i was initially going to make an introduction as my first blog but i never finished it so i’ll try and upload one later on..

anyways, i’ve also posted this piece on tiktok already, but i wanted to talk about it here as well .

this piece is of empress consort alexandra feodorovna, the last empress or „𝘵𝘴𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘴𝘢/𝘵𝘴𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘢“ of russia and the wife of tsar nicholas II!!

she was initially born princess alix of hesse and by rhine, so she is not ethnically russian but german!! (hesse being a grand duchy of the german empire at the time and also briefly mentioned in hetalia as being germany‘s older brother). so it is kind of unfitting to draw russia as her but i mostly did it because i found her very pretty so..ƪ(˘⌣˘)ʃ

feodorovna was born on the 6th of june 1872 and was empress consort of nicholas II from their marriage 26 november 1894 to 2 march 1917 when they were forced to abdicate due to the russian revolution. maria and was murdered with the rest of the romanov family on the 17th of july 1918.

interestingly, in 1891 the romanov family were all recognised as martyrs and alexandra was canonised in 2000 as a saint and passion bearer by the russian orthodox church !! Σ੧(❛□❛ )
