Hey, as a Scotsman who grew up speaking Scots (the language you're using in your tags) I'd like to give my opinion on this.

It seems like you're just aestheticising a language you have no real understanding about the cultural history of. If you understood the cultural history behind this language and how it's still treated today, you would understand that boiling it down to an aesthetic while people who natively speak the language are harassed or spoken down to for speaking it is insensitive. — And also while young Scottish people aren't being allowed to be fully literate in it either!

You're also incorrectly using common sayings within the language, which further proves your misunderstanding and lack of care for it as a language outside of the character you like.

You can appreciate a Scottish character without misusing Scots sayings, you can appreciate a Scottish character without treating our language as an aesthetic.

If you're genuinely interested in the language, consider learning it outside of your character if you haven't already, and support the creation of more media in Scots.

Using an unrelated groups as a "gotcha" for ideologies you don't agree with is in poor taste.

Think of it more like discovering a base line for how you're supposed to interact or treat one's symptoms (or lack thereof in endogenic cases). An example that comes to mind, which I can personally speak on, is IIH. IIH can very often resemble a brain tumour, however the treatment for these disorders are VERY different. (Although can and do have some overlap)

It'd be just incorrect for doctors, and the people around me to offer me treatment for a brain tumour when in reality my symptoms have a different underlying cause that needs to be addressed differently, especially when we now KNOW the cause.

Folks with CDDs and plurals are in the same vein. When I interact with folks with CDDs, I am mindful of how I do so because of the reasoning behind why the disorder presents the way that it does, and I offer advice (when asked for) based on that fact. Me offering the same advice or giving the same treatment to someone who claims to be plural because of spiritual reasons would just be wrong and incorrect of me. It would actively invalidate their lived experiences, invalidate the reason behind their being, and it would show a level of fundamental misunderstanding of their lived experiences.

While I may not agree with the endogenic community as a whole and a lot of their ideologies, I don't disagree with the experiences these people are having.

If you don't wish to share a foundation of your lived experiences, that's okay, you don't have to, but don't expect people to have a fundamental understanding of how to treat or interact with you correctly if that's the case.

The pride event I went to quite literally ENCOURAGED people to bring their allies and, after having a very heartfelt moment about how we're usually the minority but were the majority in that room, they took a moment to appreciate the allies in the room.
