakdown is often memed on (I’m guilty of this) which is informant because it creates a building block for so many characters; Oikawa is not the only one.
We learn why Iwaizumi has such a strong loyalty to Oikawa. We see the parallels between Oikawa and Kageyama, the lines that connect Oikawa and Ushijima.
Oikawa is a perfectionist in the worst way possible. I can say this because I. Am. Just. Like. Him.
He sets a goal and will sacrifice whatever it is to accomplish that goal. But just reaching that goal will never be enough for him because there will always be another goal that is just out of his reach. Sure. He may defeat Kageyama and Ushijima, but there will always been someone else to surpass; another end line that keeps moving farther until he pushes himself past a limit that he believes is non-existent. Such a cycle is toxic and slowly wears down your mental health especially which is why Iwaizumi is so damn loyal to keep Oikawa on stable ground. But one person can only do so much.
It’s not like Oikawa doesn’t know this, he’s not oblivious to this cycle—he chooses to ignore it because if he accepts this fact then he will never be his version of perfect. I feel like he not only resents himself for his lack of skills and ability to do xyz, but because he knows he can’t stop and that his best friend is on a wild goose chase (that’s not true, but that’s another post)
Someone with this mentally will eventually crack and just collapse somehow. It’s happened to me and it happened to him—but it can always happen again.
Moving on :D
Sugawara is overlook a lot of the time mainly due to him not having the most play time and not being super stellar in volleyball compared to a lot of other people. But I think he’s stellar in general because he has traits that so many other players lack—empathy and positivity. His level of positivity not only helps him on the court, but others as well and works as motivation, think about the times he’s been subbed into the match. He’s personal with others which allows for a stronger bond and connection which then leads to a strong team overall because everyone knows this guy and can rely on him consistently.
Empathy is something a lot of athletes struggle with, but he has it and his empathy and understanding is part of the reason why Karasuno made it so far. Giving your all doesn’t always mean being the best or performing 100%, it can be giving your all in decision making (if that makes sense).
He gave his all when giving up his spot as the starting setter for Karasuno. He opened up a brand new door.
Suga hurts because of this decision, we know this because it’s staged in the show, but it’s a sacrifice that he made for others because he wanted them to succeed; he didn’t need to succeed. That’s what’s beautiful because at the end of the day, he’s still a teenage boy and that’s what makes him so human and lovable. He has every single right to mourn and be sad for something he gave up willingly, but instead of dwelling on it, he gives himself to the team because his team means more to him than anything else.
That’s tragic in my eyes because Sugawara deserves so much love. His actions are overlooked not just in the fandom, but by his own team members and that’s what breaks my heart. Seeing someone put everything and then having a pat on the back as thanks.
Shoutout to Daichi and Tanaka for checking in on him.
Both Oikawa and Sugawara give their all, just in different ways and for different reasons. We can’t boil Oikawa down to “perfectionist” and Sugawara down to “sacrifice” because that’s not what they are. It makes up part of their art, but it’s just a single stroke.
If you couldn’t tell, I could go on about these two for days and days until I develop hypertension by how worked up I get lol. I love these two because I see so much of myself in them and feel validated about my own insecurities. Oikawa, Sugawara, thanks you little bastards.
Sorry for being inactive I dropped being a nursing major because apparently having a blood pressure of 159/100 is not good for my health but whatever.
ANYWAY I WANNA TALK ABOUT THE ENDING OF MHA. I don’t care what anyone says. It’s GOOD and Deku does not need his quirk back because why would he??
We were told of the outcome so many times through the manga and even from the very beginning of the show.
I LOVE THAT HES A TEACHER. It makes so much sense for him to teach kids-it fits his character and I find it perfect to be able to work with heroes, help new ones grow, and still stay true to himself as a quirkless person.
You. Don’t. Understand. How. Much. I. Love. Ochako. YOU DONT UNDERSTANDDD. Instead of focusing on “normal” hero work, she decides to change the world in a different way. Listen, I’m a big fan of Toga X Ochako (platonic or romantic) but it was the best outcome for Toga to die. She lived how she wanted to and that’s such a big part of her story. Ochako will keep that memory with her in the most important place—it’s not the public memory, but in her heart.
Look at my boy Mirio being number one. I love him for that. But give me some Tamaki rep yeah? He’s always been my favorite out of the Big Three.
