IDW First Aid | Mutualās only | Rules
Oh, First Aid needed some aiding as it would seem with the hugging the little medic. Since they got the hugging, Silverblade got for the little mech the goods:
"LITTLE HEALER, I HAVE BROUGHT YOU THE BOOK OF THE MAJESTICS TO START YOUR CYCLE~!"
It's a one WRECK of a read, judging by the cover pose of a Wrecker they called themselves.
Alright so today is a day for random hugs. Heās not complaining, but heād like there too be a reasonā
āWhatā?ā Heās confused at first why Silverblade is shouting but then he realizes what he means, his visor visibly brightens at the sight.
āWhy thank you Esbie.ā He forgot this existed, āThatās very kind of you,ā he chuckles.
@ofvaporex
The mech hadnāt checked in with him this morning. It was one thing if it was literally anyone else, but it wasnāt a Ratchet thing to do to not report this morning. While he was tempted to let this slide, he had a feeling that this one shouldnāt be let go.
His gut was usually right about that. He trusted that this could be necessary. If Ratchet just happened to not feel good Aid had prepared a concoction of medical grade energon. He has a feeling it would be appreciated if anything.
He stopped in front of Ratchetās hab suite, servo hovering over the door⦠he really doesnāt want to bother Ratchet right now, but he feels obligated as a both a medic and a friend. He finally knocks gently on the door.
āRatchet, Itās First Aid.ā
Well, there it is.
Ratchetās helm is pounding, and his spark feels tight and painful in his chest. He knows why- he had quit drinking for a multitude of reasons, not the least of which being his arrhythmia, and here he was. Laying on his berth in the aftermath of far too many Roadside Surgeries as he poured his spark out, frustrated and devastated by ancient guilt.
But First Aid has the ability to override his door lock- the perks of being CMO. And he knows not responding will only cause a panic. So he forces himself to sit up with a groan, rubbing his face as he squints against the lights coming up.
The least he can do is remote unlock the hab suite door, calling out in a weary, rough grumble:
āSāopen. Come on in, First Aid.ā
Aid had waited a little longer than he wanted, but he was exercising patience here⦠even if he wanted to, he couldnāt bring himself to barge in uninvited⦠not unless he knew it was dire. From the sound of Ratchetās voice alone, he knew he made the right call in bringing the med-grade.
The CMO opened the door and made sure the lights were dim at most. Aid made sure to emit through his EM field calm reassurance that he wasnāt mad⦠yet. He doesnāt know if he could bring himself to be mad with Ratchet to begin with⦠other mechs sure, but not Ratchet. The older mech had yet to earn Aidās frustration⦠but he was getting there.
āā¦ā he isnāt going to say anything as he approaches Ratchetās side. Aid pulls the energon from his subspace and takes a seat on the berth. His servo offers it to Ratchet without saying a word. If Ratchet was going to give an explanation, he wanted to hear it before making any assumptions.

Esbie holding his hand? Ahah⦠yes please? He isnāt going to tell the mech noā especially a nice looking one like Silverblade. He doesnāt even remember why the mech asked to hold his hand, the mech just came up to him asking to āhold thine handā.
Medic hands are special and sensitive, so to allow someone to hold his is a sign of trust. He trusts that whatever Silverblade needed his hand for it wonāt leave lasting damage⦠or any damage preferably.
āWhat is it?ā He asks gently.
Oh you know, he is here now to bestow a whirlwind hug to the unfortunate mech, set him down gently again and then transform to dash away! His speakers are blasting "My heart will go on". Surprise Affection! (sorry to just bestow this upon you, its a mood^^)
Aidās optics flashed in surprise at the āhit and runā that he was given⦠that just happened, and he canāt help the chuckle that escapes him.

X | relationship building
āHe worries meā¦ā First Aid sat in his hab suite after his shift. He called a close friend not long after that, āAnd I donāt mean that because Iām his treating doctor, I mean it as a friend. Ratchet has a little bit of a history for being self destructiveā Iām beyond relieved heās finally practicing some self care, but that part of me is just⦠you know.ā
ā⦠talk to him? Why the hell would I bother him about something minor?ā

āHmmmm⦠I feel this need to sneeze for some reason.ā
@paniiceaā (x)
ā-anyway, itās not so bad. Stormyās been busy with Perceptor lately, but Iāve done what I can to keep myself busy. Built my biggest device since joining just last week. Four whole hallways, and it started a Newtonās cradle going on the observation deck!ā
If she noticed she was still holding onto his hand, it was only peripherally, and she was beaming as he examined her optic. From the trauma sheād gone through with it what felt like ages back, the new optic had set in nicely, the orb behind the transparasteel pane tracking very closely with the original optic on the right.
Any other time, this examination may have put her extremely ill at ease. But talking⦠talking helps. Talking lets her forget for a while.
āItās when it gets quiet, you know? Thoughts get in too much then.ā
āIs that why the hallwayās were cleared?ā He had to take the long way just to hunt down a patient because of that. He couldnāt help but find it funny now, but at the time it was an annoyance.
He was starting to put his tools away as soon as he finished with the exam. Everything looked to be in proper working order, and while he could tell her that, it would be rude to interrupt. First Aid took a seat next to Nautica, his hand still held in hers as he gave her a nod.
āI understand that, Delphi was horribly quiet at times. It was always tense, especially when Pharma walked into the room. I learned a lot from him, but it felt like walking on thin ice. Ambulon was a stick in the mud too so talking to him was like cutting wires blindly.ā
Of course it was different now, but back then, aid still gets a chill down his spine thinking about it.

