look who it is, adrasteia greengrass ! the eldest daughter of ares greengrass. she is a seventh year slytherin who is a part of salazar's army. some describe her as effusive, but she has also been called mendacious.

starter for @txmpx ( eddy ! )
susan could rarely leave the hospital wing during working hours ; if she were to do so, sod’s law states that a serious occurrence would take place while she was unavailable.
and while she may have let go of any desire to follow the steps of her family into ministerial territory ( particularly when the institution seems to be a husk , rotting from within & employing ex-death eaters and followers of cato slytherin’s neo-death eater doctrine ) she definitely hadn’t let go of the pressure to be perfect at whatever life path she did decide to follow. however , there was one exception — one override button — her children. and they seemed to utilise this privilege to encourage their mother to take care of herself , or force her to , if she wouldn’t.
‘ i don’t know what you worry about so much, love, ’ she gazed upward at eddy , wondering how he had grown so much in what felt like so little time. the smile on her features was . . . assisted , if you knew what she meant. and if you didn’t , she wouldn’t be explaining it. ‘ i’m doing okay. ’

‘ are you dealing with the entire greengrass family now ? ’
cecilia rosier — the longest-term pain in theodore nott’s backside, and yet the one with which he seemed the most willing to deal — languished quite contentedly in her best friend’s office doorway ; apparently if you held a library textbook and looked even vaguely professional , you had a fairly good chance at blending in within the castle.
if she’d run into either ares or aelius , one current and one former co-worker , they’d likely have ended her charade out of spite , but it appeared the auror was on a certain run of luck.
‘ your beloved’s been showing me this muggle show called keeping up with the kardashians, and while it is so bloody funny to watch their struggles , the greengrasses make them look functional ! idyllic , even ! ’
𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐲 𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐞𝐭!
Nyx was hidding behind one of the walls at the dungeons, she had planned the perfect prank and she was waiting for her next prey. Her eyes were locked in the potion’s classroom door, wanting to see how the first-years walked outside of their classroom and walked towards her prank. She was really concentrated and she didn’t hear someone approaching her. As she felt the presence of someone standing behind her she took her hand to the person’s mouth “Shhh, you’re going to ruin my whole plan” she said in a whisper. “You have to options, staying here or walk away” she said the blonde with a smile on her lips.
fingers carefully wrapped around nyx’s wrist and pulled her hand away from her mouth ; a deadly calm motion , yet carrying with it an aura that inspired such . . . dread. it was a mistake to attempt tomfoolery in the slytherin dungeons , as it would always bring the head of slytherin out , as though she could . . . sense it somehow. hear it.
( which wasn’t necessarily far from the truth , the natural-born legilimens scarcely having to make effort in order to overhear secret schemes if one was foolish enough to let them linger upon their thoughts. )
‘ option three : you dispel that , or spend the next three nights in detention : more , if professor greengrass sees fit to further punish you for . . . victimising his first years. ’
elias had finished quidditch pratice and decided to go check on his mom, see how she was doing. the man made his way up to his mother’s classroom and entered her office noticing another student there. “you know, i think it’s past curfew, you wouldn’t want to get a detention already.” he stated to the guy. “also, you might be able to push your charm on another teacher, this one, is the best one in the school, it’s not going to work.” he smirked before the guy left. “hey mom.” @paradiisecircus (mom)
elena burke was not in the mood to deal with students’ blathering. not that this was a revolutionary statement ; her suddenly becoming a readily listening ear for most people’s trials and tribulations would have her sons checking her temperature and ensuring she had not been surreptitiously replaced by an impostor. so as it were , elias’ arrival was opportune , and he was somewhat of a saviour to the sixth year ravenclaw boy currently stood in the office of the defence against the dark arts professor & head of slytherin.
( ire was just beginning to tighten her features , a creeping shadow banished by the appearance of one of those she held most dear. the student glanced to the head boy & quickly scarpered , leaving the two burkes alone —
— but not before she was able to sternly intone ‘ the door , ’ to remind the fearful figure not to bolt halfway down the corridor without closing it. seeing how his back stiffened ramrod straight as though shocked by something cold — fear , more than likely — she couldn’t restrain a chuckle. people really were scared by everything & anything she did in this place. )
‘ hello, darling. now tell me , is the appropriate response to such flattery “ thank you, ” or “ i know ” ? ’ she mused , lips forming an easy smile now that her attention could fully rest on her son. ‘ i suppose i have said both now, anyway , and mean both. how have you been ? ’
the invitation included all types of discussion , whether related to the task he had put upon himself or not.
There were a few things an ex-Death Eater couldn’t shake. At least not the actual ones that devoted their soul to the killings of muggleborns and anything that was considered impure to the wizardry race. Susan Bones was just one of the many victims of Voldemort and his followers, having lost her parents during the second war. While he was not the cause, he was there and the fact that the Bones family along with others had survived lit a burning fire in his soul.
His body leaned against the framing of the matron’s office door, located right inside the hospital wing. He didn’t know why in particular he felt the need to stop by but he knew if there was anything to gain this year, it would be torturing those who he deemed unworthy of survival. “Susan Bones, you haven’t aged so well.” Aelius commented, a playful smirk appearing on his face, amused immediately by her reaction. “But then again, I’d imagine with your wife missing, you’d look as terrible as you do.”

