quick reminder to all of you who take prescribed antidepressants, antianxolants, etc. Please, please, stay cool this summer. It is incredibly important that you remain hydrated and in the shade as much as possible to avoid overheating. Your meds can increase your body temperature. If you feel faint, get inside, lie down, and drink a glass of ice water. Your body is a lovely muffin that’s at that perfect stage of golden brown. DO NOT cook yourself.

also if you take any ADD/ADHD meds like adderall or vyvanse remember to drink a lot because those meds are pretty dehydrating!

This is also a reminder for the ADD/ADHD crowd to eat a granola bar and log your calories to make sure you don’t get hypoglycemic.

Antihistamines (allergy meds) can dehydrate you as well.  Drink lots of water.  A lot of seizure medications can make you super sensitive to sunlight, causing you to burn more easily.  STAY IN THE SHADE!!!  Eat lots of protein and complex carbs to prevent low blood sugar, but don’t skip on at least a little salt in your diet. 

If you feel yourself overheating get inside and, if possible, take a cold or cool shower.

If you’re on prednisone for anything also be very careful with the sun because it can make you super sensitive to it as well. I look like a lobster because no one warned me about this and it isn’t fun. Not to mention the fact that it can also screw with your other meds, and if you’re dealing with bipolar disorder it can push you into full blown mania.

Hormonal birth control (and pregnancy) can both cause photo-sensitivity too!

When I was fifteen I was on both antidepressants and hormonal birth control. A weekend camping trip on the beach landed me in the hospital with heat exhaustion and a severe sunburn.

My favourite part of Deadpool was how Vanessa started as a sex worker and then remained a sex worker, because there’s nothing inherently wrong with being a sex worker.

Also, how Deadpool’s primary motivation was his own crippling insecurity about his physical appearance (even though there was no real indication that Vanessa would reject him because of his disfigurement), because everyone at some point in their lives feels that kind of insecurity.
