So, I am doing an art giveaway where I will create a custom drawing for each of the winners. I will pick a first, second and third place winner. Here are the rules:

- The end of this giveaway will be on January 8th, 2018 at 11:59 pm Eastern Standard Time - You must be following me to participate. - To enter all you have to do is reblog this. matthew daddario: expectations versus reality

the sound of wailing cut through the still air like a knife.

“alexander.” magnus murmered, eyes still closed, tapping his husband lightly. the other man groaned and buried his face further into magnus’ neck, hooking a leg over his torso.

“alexander gideon lightwood-bane.” magnus tried again, poking alec a little harder now. alec shook his head furiously, the wailing from the other room getting louder.

“it’s your turn, my dove,” magnus mumbled, opening his eyes now and kissing his husband’s still closed eyelids. “you wanted a child, this is what you get.”

“but i’m so comfortable,” alec protested weakly, following magnus’ lips blindly and making the warlock chuckle. “could you do two nights in a row? just this once? please?”

“we had a deal.” magnus pointed out.

“i’ll make it up to you.” alec replied, trying to sound seductive but ended up sounding even more tired.

“nope. come on, get up and go be a father.” magnus gave alec a nudge and alec grumbled as he sat up, rubbing his face sleepily while padding out of their room. magnus listened carefully, hearing the cries of their child soften and alec’s low, groggy voice coo soothing words of love and affection.

a minute later, alec came back, but not alone.

“i, uh, thought he could sleep here tonight with us.” he explained rather sheepishly as the baby snuffled and snuggled into him. magnus smiled, nodding and making room for alec and their son to slide into bed, alec gently placing the sleeping child in the middle.

“by the angel, he’s so tiny,” alec whispered, playing with the baby’s fingers. “i’ll never get over how tiny he is.”

“and he snores, too, just like his father.” magnus laughed and alec mockingly glared at him.

“i don’t snore, magnus.”

“alright, alexander, alright.” they laid down next to their baby, careful not to disturb him as he kicked in his sleep.

“you know, even though we have to get up early and change diapers and are constantly stressed and worried, it’s so worth it.” alec stated, intertwining magnus’ fingers with his own. magnus pressed a kiss to the back of alec’s hand.

“i couldn’t agree more.”
