“Have you been sailing for long?” Blake asks, cleaning her hands on her coat and leaning against the counter, face resting on her hand. She is watching Yang, and it’s as awkward as she though, but also a bit… nice. Her eyes are gentle and she is really, really good looking.
“As a fisherman, this is what, my third time? But I’ve sailed plenty of times for fun with my family.”
“For fun?”
“Well, they are retired pirates and hunters. You can keep them on land for only so long.”
Blake’s eyes sparkle. “Your family were hunters?”
Yang nods. Is it really that exciting? She always thought slaying monsters at the sea was pretty cool, but that’s because she always loved her mom’s stories. She is under the impression that for most people it’s a ruthless profession, reserved for those that don’t mind dying young. Like her mom. But then again, Blake is a pirate, she must not have the same risk aversion as most people.
