Ladynoir in Bug Noire's design:

I need a break writing other posts so let's talk about a detaile I appreciate so freaking much about Bug Noire’s design:

This entire design SCREAMS how much Marinette wished Chat Noir were with her right now and how much she needed him (which she absolutely did, she fucking LOST.)

Chat Noir is with her as the legs that carry her, the shoulders and arms that support and steady her.

In her eyes while she keeps wearing her normal mask, so that when Monarque looks her in the eyes he not only sees her as Ladybug she's also pircing him with every eye-contact with one of Chat Noir's most distinguishing featurs: his green non-human eyes. And it's noteworthy that here it's of crucial importance that her mask and eyes do NOT combine the two miraculous as the rest of her outfit does. Cause now every time Gabriel looks in her eyes she's making him ackowledge them as seperate individuals.

Marinette is not just standing here as Bug Noire for herself, she's also representing her partner who she lost to Gabriel and wants to get back:

Which - if I may point out - is extremely relevant in this fight because Marinette just saw how badly Gabriel treated Nathalie who then met her end right in front of Marinette because she sacrificed her life and health to help him as Mayura:

Ladybug and Hawkmoth BOTH lost their partners that day but only ONE of them honored hers in this last battle because Marinette ackowledges that she wouldnt have gotten this far without Chat Noir, meanwhile Gabriel in the end basically completely disregarded Nathalie and everything she ever did for him.

But let's continue.

Chat's in her ears that have his green all around on its borders because she most likely can hardly imagine him without his extra ears on his head (Mister Bug being the only rare exception), and then topped it off with a hair style reminding of her Lady Noire hair.

And in the weapons she fought with. Bug Noire fought so much more with Chat's baton than with her own yo-yo which she also colored exclusively in his colors while only changing the footprint color to her red. The yoyo accurately represents Chat's colors (mainly black) while for the baton the main colore should have ben red to represent her suit (but I get why they didnt to that. Not only is she here wearing her suit and red as her main color, it also wouldnt have fit very well overall)

And the weapon with which she hit the butterfly miraculous off of Gabriel was the baton too. The fight choreography took so much care to have Marinette include Chat's baton and cataclysm as much as possible. She didn't just wore both of the miraculous, she fought for the BOTH of them. Using Chat's things so often because thats all she has left of him right now and incorporating him so crucially into her suit design that it's heartbreaking. She literally projected the support Chat gives her onto her suit design because she wished so BADLY that he was by her side right now.

Miraculous movie spoilers!

I've been watching the show since season 1 and I absolutely ADORED the movie!!!!! It was soooo good! It was wierd that Marinette's singing va sounded so different than her talking va, but besides that it was amazing!!!! We got to see Gabriel genuinely wanting to mend things, even if he's still hiding Emilie from Adrien. Ladybug and Cat Noir know each other's identities already??? This is the kind of fan service I've always wanted. A happy(for now) ending!

Ps. I've watched up to season 5 episode 9 or so of the series, any ideas where I can watch it for free without getting viruses or inappropriate ads?😅

365 DC Comics Paper Cut-Out SuperHeroes - One Hero, Every Day, All Year…

November 16th - Hawkgirl

The heroine known as Hawkgirl (sometimes Hawkwoman) has a rather complex backstory, convoluted my multiple retcons.  Shiera Sanders was the first to use the name during the Golden Age, although Katar Hol’s wife Shayera Hol from the planet Thanagar used it during the Silver Age before choosing the name of Hawkwoman. Kendra Saunders would later take the name. 

Kendra was originally born as Chay-Ara, the wife and princess to the ancient Egyptian prince named Khufu. One night, Khufu and Chay-Ara discovered a Thanagarian ship that had landed on Earth. The ship was composed of the mysterious Nth Metal. Exposure to this metal caused Chay-Ara and Khufu to enter into a cycle of endless reincarnation throughout time and space.  The pair would return time and again, resurrected countless times and gradually becoming aware of their past experiences and memories.  

The Gold Age Hawkgirl fought as a member of The Justice Society; whereas the Silver Age version has been a member of The Justice League; the Kendra Saunders version has been a member of both the modern iterations of the Justice League and Justice Society; and the Shayera Hol version was a founding member of the Justice League in the DC Animated Universe.  

All of the heroines have utilized a winged harness composed of cosmic Nth Metal that enables high speed flight.  Hawkgirl is additionally armed with a powerful mace also made from Nth Metal.  

