Alright we got 5 notes yippie!!
- ocean!green is a marine biology major alongside Richard!!! (Ik not lawyers? CrazyâŠ.). This isnât based on any legit college but if one of these majors can make a significant and new enough discovery, they get all their student debt paid for. One summer, a lot of them get to intern in an actual lab, which is where we meet Green and Richard.
- fey are excited to find something, almost dangerously so. Richard could care less about the money aspect, heâs just the only one who notices when Green starts disappearing for increasingly longer periods of time.
- thatâs because fey are getting caught up in the ocean shit lmao. The first time they disappeared is when, while on a boat project, some unseen force knocked only them under the water with the intention of drowning them
- fey didnât die lmao. Fey instead get rescued by Kaylen/CB, someone who looks eerily human with gills, webbed fingers/toes, overly sharp teeth, just overall with features that are definitely way more aquatic than human. Kaylenâs freaked tf out that fey nearly died and give them a warning not to come too close to the ocean again if fey arenât near shore.
- all Green really took from that is âyooooo I got my free college ticket!!!!!â Lmao
- fey keep coming to visit kaylen, trying to learn more about him and his âspecies,â despite his insistence that heâs a normal human and that fey should seriously stop getting in these waters.
- his evolved abilities are basically the only reason why Green survives in this story lmao
- anyways. Idk how to introduce the other roles from here BUT:
- Ash is the God of Neptune (like the planet. Thereâs gods and theyâre all connected to a celestial body of sorts) but have been harboring in Earthâs oceans for eons. They killed the God of the Sun long ago, and have been preventing his resurrection ever since.
- Parker is the God of the Moon. Heâs been trying to draw Ash out of hiding with the tides, but he hasnât been very successful. Theyâre trying to revive the Sun God, because they know heâs gonna be livid when he revives and they want to minimize the damage heâll do to the moon in his anger if they can.
- Mochi is an old ghost pirate who died from mutiny. Ghosts form from having unfinished business on earth, and Mochi has unfinished business with their old crew. Despite that crew being long gone and dead, theyâre still lurking around ships to this day, finding the trouble makers of them and ending their lives, trying to revive themselves through them (which is a process Iâll try to explain when itâs more coherent in my brain lol)
- Takeover is a sea witch. Kinda like Ursula in a way, but sheâs more so trying to study the gods than she is getting revenge or anything. She lives in a cave somewhat far from the college students, and sheâs been living there since the witch trials. Sheâs been keeping herself alive with alchemy alone.
- Minty is a siren. Their song only works underwater, and the fish they catch are hardly enough to feed them. They have a deal with Takeover where they get her rare ingredients in exchange for her giving them those who donât honor their deals with her. Both are major recluses shunned from their societies for their oddities. Minty already knows all there is to about the Gods (for the most part), and really only has that deal with takeover to help prevent the Sun Godâs resurgence. They donât mind starving if they have to, they just donât want his reign of terror to return
- Beta is a wind/water nymph. It was the first favorite that the Sun God had. In the early days, he wanted to find earthly life to bring back to the sun because he was fascinated by the idea of mortals. Beta, being a wind nymph of hydrogen, was one of the few living beings who would be able to live on the sun. He was relentless in his pursuit, and in a desperate attempt to flee him, Beta prayed to the other gods. Ash, being the one to hear, was drawn off their cold planet and turned Beta into rain. Ash did this several times with more wind nymphs, but Beta has essentially been trapped in water and wind for eons because of this. The only thing that can free it is if it senses the Sun God awakening. When that happens, itâll take all the control over hydrogen that it can to snuff out the sun for good
(Gods are essentially tied to the planet, kinda like gems in Steven universe. Killing their physical form is temporary and only delays any direct action theyâll take, but destroying their source will kill them permanently).
And thatâs what I got for characters so far. Iâll explain some of the magic better when I have a better idea of how to explain it that makes sense lmao
