“Alright. To serve the ball, you hold it out in your non-dominant hand, while you swing your other arm above your head... Then, you throw the ball, step forward, and strike the ball with the heel of your dominant hand. I can do that!”

Cordelia tossed the volleyball into the air and hit it with all her might, letting out a short battle cry: “YAH!” It sailed over the practice net and bounced into the sand on the other side.

She smiled triumphantly. “I think I’m ready for the game! I hope I can serve my team well, haha.”

My basic requirements include some form of an about and rules. I always read rules before following, since I expect people to do so for me. An about is an absolute must for any OCs, but I may let it slide for canon characters if they don’t deviate too much from canon.

Other than that, I prefer blogs that are easy to read. I hate most “container” themes, since the font is often really tiny and links aren’t always obvious. My Helios blog has about as close to a typical container-style RP theme as I’ll go. I know my theme choices aren’t orthodox, but I like to be able to look at my own blog without having to squint to make out the words. Also, I write in cursive constantly and even I can’t read most of those fancy fonts y’all use for italics. These are annoyances to me, but not deal-breakers.

I hope this doesn’t sound elitist of me, but I like seeing beautiful, unique blogs. Though you shouldn’t compromise readability for aesthetics, for me, seeing the default tumblr theme is a big turn-off – it looks like you’re too lazy to put any effort into customizing your blog (though I know that’s rarely the case). In fact, I can get a little intimidated by those with very fancy themes… I appreciate the time and effort it takes to get your blog to look that nice.

Cordelia strived to be talented, but humble. She could not ignore her natural gifts, but she frequently downplayed them and belittled herself to better fit in with her peers.

Nothing crushed her spirit more than being called a “genius” by the people she admired most.

The other pegasus knights were hazing the poor new recruit like there was no tomorrow, and she had no idea how much more she could take. She could not refuse orders from her superiors, and she wanted to prove herself worthy... Yet she feared if they pushed her too far, she and/or her pegasus partner could be seriously wounded, ending their military career prematurely. The last thing she wanted was to be sent home or for harm to befall her beloved steed.

Thus, Cordelia approached her squadron leader, Phila.

“Excuse me, Commander...” she said, hoping her anxiety was not evident in her voice. “I was wondering if I could talk to you about the whole... ‘genius’ thing.”
