Did anyone else notice how brendon was a little different in the stream after a few people said they were going to kill themselves and he told them they shouldnt and that hes been through the same thing. I think its worrying him that these people are putting their lives in his hands. Brendon is a musician, not a therapist. He definitely cares about all of us so much and has great motives- but he isnt exactly educated on this type of thing as a therapist is.
Oh finally someone said it
Seriously, can we stop using famous people as our own personal therapists just because theyāre there? I see it with Brendon, I see it with Dan and Phil, CrankThatFrank, Lin-Manuel Miranda, so many peopl getting messages or comments like that. Theyāre not therapists, theyāre not trained, and they might get very personally affected by by people saying that. It could even trigger them in a really negative way. If you are that depressed, that suicidal, you need professional help. Iām not saying donāt tell them āyou saved meā and āIām alive thanks to you,ā Iām not saying that. Iām saying donāt go into their streams or comments and say āI want to kill myself please help.ā Because They. Arenāt. Therapists. Theyāre not there for your own personal uplifting and salvation, as much as youād love them to. So stop, get real help.
End rant

what form of love do you embody?
results include but are not limited to: love as devotion, love as light, love as being known, love as a choice
being in my 20s is like I understand more of my mother and less than i ever have. My childhood friends are strangers to me and thereās no one i know better. i want to drink wine. i never stopped wanting to climb trees. i know more than Iāve ever known before. I donāt know anything at all. iām seven years old and sixteen and twenty nine and seventy. I canāt tell when i'm happy. I think the only thing that will make me happy is to be little again. i want to be really old. i go to the ocean and feel like nothing matters more than that. in my bedroom everything matters so much. I go to the grocery store every day. i know how to cook a lot of things but the only thing i know how to eat is fried eggs. I can take care of myself but i want to be taken care of. i want to go home and I don't know where that is. i think it may be somewhere inside of me but iām not sure
This just in: men are good. Masculinity is good. Being a man is good. Yes including cis men. Especially including trans men. If youāre someone who loves men, thatās good. Male love is good: the way men love each other, the way men love themselves is good. You should not be ashamed of loving men or of being a man, you should not shame others for loving men or being a man. Maleness is not a threat or an evil or unsafe.

Pierce Brosnan made a mermaid movie but nobody is allowed to see it!!!
i was casually browsing pierce brosnanās wikipedia page tonight when i noticed something v exciting: he recently filmed a MERMAID FANTASY MOVIE where he plays KING LOUIS XIV. howĀ had i not heard about this?
this is clearly the best film ever made:
āKing Louis XIVās quest for immortality leads him to capture and steal a mermaidās life force, a move that is further complicated by his illegitimate daughterās discovery of the creature.ā [x]
Kaya Skodelario plays the daughter. Fan Bingbing plays the mermaid. there are also a bunch of men but i donāt care about them.
naturally i was veryĀ excited to hear about this movie, for the obvious reason that it stars A MERMAID alongside PIERCE BROSNAN IN A HISTORICAL WIG. but then i noticed something ominous: itās been delayed.Ā āindefinitelyā delayed. since April 2015.
usually when a film gets delayed for that long, it means one of two things: itās an unwatchably terrible box office disaster in the making, or thereās some weird legal shit going on behind the scenes.
but whatever the reason, seriously: Paramount Pictures, i do not care. please deliver the goods on this PIERCE BROSNAN MERMAID MOVIE. itās a cultural necessity.
xoxo, Gavia.
This film was supposed to be released in 2015, itās 2020 now and still no movie! Kaya Scodelario and Fan Binging! Pierce Brosnan in a wig! Julie Andrews as the narrator! WHERE IS THIS MOVIE AND WHO IS HOLDING IT HOSTAGE?
SCREAMING AND CRYING AND CRYING AND SCREAMING!!! ALMOST 8 YEARS AFTER IT WAS FILMED (WHICH WAS IN 2014), WE ARE FINALLY GETTING THIS MOVIE IN 2022!!!!
Some more important info: this movie is based on the AMAZING Vonda N. McIntyre novel The Moon and the Sun, which a) won the Nebula the year it came out (1997), and b) beat George R.R. Martinās Game of Thrones for the Nebula.
(Vonda McIntyre named Star Trekās Hikaru Sulu, and won basically all the awards, and wrote gorgeous feminist and queer & polyamorous science fiction - if you havenāt read Starfarers (and, oh, thereās a story about how/why she wrote that, which is hilarious) - it centers a healthy stable polycule as the main protagonists!)
If you havenāt read The Moon and the Sun, itās got mermaids, French history, a side plot about the Black slave Odelette/Haleed earning her freedom, historical romance (which, annoyingly, it looks like theyāve changed for the film? Marie-Josepheās love interest is, in the novel, in Vondaās own words, āvery different from the usual tall and hunky romance heroā (heās a ādwarf,ā to use the textās historical descriptor of him at Court)ā¦oh, and gay characters exist and areā¦somewhat sympathetic, if not happy, Iād sayā¦the whole novel is a lush and lavish exploration of desire and humanity and monstrosity and storytelling and loyalty and love, and what youād do for that love, and who youād be loyal to, if you had to choose.
I wrote a short paper on the novel in grad school, for a women of science fiction seminar, a few years back, and somehow Vonda heard about that and got in contact and asked if she could read it, and she was wonderfully excited that someone would write a paper on her novel, and also very pessimistic about the film ever coming out (Iād discussed that in a footnote). I have the copy with her comments somewhere - I gave it as a conference paper at a science fiction conference, but it was a little short for an actual article, so I never did anything else with it, but maybe I should dig it out again and see what I can doā¦
Iām so glad the movieās finally coming out - I think Vonda would be pleased. I hope itās beautiful.
(The Starfarers story as I heard it goes like this: Vonda was on a panel with several other authors, at an event; a fellow panelist, a Big Name Author, went on a rant about how there was no good science fiction television and everything was awful and Bad; but Vonda liked a lot of SF television and wrote, for instance, Star Trek tie-in novels! So she interrupted him and said, āoh, but you havenāt seen this one show, Starfarers, itās great but no oneās seen it, the network keeps messing up the schedule or canceling the air date, but itās got space explorations and genuinely alien first contact and explorations of gender and sex andā¦ā, on and on, describing this great show - and the show did not exist, because sheād made it up.
But then she really wanted to tell the story sheād made up, and she had all the characters, the ideas, everything sheād been spinning on the spot. So she wrote it as a novel. And then she wrote three sequels. And always called it her ābest sci-fi TV series.ā)

It would have been absolutely HILARIOUS if at the end of Inheritance Eragon just went back to being a farmer
Reading the Eragon books is falling in love with the bad boy, then realizing that you are in love with his half-brother, and then realizing that you are in love with his half-brother's cousin
All at the same time
You know Oromis sometimes goes into Ellesmira (sp?) to socialize and comes back to his little cottage and makes himself some tea. Then he spends a good hour meditating on why the fuck he talks to people.
you know disney.. theres this awesome seriesā¦. called the inheritance cycle⦠the characters are so well developed i cryā¦.. and itās lengthyā¦. it would look amazing if animatedā¦. AND ITāLL DO BETTER THAN THE SHITE NETFLIX IS TRYNA PROMOTE
sometimes Iām just minding my own business and I remember that brom proved to eragon that the ancient language was real by making a bird sit on his hand disney princess style