How many years before Touya kicks the bucket? Like that man is living out of spite and I respect that. I love him a normal amount.
me every time i see a bsd image: okay but where chuuya

My PSA is about my one sk8ter bby
Sam with his hair in a hat is>>>>>
I love Sam. I’ve been a Sam simp for so long. He is my emotional support himbo your honor.
If you couldn’t love Sam with his goku hair you don’t deserve him now.
Okay back on Fairy Tail (spoilers)
I’ve been catching up on the 100 Year Quest manga because I saw something and was reminded of it. Someone in the BSD fandom needs a break every now and then. Side note. wtf fyodor. What is going on. I swear if Chūya or Dazai die imma die too.
ANYWAY FAIRY TAIL
I would just like to bring to light how well built the world of Fairy Tail is—world building is hard and creating a magic system is even harder (coming from a writer). But it’s so well done and even with the inclusion of alchemy and other stuff, I still rock with it. It’s a different take on what we’re used to.
Also let’s talk about the characters and their development. JELLAL? I love that man so much (not as much as you bbg Gray) but I love him. Him slowly forgiving himself and allowing himself to love Erza. UGH MY HEART HE DESERVES THE WORLD.
I love how Gray accepts Juvia and her weird form of love. It’s so cute and the progression is so well done since it’s not immediate.
Irene was always such a fascinating character to me and now that she’s reborn as Edolas Erza and Jellal’s child has me in tears (almost). Also the reveal that Jellal is a fake name??? His real name actually being Siegrain? Idk how to spell it. I ate that shit up.
Literally everyone but Natsu and Lucy are being confirmed. He’s trolling us hardcore and I don’t know if I can take much more of it.
Gajeel and Levy?????? I wanna see babies come ON.
Laxus REMOVING HIS LACRIMA???? Badass my dude.
I would LOVE to see even more Sabertooth. I love Sting so much, he’s my second fav in the series and everybody could use more Frosch in their lives. We need more dragon slayer sillyness.
Anyway I still love Fairy Tail. It is still my favorite anime. Even though I mainly post BSD stuff I need yall to know that Fairy Tail is what got me into anime in the first place. Lucy Heartfelia is my number one girl and this series as a whole is amazing.
I want it to be animated so badddd
Mori Ogai and Regret
Mori in the BSD Manga and Light Novels prides himself in always finding the optimal solution, in pushing his own feelings aside to accomplish the optimal goal for any given situation.
He is a man of logic and carefully wielded cruelty.
We see countless examples of the way he handles things and in the end achieves the best possible solution to his problems.
Killing the old Boss and having Dazai as his witness
Dazai pointing out that he himself is a possible danger to the initial plan
Chuuya remaining a loyal part of the Port Mafia
Driving Dazai away
Getting the Skilled Buisness Permit
The Great War and Yosano
There were all instances where we saw Mori put aside his own emotions and morality to achieve a greater goal. He wielded cruelty, facts and logic as weapons to achieve the in his mind most logical and optimal solution.
But Mori is human. And Humans can not completely disregard and turn off their emotions, no matter how hard they try.
Mori himself says that he has no regrets during the Guild Arc.
But does this like the face of a man void of regrets?
Or this?
In this instance Dazai is choosing the words that will invoke the feeling of Regret in Mori to push him towards choosing a truce with the ADA.
Dazai is aware that Mori has regrets.
But so is Hirotsu.
His inclusion in any conversations Dazai and Mori have regarding the old Boss tells us, as the reader, that Hirotsu knows the full picture.
He isn't just aware that Mori killed the old Boss like other people, but also of Mori's goal from that act.
Hirotsu even goes as far as to tell Mori that Dazai understands why Mori did what he did, implies that Dazai would also understand other actions Mori takes to reach the optimal solution.
But this also shows us something different.
Mori needs reminders.
After Mori killed the old PM Boss Dazai became a constant reminder of why he did what he did. It was inevitable that Dazai would forever remind Mori of the act itself and the initial reasoning behind it, since Dazai was present and Dazai helped him plan it.
Once Dazai left the Mafia Hirotsu transformed into a reminder of it all. In some way Kouyou is also a reminder of what he did and why he did it.
But why these two?
They were there during the reign of the old Boss.
But how does Mori remember the regrets of another part of his past? How does he remind himself of a time where he miscalculated, where he should have taken the emotions of the people he regarded as tools into account?
How is Mori reminded of the mistakes and regrets of the Great War, of Yosano?
Elise.
Elise is Mori's ability, Vita Sexualis. A humanoid puppet to control as he wishes.
But also to shape as he wishes.
