3A finale!

Couple days late as per usual... in my defence exams and seeing Hamilton in London had me caught up! (Didn't think it was possible, But Hamilton is even better that I expected it to be!) Anyways back to the realm of shadows...

1) Wow I know that most of the prisoners are traitors and evil and the such but that execution and shove into a hole seems waaayyy sadistic, or barbaric as Clary describes it... a much better description... this is why I didn't choose to study English 😂

2) Wow show Jia is waaayyy more evil than what I remember book Jia being...?

3) Why did Clary resurrect Valentine?!? For info on saving Jace?! Even an evil warlock knew that was the worst idea ever!

4) Whoops Clary I think you made the necromancy rune a bit more powerful than you intended 😂😂

5) They did the simon-mum banishment scene SO WELL! As upsetting it is, I really hoped they'd stay true to the books, and I think they've actually managed to do it in a better way that just religious views....

6) SIZZY!!!!!! YEEESSS!!! Can't wait for Sizzy to finally become an on screen reality... sorry Maia but we all know Sizzy is a better match

7) How is Clary so chill about strolling through piles of bodies killed by the man she just resurrected - even if her master plan was just to deactivate the rune she just seemed super sociopathic

8) Lilith: "I will never let anything bad happen to you" she says whilst simultaneously hurting him... hmmmm... seems trustworthy...

9) "There is no version of this where your Jace wakes up and comes home" - that's what evil Jace wouuullddd say 😂

10) MY HEART!!!! DAMN YOU MALEC!! EVERY TIME!

11) Noooooooo simon! Goddamn this episode has me on the verge of tears!!!

12) Clary and Sebastian sharing a life force?! Are they linking Clary and Sebastian rather than Jace and Sebastian then?!

14) ALECCCCC! My god this episode is a rollercoaster of couple scenes and really upsetting scenes I don't think I can cope!

15) FUCK YES! DAMN THAT END SCENE WAS GOOD!

Ok so... that has to have been their best midseason finale yet... (tbf there has only been a grand total of 3 but it was miles ahead of the others)!!! They've done it so well that I don't mind that it strays from the books in a big way with Clary being linked to Sebastian now rather than Jace, and Jace no longer being evil because it adds an air of not knowing to it... God how am I going to wait for the next half of the season...

That finale must be grounds for a season 4 renewal though surely! 😂😂 WATCH IT PEOPLE WE NEED A SEASON 4!!!

1) Lol nice try keeping a lid on it Clary, lasting roughly 30 seconds under the soul sword😂😂

2) Maryse is so much nicer now that she's divorced and deruned! She's making her way up my favourite character list...

3) Damnnn I normally have a high tolerance for pain but eyes rolling back in heads will always get to me 😂😂

4) "we can't lose each other" - oh I wonder what's going to happen 🤣🤣

5) "I'm glad it's gone" - well yeah clary you would be, you got your wish 😂😂 Did they explain why she wasn't subjected to the soul sword after they killed Valentine - I would have thought the Clave would want absolute confirmation that Valentine was dead rather than just trusting his daughter who is new to their laws etc.

6) Jeez the room of dead Clary's... that's... Not what i was expecting... although I guess I should have been expecting it from his dreams before he turned fully evil... poor jace...

7) I'm a really really bad judge of acting but all their acting in the dream world seemed so much better than normal... especially Dom cus Alec and Izzy are pretty good normally anyways

8) Lol Alex's promise lasted about as long as Clary's secret keeping 😂

9) looks like it's the end if MaiaXSimon... maybe Sizzy will start up soon whilst Maia is gone if they stick to the cheating story line... it didn't look like their goodbye was a definitive break up...

10) Wow Jia is really putting the shadowhunter motto into practise with her punishment... where are the blackthorns when you need them - A bad law is no law, after all 😂

S3E7

Apologies for the lack of a post last week, exams are starting next week and I am more than stressed rn... Soooooo one way to destress - watching this week's (And may I add, surprisingly funny) episode of Shadowhunters!

1) Damn evil Jace throwing Clary off of a building - that's some hard core evil right there! Shame her injuries weren't dragged out a bit more tho, one second she's dying and the next she's back at the institute, perfectly healthy without even an iratze scene!

