i never want context
Oh my god, they sprang this on us in our old church years ago, and my family has never let this joke die.
Okay, here’s the stupid gender essentialist metaphor:
Women are like spaghetti because their thoughts noodle all over the place. Men are like waffles because there thoughts are in boxes. Men aren’t bad listeners, they just can’t keep up with a conversation when women are noodling topics so fast and they have to keep switching boxes. Also, when a woman asks a man what he’s thinking and he says “nothing” women just don’t understand that some of a man’s boxes literally have nothing in them, haha!
….. :|
Anyway, if you think me and my brothers and my mom don’t constantly give each other sad, tragic faces and say “I’m sorry, my waffle box is empty today” and “noodle faster!” and “you are failing at being a waffle” and “I can’t be clearer, I am a plate of spaghetti” pretty much indiscriminately in all directions all the time…. you would be wrong.
Occasionally the context of a Dadaist post makes it even better.
SIGNAL BOOST!!
Hey Everyone!
A friend of mine recently had a devastating blow. Her entire bathroom flooded and the room had to be torn out.
Right now she’s living at home with her elderly mother after recent surgery so really needs help and can’t afford to lack hygiene trying to keep her wounds clean etc.
Please guys, if you could give anything at all it would be greatly appreciated.
If you can’t give anything, can you please share so we can get this as much attention as possible.

boosting because i’ve been there when it comes to sudden emergency plumbing issues :(
1 month
It’s been exactly 1 month since my sweet dog Whiskey crossed the rainbow bridge
I have a lot of feelings, but mostly it still feels unreal
His fav treat was a piece of cheese, so maybe if your pet likes cheese (or any other treat) you can give them a bit in his honour tonight
Derek & I will be having some cheese tonight as well.
I miss my lil guy so much. <3
I have slowly been talking about this in various spaces, but I think i’m ready to post here. On Dec 31st, 2018, my sweet boy Whiskey, who I’d shared 17 amazing years with, crossed over the rainbow bridge. I had known him and loved him even before his dog-mom gave birth, and I still remember getting the call that she was finally having her pups, including the one who would be by my side for over half my life.
My heart is broken, and I’m having a really hard time coping right now, but I know he’s happy and no longer dealing with any of his old dog ailments anymore, and that in his final moments, could hear me telling him what a good boy he is and how much i love him and always will.
Cuddle your pets for me, and if it’s safe for them, maybe offer a tiny bit of cheese in Whiskey’s memory; it was his absolute favourite treat.
Please understand if I don’t reply to comments/msgs for a lil while.

Clownie the Cloth Doll
Another long term patient went home recently, Clownie the cloth doll. I don’t have many dolls up here, so I thought I’d share her story with you. I’ll be putting Orangie the Raggedy Ann up at some point in the future, but right now, while clean, she still needs new arms and legs!
So… Clownie. Clownie was sixteen when she arrived at the hospital, and as you can see, she had had a LOT of adventures:
She was scheduled for a spa, hand recovering, a new nose, shoe repair, and all new clothes (including a replacement hat). The clothes took a while, because we had to mail order just the right dots.
Here she is in the spa:
Believe it or not, her hat was originally yellow!
Here is Clownie as she started surgery. She’s clean, and these were fabric options for her new hand recovering:
Don’t worry, I know her face and eye are off a bit here!
Her person was concerned about her hands, so I took a lot of photos as they were done. Here you can see one original, cleaned:
And how it was recovered:
Clownie got a heart with a little of her original stuffing put in:
And her new clothes were cut out of all new fabric using her old clothes as a pattern:
She got a new jumper, new removable collar, and new hat. And her face got fixed up. Here she was, ready to go home:
Pretty happy, don’t you think? And she made it home safe and sound! Her person in Ohio wrote:
Clownie looks super awesome! Good as new!
Clownie has finally arrived! I was so happy to see her again earlier today. Thank you so much for all your hard work on her. She looks amazing!
I really can’t thank you enough!
This blog makes me so happy
