my guilty pleasure is that i really like domestic hannigram :((((( i know their whole dynamic is like “we are horrible for each other but we are worse apart” and all the murder and such but…….. i really really enjoy them as two old guys who bicker a lot….. im sorry…..

anyways, here is my interpretation of domestic hannigram (post fall):

⤷ cooking together. will cooking more than hannibal because hannibal is getting old, he is injured and needs meals that aren't so elaborate and complicated. he needs comfort food. to him, it's the food that will cooks.

⤷ massages. will and hannibal taking turns to massage each other. sometimes it turns sexual. when it doesn't, it ends up with their limbs entangled, and falling asleep together.

⤷ adopting stray dogs together. no further elaboration required.

⤷ going on "hunts" together. that, is their definition of domesticity.

⤷ going on fishing trips together. their dogs running around beside the water bodies, some of them even taking a leap in the cool water.

⤷ hannibal buying a motorcycle, but being kind of clueless about it's mechanics. will fixing it up for him. every. single. time.

domestic hannigram encapsulates their entire relationship to me because yes they have the “we are horrible for eachother but worse apart” but that just adds a whole other layer to their domesticity. their monsters can only ever be perfect for eachother not just in the hunt, but in the way their monsters are being drawn back at home- no longer violent, but contained. domesticated only for eachother. hannibal holds wills leash, will has hannibal’s. they have an intimacy in their domestic life that is deeper because they see the monster, but also because they know what side of the bed the other sleeps on. how the other takes the coffee. they debated on how many dogs is too much and if where they’re allowed in the house. domestic hannigram means falling asleep- the most vulnerable a person can be- knowing that they’re laying next to another monster but choosing too because they love it, and love eachother. even if that comes with bickering over their grocery lists or going to the opera