A version of Hawkgirl appeared in the television series Smallville portrayed by actress Sahar Biniaz; another version appears in the television series The Flash as well as the show Legends of Tomorrow portrayed by Ciara Renée.  

The Golden Age Hawkgirl first appeared in Flash Comics #1 (1940); The Silver Age Hawkgirl first appeared in The Brave and The Bold #34 (1961); whereas the Kendra Saunders version first appeared in JSA Secret Files and Origins #1 (1999).

Agreed. The JL TAS hawkgirl is far superior. I like that we got to see Shayera Hol again in the new green lantern movie. I hope they'll go with Shayera for a live action version of her. I just think she's neat!

AU where the JLA knew the first Robin and knew Nightwing but never really. Connected the dots.

Clark and Diana know Nightwing = first Robin = Dick Grayson, and Barry knows Dick as Wally's friend, the first Robin as Wally's old teammate, and Nightwing as the dude Wally sometimes gushes about. No he does not know they're one and the same.

In his Robin days, when Bruce revealed his identity, he asked Dick if he wanted his identity to be revealed too. The answer was a firm no thank you.

When Dick was asked if he was Robin, he pinned the asker with a deadpan look and a, "do you really think Bruce would let his own kid go out in that costume? The best I'm allowed to do is man the comms."

Most of the JLA have no idea where Robin came from and are too afraid to ask.

Dick thinks that everyone who needs to know who he is already does—he has his own friends, thank you very much, he doesn't need his dad's friends getting in his business.

So anyway JLA goes to Bludhaven to recruit Nightwing. Dick looks Oliver dead in the eyes, calls him Uncle Ollie, and tells them in no uncertain terms to get the fuck out of his city.

Oliver goes pale, and once they get to the Watchtower, pulls Batman away like "what the fuck what the fuck what the fuck WHAT THE FUCK BRUCE IS THAT DICKIE???"

"He's going through his rebellious phase."

"IN FUCKING BLUDHAVEN? BRUCE I SWEAR TO GOD GO TALK TO YOUR KID OR I'M SIGNING HIS ADOPTION PAPERS MYSELF."

Bruce knows Dick would agree if only to piss him off so he drafts a hand-written letter and sends it. It's basically him apologizing and begging Dick to even consider visiting and to also not let Oliver adopt him because Bruce has had the papers filled for almost a decade now if Dick wants that?

Dick thinks it's the funniest shit and agrees to come home for holidays and a weekend a month if Bruce is civil so he's in Gotham when Bruce comes home with Jason.

Dick loves Jason immediately and demands Jason’s allowed to visit him one weekend a month.

Jason outright preens under Dick's attention so Bruce can't say no without looking like an asshole.

Dick gives Jason Robin after a few months, and the JLA are puzzled to see a new kid wearing the Robin suit.

"Who are you?"

The new Robin gives them a blank look. "Nonya fuckin' business."

Oliver's biting back laughter because that's the same little kid that begged him to read Pride and Prejudice to him when he spent the night in Star.

They ask Dick if Robin is his new little brother.

Dick looks at them with his age-old deadpan "you're an idiot" look. "Even if Bruce was negligent enough to let him be Robin, do you think I'd let him?"

Tim's even WORSE. Jason doesn't die or anything—he just feels his new ten-year-old genius little brother should be Robin with him and Dick agrees.

I can't emphasize how little control Bruce has over Jason and Tim because they just run to Babs or Dick when he's being annoying.

Tim showed up saying he wants to live with them because his parents won't notice and he knows Batman's identity and hasn't told anyone.

Dick and Jason decide to keep him right then and there.

Tim's quiet, wide-eyed, pale and incredibly small. Half of the JLA think they're hallucinating this new kid because he's literally just a little shadow.

Batman, Nightwing and Robin the elder only acknowledge him directly in soft tones or to direct him, and he never answers verbally—only nods.

Clark and Diana, who know full well that it's Tim under the mask because they were told once it happened, "Hey, is Batman your dad?"

The new Robin stares up at them with creepy white lenses. "He picked me off the streets."

They've learnt not to ask Dick. Jason doesn't answer them. Tim looks like a frail Victorian child and they're scared to ask.

