gravestone
"So this is the one."
It was a family gravestone, a few wooden grave markers sticking out of the ground around it. While other gravestones in the cemetery gleamed and many were dotted with flowers left over from obon visits, this one showed no signs of a recent family visit.
The kanji for Shirakumo was engraved in the stone.
"Yep." Shouta put the pail of water down and pointed out one of the wooden sotoba. "And this is your gravestone."
Kurogiri stepped closer to look at the sotoba, reading the posthumous names written on them. "Not mine," he corrected. "Almost mine, and yet not."
He was like a ghost, wearing the UA summer uniform, his cloud hair wavering in the breeze, and with blue eyes that were straight out of old memories. His matching urn was just under the gravestone, and Shouta wanted to pull it out from under there and remove Oboro's sotoba, since clearly his old friend was right here and didn't need what was reserved for the dead.
"Would you like to clean the gravestone with me?" Shouta asked instead, pulling a cleaning rag from his pocket to offer to Kurogiri.