During the Great War Elise is nothing more than a robotic being wearing a human skin, void of emotions, thoughts and autonomy.
Mori has always made Elise take the form of a younger girl.
While it is speculated in the fandom that this could be linked to his Lolicon, I believe otherwise.
Elise is for one inspired by the Novel The Dancing Girl from the real life author. But since she is Mori's ability in BSD she will be influenced by his subconcious.
Elise shows us that Mori, even in his twenties, wanted an apprentice. He wanted to impart his knowledge on someone else but until he found Yosano he did not have someone to do this with.
(Im Beast Elise takes the form of a women. Mori already has children to take care of and bestow his knowledge upton, he doesn't need her to fill thie role. But he does need another caretaker, so that is what Elise becomes)
Yosano herself says in the Manga that she respected Mori as a doctor.
Choosing a young and mallable girl as his apprentice did make her easier to manipulate, to create an army that can not die. But young people are also sponges for knowledge.
And here we come to his regret.
Mori does regret how he handled the situation with Yosano.
He liked that strong willed and opinionated young girl he drafted, and he broke her.
We do not see much of Elise until Dark Era, so we can not tell how long it took for Elise to display Yosanos personality after Yosano was redcued by Fukuzawa and Ranpo.
In this official Art we see Yosanos shadow in Elise, a clear indication of teh fact that Mori's impression of Yosano was bleeding into Elise. But we also see her still wearing pigtails.
Her hair and general clothing tells us that this is between loosing Yosano and Dark Era. With time, Elise will resemble Yosano more.
(The bow resembles the butterfly hairpin of Yosano.)
In this scene Mori tries to convince Elise to try on a new dress.
She refuses and clearly displays Yosano's personality in thsi interaction. From the way Mori handles it this isn't knew.
Their dynamic had already shifted into something more like Yosano and Mori instead of the Ability and Mori.
But her hair is different from the last picture.
Elise now has open and wavy hair. Does this remind you of someone?
(For a boy Dazai has always worn his hair longer than traditional seen as boyish, which in turn let's his ends curl and wave more noticable)
But why would Elise take on appearance markers of Dazai?
Simple.
Because there is something Mori regrets.
He only openly mentiones it in Beast but since Beast is a mirror of Canon, that shows us how different choices will change the same people, we can assume this are also the feelings of Canon!Mori.
Mori regrets not being able to really help Dazai.
And his regret will only get deeper as he makes another choice for an optimal solution.
Driving Dazai away and getting Oda killed fulfilled many positives for Mori, what he reached was the optimal solution. He just had to lose his right hand man.
(Light Novel Dark Era)
This is not the behavior of a man not regretting driving away the boy he cared about for 4 years to this point.
To this day Mori leaves Dazai's spot as executive open. He invited Dazai back into the Mafia.
And when we see Elise after Dark Era she has changed once again.
But this time it is not her appearance that changed, it is her attitude.
Elise displays a very much Dazai-like attitude when talking to Mori.
Where Yosano - and until the end of Dark Era Elise - were strong in their oppinion but polite and steadfast in their refusal, Dazai was bargaining. Dazai more often than not wanted something in exchange for doing something he deemed unpleasant/bothersome/boring.
During the recent timeline Elise also does this.
She doesn't just refuse things, she makes deals.
And she doesn't lie during negotiations, just like Dazai.
In the end Elise changes to be more like the people Mori feels a form of regret over. Elise is a constant reminder of his Regrets and Mistakes.
To support this, here are Asagiris words about Mori from the BSD Exhibition:
“He who fell out of the optimal solution”
Mori Ougai’s belief as the boss is described in the novel “Dark Era” and “Dazai, Chuuya, Fifteen”. That is “The boss stands on top of the organization, and at the same time, be the slave of all.” For the sake of the organization, the boss must always take the “logical optimal solution.” That is the duty of the boss.
There is an unspoken additional point to it. “Therefore, no matter how much your heart aches, you have to ignore your personal feelings.” We can catch a glimpse of that in this scene. [the ADA-PM alliance meeting]
Mori’s expressions after “Burnt it.” and “Like what you did to your predecessor”, gave us a glimpse of his true feelings that were made sacrifices for the sake of the “logical optimal solution”.
[Translation by @popopretty here on Tumblr]
A true optimal solution would leave Mori with no regrets. But whenever Elise changes and reminds him of regrets he feels, it is also a reminder of the time he did not truly reach an optimal solution.
This post is literal 👏👏👏 couldn’t have summed it up better
