I’m Madeline-aka Paradoxist. I’ve played the sims 4 actively since 2018, more so after the horse ranch expansion came out. I’m new to creating CC, but as an incredibly burnt-out artist, it’s been really fun to learn and create things.

I’m mostly active on The Equestrian Sims and Canterwood discord servers, but I plan to branch out! Feel free to DM me on discord or instagram-I do my best to reply in a timely manner.

why i keep creating

I've been thinking a lot lately about friendship, community, and how random it is that we've all ended up here at the same time through mutual passion for a barely functional decade old game. It's a privilege to get to spend my free time making content for ts4, and it's fun for me, but it can be really isolating.

Negativity tends to be louder than positivity and it's hard not to get lost in it, but it's a choice what to focus on.

I'm so beyond grateful for my mutuals, and friends who aren't on tumblr, you keep me motivated and make creating and playing the game worth it ❤️

The entitlement from some of you is actually INSANE.

Creators owe you absolutely nothing, and with the way things are going in this community, I’d be surprised if many of us continue to create for the public.

It’s disappointing to watch you all throw tantrums over pixels, if you want it that bad, learn how to make it your damn self instead of throwing a pity party.

Okay but why would a prominent member of the ts4 cc community and experienced 3D modeller steal the mesh of a total beginner and- *checks notes* ... Use an alt account to pay real money to access a paywalled mesh, 'blow up' the mesh to 'hide the evidence', 'refine it', remap the UVs completely and add new textures, spending hours making a single 'rustic' mesh look polished... when it would take less time to simply make a new mesh from scratch?

The obvious and most parsimonious answer is 'sometimes two people use the same reference material unknowingly', and that doesn't constitute theft.

Debunking Myths

Hey everyone.

This'll probably be the last post from me!

I won't be creating anymore, as I'm sure you've probably noticed. I'm not really bothered if things get sent around and reuploaded, because that's the nature of the Sims community.

I spotted a reddit post claiming I'd been caught stealing from the Sims 3 community, so I thought I'd do some quick debunking.

Here's a photo taken from Elin's website, which you can see had my Tumblr page linked all this time because I was officially one of the people converting IHTL stuff!

My Valentines collection was actually all meshed from scratch APART from the headband, which I used an EA mesh for out of pure laziness. Just because two meshes look very similar doesn't mean they're stolen! People use the same inspiration photos.

They aren't even the same shape, not to mention just how awful my topology is compared to the incredible ones Elin made!

The Valentines jump was actually created by Dalman Jump Co IRL! I intentionally made my version a little bit different to stay respectful.

Please always do your research and don't just assume things! If you're that convinced, speak to the creator or check the mesh yourself. This kind of behaviour in the community is exactly why so many of us have chosen to leave.
