in so many ways valve and tf2 have really devolved in terms of public image as a game developer/game IP for a lot of reasons but man. there was nothing like tf2. the humor was so one-of-a-kind, so witty and fresh and distinct that to this day it's still clever. the visual style is so unique that the designs and models still look good despite being nearly 20 years old. there was absolutely nothing like being a tf2 player or even a valve game player during its peak. you knew you were playing some of the best. there's a reason why this game changed the face of the internet forever. there will never ever be another team fortress 2.
