I literally have to stop myself from consuming to much Rick and Morty content cause I get too excited I feel nauseous. Especially when the new season comes out I get so excited I can’t sleep
they are holding hands in the new merch...
I've seen people talking as if Evil Morty found peace or happiness outside of the curve, and that's why it made no sense for him to come back and hang out with Rick. I'm a bit confused about this because we've known this wasn't the case since Unmortricken. It would've been good if we had another episode about Evil Morty before S9E1 to show us how he's doing, but that line in Unmortricken still makes it clear that he's not happy. "How's it feel? Better? No? Exactly the same? Yeah, it always does." Evil Morty escaped, but he didn't heal. Everything he's been through still happened and still affects him, and I'm not a professional in mental health or anything, but I doubt that spending the rest of his life in isolation (especially considering that he's 14) will make things much better for him
It's funny how he can just do this, no explenation simply science apparently
Make him cry more!!
Like a lot of people, I was initially put off by the concept of Evil Morty hanging out with C-137 Rick, but it made perfect sense when I thought about his past. Real-life abuse survivors tend to relive their trauma in various ways, subconsciously thinking that this gives them control over the situation. If grown adults do that, a 14-year-old boy who's committed atrocities has no chance of escaping the cycle.
He thought he wanted to get away from Rick, but what he really wanted was a loving family. Leaving the Curve left him more alone than ever, so he started forcing C-137 Rick to take him on adventures. He told himself that he was just being practical. But deep down, he was reliving the past that he had with his previous Rick, hoping that he'd get it right this time. Hoping that he'd stay in control, get his revenge AND convince Rick to be the supportive grandfather that he wanted.
Of course, holding Rick's family hostage isn't exactly a good basis for a relationship, and the whole plot blew up in his face. Still, his adventures with C-137 Rick probably made him feel more alive than he had in ages.
Also, it's crazy that they basically had a "secret" show running in the background. I wish we could've seen more episodes of Rick and Evil Morty, but I guess that's what happens when the writers steer away from serialization.
so... I'm back ? For real... With a Evil Morty art