2) YES ALEC!!! Lucky Clary getting the rarely observed in the wild daddario hug! 😂 And then to top it all off we get a Malec scene aswell!

3) Sooo...Lillith thinks Jace is a "smart boy" for knowing Sebastians father is Valentine? She clearly didn't watch all the sibling and "i am your father" drama of the first 2 seasons

4) In the books I really don't get why Maia would ever get back with Kyle after all he's put her through and I feel the same with what we've seen so far in the show too - I know we've mainly seen/heard the negatives and not really focused *that* much on the good stuff other than the dream to move to figi... But he was just so unsupportive of her and then turned her... And I know that's because of his werewolf emotions going cray but I don't think that's something you can just get over... And I guess in the book she never really does (COHF😷😷)

5) Couldn't Imogen have iratzed herself first and then sent the message....?

6) YES SIMON finally some turning people into ash action from the mark of Cain!!!! So the show is playing the mark if Cain as a mundane shredder but only a maimer of the downworld

7) YES YES YES this has been a good episode showing a lot of book solidarity!!! Some actual rune action from Clary!!!!!!! Wahey!!! I've been waiting what feels like 2 seasons for a new rune sesh!

8) Omg I laughed more than I should have at the Maia turning scene - imagine being dragged into the woods by a wolf only to look up and see your ex FULLY NAKED directly above your head 😂😂

9) "Tragic jewlerry making accident" - Omg that cracked me up 😂😂 I think I'm starting to prefer this evil Jace the sass-meister more than normal Jace!

S3E5

Sorry it’s another late one this week guys due to impending exams and a lack of revision (I blame Netflix)....

1) Clary stopping Jace going to the city of bones despite knowing about Jace’s mothers mental health issues - I get that she wants to help Jace and doesn’t want people knowing about the wish but she could’ve helped prevent a whole word of pain to herself and others!

2) Alec wearing Magnus’ shirt made be fangirl so hard, but then Magnus rejected his moving in plan and my heart broke a little bit (even though I know that Magnus is right and being real world sensible, but it’s not the real world so can he just move in already?!). I suspect Camille may be returning soon to put the fear of immortality into Alec... :(

3) Where was Will Herondale in Magnus’ memory chest?

4) Izzy’s new mundane doctor love interest is quickly wiping out any memory of my Saphael ship! Unfortunately, I can see him meeting a sticky end very soon, after all how long can it be until he is accidently exposed to the shadow world?

5) Clary’s comment to Luke of: “I didn’t know you had a farm”, entertained me because Clary clearly hasn’t read the books that she stars in (and yes I do mean Clary the character... I have a strange sense of humour), or else she would probably recognise the farm that she used to holiday in with Luke and her mum!

6) I guess Clary’s language studies are going pretty well in the institute as I certainly wouldn’t have been able to coherently repeat the latin that Amatis was spouting!

7) Poor Ithuriel! But I think that was kinddaaa expected given that they were doing the whole “lets very slowly reveal who the main evil person that you have been searching for is, but before they finally get to the end of their long winded dramatic reveal... we’ll kill them! No one could possibly see that coming!”

8) Simons dancing did make me chuckle a bit - although I was distracted eagerly awaiting Maia to walk into Kyle... Guess that’s a plot for the next episode!

9) RIP Clace (for now anyways), can’t waaaiiitt for Sebastian to come back and for the Jace-Sebastian global bromance trip :’)

S3E4

It’s only been a couple of days since my last shdowhunter analysis - not much this week though so you can all breath a sigh of relief!

1) The arrival of Jordan Kyle! He isn’t how i imagined him at all, not sure why just doesn’t really fit that well for me - but we have seen very little of him so far so I’m sure he’ll grow on me!

2) Looks like Heidi is going to replace Maureen in the rogue vampire storyline, I’m a little confused how Raphael was bested by her given that he’s a much older vampire than her, but maybe it’s because he’s still grieving etc.? Looks like this ends the chance of Saphael ever happening... :(

3) No not Magnus!!!!!!!!! Clace was an inevitable victim of Lillith having read the books, but noone touches Malec!!!! (ofc Malec isn’t as stable in the books as they have been so far in the show but Lillith doesn’t need to mess it all up!) My current prediction is that Magus is going to get in trouble for helping Lillith (despite not knowing who she is) and Alec is going to have to punish him, as head of the institute... We’ll see...