if only it were simply her parents , perhaps she’d be more adept at shouldering it all ; less of a modern atlas , all the burdens of the world seeming to fall upon slim shoulders and never ceasing to mount. but no , one of the things that was now upon her — and her children — was the survival of the bones family that aelius greengrass so resented.
no, her family almost exclusively rested in graves before their time : her grandparents and parents. her uncle edgar , his wife and her young cousins , when she was but a baby. and then , of course , her aunt amelia — childhood idol , stern ministry stalwart — murdered when susan was but a sixteen-year-old girl in hogwarts’ halls.
( the death eaters’ vendetta against them in particular had been quite thorough , and she had believed that she would join them throughout the year when they controlled hogwarts. had she endured hell that still haunts her at night ? certainly — and she never spoke of it. not even to cho , and certainly never to her children. but she did not die , and this fact baffled her even in the present moment. )
susan bones was never , had never , been a woman quick to anger. but men like aelius being in positions at the ministry , at hogwarts , trusted to teach the impressionable . . . had they truly learned no lessons from the first or second wars ? how many would she be forced to live through ?
it filled her with equal parts dread and anger.
in spite of this anger , she still flinched — however barely — at the sight of his face , at how he looked at her. at the salt he ruthlessly poured into a wound that would never heal so long as it stayed ; her fist clenched at her side , knuckles whitening, and her voice was frailer , not nearly as authoritative as it had sounded in her head.
‘ if you intend to just hang around and antagonise me with the weakest of the arguments available to you , you ought to leave. we both have better things to do with our time. ’

look who it is, susan bones ! the only child of ophelia palmer and elijah ' eli ' bones. she is a former hufflepuff, who is the matron of the hospital wing, and aligns with the second dumbledore's army. some describe her as gentle, but she has also been called fragile.
‘ oh — excuse me, ’ she offered a faint smile of greeting, ‘ i’m a bit lost. ’
( katerina’s consciousness of being a famous world-cup winning seeker & player for a prominent british domestic quidditch team was not turned up to high today, it seemed. it was quite normal for teams to scout at matches for up-and-coming quidditch talent to recruit at the domestic & national levels. )
‘ — coach sent me to scout at the match today because our regular scout’s off sick, but i think i’ve been going in circles ! ’
leilani had set up a prank on some salazar army members at hogwarts who tried to attack one of leilani’s muggle-born friends. she just had to wait for them to come walking by, but instead of them she noticed her sister. “no, delilah stop.” she said. “don’t go any further, there is something that isn’t set up for you and i also wouldn’t want to prank you.” she said. @paradiisecircus (delilah)
delilah skidded to a half mid-skip ; the hufflepuff pivoting on one foot to face her sister : suspicious & curious all at once. ‘ what’ve you done ? ’ she asked. not that she’d ever snitch on leilani — she wouldn’t, ever — and anything against salazar’s army members would seem like fair play to lilah. ‘ and, uh, thanks for not pranking me, too. ’
look who it is, katerina vulchanova ! the only child of clara ivanova and pyotr vulchanov. she is a 26 year old professional quidditch player, who is a durmstrang alumni, who sides with neutrals. some describe her as generous, but she has also been called a gossip. they are in hogsmeade because she’s chilling with her teammates.
theirtears:
“I don’t suppose you’re a student.” It was the young professor’s attempt at a joke, a way to somehow lighten the mood and perhaps even make conversation. He wasn’t the greatest at it, but he was capable of make some if he had to. In this case, he did find it to be necessary. Olive hues examined her carefully for a moment, only to dart down towards his feline companion who now joyfully rubbed himself against her leg. “Just passing by?”
oh —
so perhaps there were no such first impressions , and such came as a wonderfully pleasant surprise ; her natural pessimism jumping ahead of her. living through the things she had thus far would inspire cynicism and hopefulness in equal measure , and it was always a gamble where she would sway on any given day.
( either which way , her heart always meant well. )
‘ what gave you that impression ? ’ cecilia played along , humour humming through her tone, gaze briefly drifting to see the appeased feline. animals had always taken well to her, though she’d no idea why. ‘ oh, i wish i were ; much easier than being essentially chained to work. and yourself ? ’
Draven stood by, watching as his familiar happily rolled around on a small pile of dead leaves outside. Small pieces of them stuck to his long, black fur, Narvi only managing to purr in response to the sensation. That is, until another person nearby caught his attention, in which he rolled to his belly in response. Narvi rose to his paws, stretching for a moment before finally deciding to approach the person, carefully sniffing at their shoe. Draven dug his hands into his jacket’s pockets, shooting the person an apologetic look. “Sorry, he’s a little curious about people.”
‘ he’s alright, i don’t mind . . . ’
cecilia assured, watching the cat play with a vaguely interested expression ; after her own hogwarts experience, the former gryffindor had quickly decided that looking after animals wasn’t featured in her skillset and that she oughtn’t burden another with her companionship ever again. up to this point, she had honoured this verdict, but it was in moments like this that she was most tempted to . . . stray.
oh. he’s one of the lestranges’ kids, which probably means he’s heard all the stories about ‘ that rosier girl ’ from the sacred twenty-eight connections — perhaps even her own family — wonderful.
reputations were quickly ascribed here at hogwarts school of witchcraft & wizardry , and professor burke’s handful of years’ experience as the defence against the dark arts professor & head of slytherin were more than sufficient. there was a running aversion to speaking her name aloud lest it summon her ( much like the late lord voldemort himself ) around the corner , with her penchant for incisive remarks & proceeding almost silently through the corridors , and this was not entirely unfounded.
as the student unfortunate enough to catch her attention while commenting on something — ‘ don’t tell burke i said that , ’ and there was a distinct tone when she was the subject and not one of her sons — would find out, when she indeed glided around the corridor, brows raised:
‘ don’t tell me what, exactly ? ’
