I want to say this again. Do not report a blog unless they are actually doing something super bad. You have no idea how much that blog could be helping someone. It may be their only place to vent. If you are upset by their content or worried for them message them. Actually talk to them instead of reporting them first because if their blog gets terminated it could make them worse

my reasons why
ok im making a list of all the reasons i want to be skinny to look back on when i want to binge/make bad decisions
- to be comfortable and confident in my body
- to prove that I can do it to everyone who thinks I’m chasing some unattainable goal
- to wear whatever i want and not plan my outfit according to bloating
- to wear a swimsuit and be confident in it
- to not feel like a whale around my next bf/gf
- to not have thigh/back fat chafing when i run
- to not have my family/friends make comments whenever i eat anything
- to feel like i deserve to teach fitness classes and teach nutrition at uni
- to like what i see in the mirror
- to be able to eat what i want sometimes and not have it ruin the day
- to enjoy moments and events without being hyperfocused on my body
- to see my collarbones/ribs/spine/sternum/cheekbones/jawline
- to feel light and delicate
- to sit in people’s lap/have people pick me up and say how light i am
- to be thinner than my sister
- to be thinner than my best friend
- to run without this extra weight jiggling and slowing me down
- to be desired and envied instead of pitied
- to wear other people’s clothes without worrying if it will fit
- to visit friends/family i haven’t seen in a while and them to notice my weight loss
if i think of more ill add them, this is just my list and not meant to trigger/offend anyone!!
Reasons to lose WEIGHT
SO he can pick me up
SO I can feel good about myself
SO I can have cheat days
SO I can wear tiny clothes
SO I can post thinspo pics
SO I can feel confident at the beach
SO I don’t have to suck it in
SO I can get a belly piercing
SO my thighs don’t rub together
SO i can look delicate
SO I CAN BE SKINNY
Rant about the ‘not like other girls’ thing
I hate how I’m so scared of looking ‘basic’ that I won’t buy something really cute that I like, just because it’s similar to what lots of girls wear.
I hate how as girls we seem to be so conditioned to be ‘I’m not like other girls’ and I could go on a whole rant about how society conditions us to subconsciously feel that it is degrading to be like other girls, even though other girls are all incredible, unique, smart, beautiful talented individuals, regardless of what they are wearing.
I hate how I automatically judge shops like Brandy Melville for being ‘basic’, although I very much LOATHE them and similar shops which have a one-size policy because it is only inclusive of a tiny fraction of teenaged girls and in my opinion only caters to bodies which are pretty much pre-pubescent - while I respect that for teenage girls who often struggle to find clothes which are small enough and with the right proportions to fit them shops selling things specifically designed for them must be amazing, surely the solution would be to create a clothing chain that caters to all sizes, including those towards BOTH ends of the sizing spectrum? I think that there is definitely a market for that.
Side rant because ADD: I’m currently a little annoyed (actually quite a lot annoyed) with a shop called Subdued because, while they do have a sizing system, this system is either one size (for things like belts etc) or in sizes UK 6, 8 and 10. I am a UK size Small (8-10, almost always a ladies 8 on top, about a 50/50 split on the bottom) and their size 10 fits me perfectly. I SHOULD NOT BE THE BIGGEST SIZE IN A SHOP!!! Especially a shop whose market base is teenagers! My BMI comes up as healthy (even to the left of centre!), so a shop which has me fitting the biggest size cannot possibly cater to the majority of teenage girls!!
Anyway the point of this is to say that I personally, along with many girls in general, need to work together and inside ourselves to actively try to dismantle the ‘not like other girls’ complex (which I definitely have), so that we can create a society with much less judgement (both of people who dress more ‘basic’ and of people who stand out) where we can feel free to dress ourselves how we please (the rant about how girls tend to cover up to feel safer around men is another one I’ve definitely got cooking).
If anyone reading this (optimistically assuming anyone does), please feel free to drop tips for how we (and I) can work on doing this! If you’ve read this far, thank you so much! (now please return to whatever you’re procrastinating, in my case maths homework)
