“Audiences love multi-faceted characters but when they talk about claudia, they talk about how angry she is all the time, do not reduce her to that (…) shes’s actually full of love and extremely delicate”

#i think especially because the last thing we see of claudia is her at her angriest #it can be easy for people to forget how full of life and curious and loving and sweet claudia is #i think people are really missing out by defining claudia solely based on the seance scene #and imho i think it speaks to a lack of ability for audiences to sit with the fullness of a black female character #there’s so much softness in her. it does her characterization such a disservice to solely focus on her (righteous) anger