It doesn't help that Tim redesigned the Robin costume so it has pants and the colors are a bit more muted. He disappears for six months (Lady Shiva) and comes back scarily efficient with a bo staff (one that has fucking retractable blades on each end)

Cass is a wraith of a child; small, skinny, never talks, silent footsteps.

Black Bat shows up on patrols sometimes, when she feels like it. The JLA are half sure she's an urban legend.

They don't even bother asking whether Cass is Black Bat.

Oliver's mildly frightened of her, but Cass adores Dinah and barely looks his way so they get along fine.

Dick's endlessly amused by all of this, and has never been happier to have siblings.

Bruce is honestly just happy to have his family together and in one place.

And then Damian shows up.

Batman: *alert, expression grave* We have an emergency.

Superman: *springing into action* Let’s go, you can tell me the details on the way –

Batman: It’s me. I’m the emergency.

Superman: *frowning, examining Batman with x-ray vision* No broken bones, no internal bleeding… what’s wrong?

Batman: I think I’m drunk.

Superman:

Superman: You don’t drink.

Batman: I had canned coffee. From the pantry. There’s crateloads of them.

Superman: *remembering Flash’s newest concoction* Oh

Batman: At first I thought I was just being affected by the sugar.

Superman: *remembering Flash mentioning that he had them specially made for his high metabolism* Oh no

Batman: You know I don’t consume much sugar, Clark. I’m not used to it. I thought it was The Sugar Rush™

Superman: How much did you drink?

Batman: I’d already drunk two cans when I read the fine print. I –

Batman: *clutching Superman’s shoulder, carefully enunciating* I imbibed two whole cans, Clark. Of metahuman-grade Irish Coffee.

Superman: *supporting Batman’s free arm, keeping him from acquainting his face with the floor* Oh no

Batman: I feel strange. I made small talk in the cafeteria. I might’ve cracked a joke at some point. I almost told Green Lantern he did a good job on the last mission.

Superman: Wow

Batman: But he didn’t do a good job, Clark.

Superman: *lips pursed, corners twitching* Mhm

Batman: My mental faculties have been compromised. I feel… bubbly.

Superman: *controlling his breathing*

Batman: I cannot be seen bubbly, Clark. I’m Batman.

Superman: *shoulders shaking, eyes glistening*

Batman: You need to get me out of here before I run around the cafeteria complimenting everyone.

Superman: Okay, just – give me a sec –

Superman: *sniffling* I’m memorizing every detail of this conversation so I can replay it forever

Superman: *flies in with Batman in a bridal lift*

Batkids: !!!!!!!!!

Nightwing: We received his emergency alert –

Red Hood: What the fuck happened –?

Nightwing: – he wasn’t responding –

Robin: Is Father conscious –?

Red Robin: I’m getting Alfred –

Superman: GUYS, guys, calm down

Superman: *puts Batman down on his feet* B’s just drunk.

Batman: *stands straight, dusts his shoulders, opens his arms*

Batman: Daddy’s home.

Nightwing:

Robin:

Red Robin: Okay, pause everything, I’m getting a camera *runs off*

Red Hood: *unblinking* Is this real

Batman: How are you boys this fine evenin’?

Robin: It’s 4 AM

Nightwing: Why is he speaking with a southern accent?

Superman: He’s been cycling through accents since liftoff. No idea why.

Red Robin: *returning with an 8K camera in hand* BEHOLD, the reclusive Gotham Bat in his natural habitat…

Batman: *staring at the lens, hands lifting his cape open at shoulder-height*

Batman: *fangs bared* I bid you velcome.

Red Hood: *still unblinking, unmoving* This is the best day of my entire life

I'm just sayin' DC vs Vampires would've been 200% better if Wally had just been following Vampire King Dick around the entire time as an incorporeal living energy construct/speedforce ghost. He wouldn't be able to do anything but he could relentlessly mock Dick and that? That's a life worth living.

It'd just be 20 issues of Dick trying to lie, have serious moments, be romantic, ect, all with Wally in the background trying his very best to be a one man comedy act.

I'm imagining Dick stealthily stalking some prey and Wally, bright glowing yellow Wally, pops out and just starts pointing at him shouting "YO OLLIE, HE'S RIGHT HERE! TAKE THE SHOT! TAKE THE SHOT!!!"

Dick keeps asking Wally to come back.... so that he can murder him again. Wally theoretically could come back, he's just doing way more damage like this so he's choosing not to.