Send š¤ to hold my museās hand
It is taking everything in him to remain calm. Let it be known that First Aid has seen a lot of shit that would make most mechs do a double take or freeze in place. Itās not some traumatizing event that does this for First Aid.
No, all it takes is the right mech for the CMO to be at a loss for words. Someone he regards as some sort of hero heās only read about⦠someone he doesnāt know personally.
That someone happens to be Kup.
āUh⦠Hi.ā First Aid is showing a lot of restraint, heās read so much and this mech probably knows very little about him. This is becoming a very awkward handshake.
āI love your workā I mean Iām a big fan of the wreckers in general I just didnāt think Iād get a chance to meet youāā he decides now is a good time to just skip to the point, he can fanboy later, āanything I can help you with? Iām First Aidā how can I help?ā
Kup had come in for a check up.. which was usually Ratchet but he wasn't here and his anxiety about just being near any other medic was causing his field to spark horribly. Holding his arms close to his frame looking around.
Until his servos grabbed and shaken making Kup whip his helm to see who's grabbed him to decide fight or flight took over. A nervous ex-vent left the old mechs mouth, "I eh... yes hi," he tried not to seem rude but quickly took back his servo shoving it back to cross his arms again. "Thanks, kid.. I guess. Uhm Ratchet told me to speak to an...Abulon...Am.. Ambulon yes- or a First Aid for a check up. I'm I uh"
The old mech is wracked with nervousness...
Trust issues are a common thing these days, First Aid isnāt upset by this. He should have expected Kup to be hesitant. The first thing that Aid was taught, was to be patient with the patients. luckily Aid seemed to have never ending patience.
He hid the wince at the mention of Ambulon behind his mask. That topic doesnāt need addressing right away anyway.
āItās alright. I mentioned it before, but Iām First Aid. If Ratchet sent you my way then youāre in good hands. Is there anything in specific you need me to look into?ā
paniiceaā:
Aid couldnāt help the laugh that left him. Being the shortest medic among his colleagues this far isnāt a bad thing, but it certainly helps him feel less intimidating⦠or so he hopes. Regardless, Ratchetās bear hug is more than welcome as aid happily returns it and the emitted vibes.
Primus, heās starting to wonder if heās kept himself cooped up behind his desk a bit too long. The hug alone is enough to keep Aid going for years to come. When they finally release from the hug, First Aidās emotions are still written on his sleeve. And likewise, heās scanning Ratchet over, although it is for a different reason. Having been responsible for a former patient, Aid is pleased to see Ratchet in as good of condition as he has.
āThank you Ratchet. Someone left some pretty big shoes to fill as they say.ā Aid casually moves back over to the other side of the desk as Ratchet takes a seat. With all the excitement that was going on, Aid realized that he had left his datapad face up. He turns the device over as subtly as he can manage, though itās contents didnāt appear to hold anything incriminating.
Old habits die hard. Aidās attention is caught very quickly on the treats, his optics under the visor giving off a brief flare at seeing them.
āDonāt mind if I do,ā the CMO says as he reaches into the offered container and takes one of the sweets, āIām so glad you had a good time. I donāt know any other mech who could deserve a good time more than you do Ratchet⦠and you didnāt even party too hard.ā
Aid found himself chuckling. as small as it is, even if Ratchet didnāt laugh, Aid thought it was funny.
āHah! Ah, tempting as it was, I avoided places that may have caused me to slip back into old bad habits. I took my medication on time, did my scans, everything as required, Doctor.ā
Thereās a teasing hint in his voice, though itās clear heās lost no respect. This is Ratchet at his best, in good spirits and bright, energetic as a mech half his age. His time away may have been nice, but being home seems to really be whatās doing him good, and he snags a piece of candy himself.
If he noticed the datapad at all, itās clear he didnāt look. The habits of an old doctor are hard to break, which is probably for the best, and he canāt help but feel a little twinge of pride at First Aidās care- sure, itās medical 101, something all of them learned right off the bat. But heās known doctors who were miserable about patient confidentiality.
Heās always proud his medical team isnāt among that lot.
āI spent some time on some mech friendly worlds, hitting up some NAIL-run clinics. Thereās some interesting treatments theyāve come up with for maladies Iāve studied since I was in med school. Took down what I could- I know youāre into all kinds of cutting edge treatments and research, so I figured itād be right up your alley.ā
āAll wonderful newsā First Aid continued to praise the older mech as he lists what he has followed. As his Doctor heās pleased that Ratchet is taking the treatment seriously⦠as a friend, First Aid is overjoyed to know this.
Aid removes his faceplate and shoves the sweet in his hand into his mouth. A small piece of heaven as a human might say it. He finds himself perking up as Ratchet explains what else heās been doing while he was out. It forces him to finish the sweet much sooner than he wanted.
āYouāve come with all sorts of goodies for me havenāt you?ā Aid compliments, āfunny you should mention that, Iāve been doing some condensing of my own notes lately. Iād love to have a look at what you brought back.ā
Been working heavily on a house lately and am Running on fumes, activity is going to be really low until then ^^;
I was trying to see if I had any of my old emotes on my laptop and you know what...
