Pride is a Protest 2016, varnished popped balloons on 30 x 80 stretched canvas.

In solidarity with the victims and their friends and families affected by the shooting at Orlando’s Pulse club last Sunday.

There are still 76+ countries in the world with anti-gay laws where the concept of LGBT people coming together could have you arrested or killed by the state.  The USA is not one of them, neither the UK and whilst myself and my friends have all been on the receiving end of homophobia, a tragedy on this scale in a Western country is something I could never have imagined would happen.

These are the faces behind the headlines, rest in peace.
