The Sims 4 Mod: Social Event Refresh
Social Event Refresh overhauls social events in The Sims 4 to use the activity system, along with other improvements. With this mod, no two social events will be the same!
Choose from over 100 activities. The game will generate goals based on the selected activities. Main goals are still the same, and some events require certain goals.
All interactions for planning any kind of event have been moved to a new phone app named "Event Planner" to keep things more organized. Additionally, interactions start immediately, without having to wait for an animation to complete.
You can invite Sims that anyone in the household knows, not just the initiating Sim.
You can invite Sims of any age from Toddler and above as both hosts and guests for most events.
You can invite anyone your Sim knows, including "special" NPCs like the Grim Reaper that would normally not be allowed.
You can select Sims from outside the household as the host. This doesn’t change how goals work, but lets you simulate being invited by another Sim.
All Sims in the event will automatically be added to a group. This makes performing “Do X Together” interactions easier.
Hired roles (Bartender, Entertainer, etc) have been removed from the Plan a Social Event UI and replace with activities like “Hire Bartender”. There are more to choose from and you gain points for completing them.
Wedding Events from My Wedding Stories have actual goals with rewards. Wedding Ceremony and Vow Renewal events will give the same rewards as base game Weddings, Dinner events will give the same rewards as Dinner Parties and other events will give the same rewards as House Parties.
Ranch Animal Day and Ranch Gathering events have new main goals (Interact with Animals and Hosts Socialize with Guests, respectively). Originally, the goal was to make Sims Happy at the same time, which was very annoying since any other positive emotion overrides Happy. Ranch Animal Day also works with any animal from any pack - you no longer have to have Mini Goats or Mini Sheep.
If you have Seasons, there are new holiday traditions for hosting or attending social events that allow you to blend events with holidays.
The above changes apply to most events from all packs, but some - like funerals - are excluded as those are special types of events that work differently from normal ones.
20th August 2025 - Updated for patch 1.117
10th July 2025 (post release) - Social events can now be held at Small Business venues. Also, there is a new holiday tradition for Mountain Climb Excursions from Snowy Escape.
