My afghan parents today have been keeping up with the news, glued to the TV anticipating the next tragic headline. And you know what, I haven’t seen them shed a tear. The way afghans have been conditioned to war, tragedy, violence, and abandonment is telling. Again, my parents haven’t shed a single tear watching their beloved motherland fall right into the hands of terrorist, while the rest of the world remains silent. Think about how much tragedy and trauma one has endured to silently witness the most gut wrenching moment of your country’s history. It’s telling.
