The reason why we don’t see block lists of people interacting with white supremacist & pedophilia content blogs, and the blogs of known predators (e.g. people most likely to doxx or stalk other users or sexually exploit them), but constantly see them of things like “aphobes, exclusionists, transmeds, and terfs” is because it is *actually scary* to put yourself in the crossfire of genuinely violent people, and not so much with women and lgbt people that are just mean or disagreeable. You can feel like you’re doing something without any real risk besides an uptick in drama and maybe a couple anons. It’s taking out your aggression on a safe target. It also does the work of signaling that you yourself are not one of the disagreeable women or lgbt people in hopes some rando doesn’t eventually make a list with you on it. It would be all too easy for them to do, considering you yourself are not actually threatening.