S3E3

Sorry it’s late owing to me being on holiday and cut off from any internet for a week! Here’s my (always thrilling) analysis of, I guess now, last weeks episode of shadowhunters:

1) Confirmation that the Mark of Cain didn’t kill the werewolf... What’s up with that? I guess it makes for an easier show development that they can maim some of their more prominent characters without killing them...?

2) Rapheal and his sister! Such a nice scene! The show is really improving Rapheal’s character for me over book Raphael and I never thought Rizzy would be something I would ship from reading the books but everytime they have a scene together they just seem so perfect (apart from the obvious toxicity of their addictions and me still being 98% Sizzy)

3) Heidi - I was very confused about who she was when she came on but after a cheeky google I discovered that she was the human that was turned all the way back in season 2! I presume her role is going to unfold later in the series - maybe replacing Maureen as the killing spree vampire?? Speaking of Maureen - where is she?

6) Maryse being exiled?! But she was just becoming a nice person! On second thoughts, maybe the exile is making her a nicer person by relieving her of her duty? In any case, she was very sweet to Magnus and has clearly joined side Malec (probably the very last person in the world to do so)

7) Something extrememly inconsequential, and very much not worth mentioning, that I found very unrealistic was how Jace, Clary and Izzy (and Izzy’s new guy - who is most certainly going to die soon) managed to talk and understand each other inside a club?! I would just say ‘ahhh must be a shadowhunter thing’ if it wasn’t for Izzy new mundane boy toy who seemingly has this shadowhunter gift too!

8) YES EVIL JACE - I’m very slow so it took me until Izzy told Clary that it wasn’t Jonathon to realise that evil Jace was finally making an appearance!!! My excitement has peaked! Cannot wait for episode 4 (although it’s not like I have to wait long!)

9) I was really hoping that the final shot of Jonathon would feature a dramatic eye open but alas no such luck

Another week, another much anticipated episode of shadowhunters! As always, here are some of my key questions/points about the latest episode:

1) Magnus no longer the high warlock?! What is this witchcraft?! I want Magnus back!!!! Who even is this Lorenzo fella?

2) Alec was so super cute with Madzie - Can’t Malec to get on and adopt their kids already (although I guess they wouldn’t name their kids Max and Raphel with them both still being alive at this point)!

3) Clace’s date - Clary looked amazing, shame Jace doesn’t know how to shut up! Although, he did save it with speech (and then ruined it again with the death dream)...

4) Did the Mark of Cain actually kill the werewolf?? To me it just looked like he hurt him a little? Where was the total annihilation I was waiting for?

SEASON 3!

So I’m a bit late on this one and I apologise for the lack of posts recently owing to my transition to university life! Season 3 is finally here!!

I must say that I really did enjoy this latest episode, although it seems to be straying further and further from my beloved book series. As always, the cast are really living up to, and exceeding, expectations! Even Katherine and Dom, whom I have been known to be slightly sceptical of in the past seem to be getting more into the characters I know and love.

A few (7) things to comment on:

1) The Mark of Cain being bestowed by the Seelie queen? Not such a bad change, but would have been nice to see Clary’s special affinity for runes be put to more use seeing as its only really been used so far to shoot sunlight at demons.

2) Evil Jace - now this I am very excited for, the city of lost souls was one of my favourites of tmi and I cannot wait for Jace to go full on cuckoo - I feel like Dom is more suited for evil Jace than normal Jace tbh

3) Simons relationship with the seelies - a bit of a strange devlepment for me - can’t really remember this from the books but that may just be because its time for a re-read!

4) Clace - YES finally! I mean they don’t hold a candle to Malec (Clearly the OTP of TMI) but definitely one of the best couples and we finally get to see them, even if it will only be a short lived romance before Jace embraces the newfound evil in him - I guess we better enjoy it while we can!

5) Maia and Simon - as cute as they are, I need them to end so that Sizzy can properly begin!!!!

6) I’m still missing Jocelyn and its looking ever more unlikely that she will ever return which upsets me since they were one of the constant couples throughout the books and how can the show end without their marriage like the books!?!?

7) I’m eagerly awaiting the return of Sebastian!!!! I would seem that I just like a bit of chaos in TMI universe - I do actually like the good characters I promise!
