my favourite animal groups are arthropods, molluscs and fish
I also draw creatures and sometimes write descriptions for them. I have a devaintart with much better and longer descriptions but I haven't updated it in a while
I like to post obscure and interesting invertebrates on a (sometimes) daily basis and give them silly little descriptions. to see all of them just search the tag #invertebrates. there are more specific tags like #worms, #diptera or #parasitic but those aren't very consistent
you can send me asks about anything, but please know that I will not respond to asks on donations
links to many things. check them outÂĄ

you may know of red velvet cakes, or even yellow velvet cakes, but have you heard of blue velvet cakes?? this slug is the only person who knows how to make them, and they are so sweet and crisp they'll make your tummy hurt and your genitals fall off
he hasn't said anything about how he discovered the recipe, but we all know it has to do with why his left tail is longer than his right

it's like the underwater counterpart of a hammerhead flatworm!
DIGITAL DOWNLOAD VERSION!!! A physical version will also be available for preorder!
This book contains only 41 monsters as a "preview" best
196 PAGE DIGITAL PDF, PHYSICAL VERSION TO COME! This is identical to the Mortasheen core rulebook EXCEPT it cuts the monster bestiary down from 170+ monsters to just 41, and it's exactly half the price.
If you get this and then decide you want all the monsters, you can get all of them in Bestiary Zero, digital version buyable here. Together the two books equal both the content and cost of the core book! I just split it into two! Reblogs and boosts of this also help me a lot, whether or not you're getting a copy or already did.
If you don't know what Mortasheen is but your interest is piqued:
Mortasheen is a "monster catching" pulpy sci-fi horror setting I've expanded for over 20 years, having designed and drawn over a thousand monsters for it and counting.
This book contains a complete original gameplay system developed for over 10 years by Morgan Mullins, tons of additional and refined mechanics by @gutsygills, loads of my own artwork plus guest art, player character biotypes, NPC characters, environments, story, worldbuilding, a villain faction and more stuff that might also be cool and fun for some people whether or not they'll ever play the game or play tabletop games at all. I spent 5 years just putting the book itself together, stuffing it with every detail I possibly could.
A few of the monsters that ARE included in this "budget" version:
It's painful to cut any of them, let alone most of them, but I carefully considered which 41 to keep for a diverse enough preview sample that can still populate a campaign without spoiling the biggest surprises of the full selection. At least one monster is included for all but two of the 15 current monster classes, and all members of the Demishade class are featured, since they're all viable as player "starters!"
really hope I didn't make many mistakes translating this lol
Don't think I could catch their speech characteristics in English that well, but eh, still, it's good enough :p
this mouse ain't mousing around for no micey mice, for he is not a mouser nor a mauser, only a mousily drinker of musseux mousses!
his sometimes-colourful coat of mousy setae shines with a very pretty shade of olo, just like real mice, but your eyes can't process it so it ends up looking like your average iridescent frizz

hard stilts and an even harder headed attitude await those who meet this kooky coral!
her eye catching silly stilts keep her from sinking into the seafloor, which she likes because she thinks she's better than all the 'lowly burrowers and mud eaters'
she doesn't know that soon the seafloor will engulf her too
this tiny faced slop eater just learned about printers, and is now printing lots and lots of pictures of his friends and family and anything he likes on the internet!
he doesn't have that much storage space so he'll have to store them in unsafe places like his boss's house and his organs. not like that's going to stop him any time soon though
scanned in some silver dollar and pipefish derived fishies from the sketchbook and added some colour, I figured these would make fun stickers with a holo effect if people were interested! đ
deleted the isopod army post because I don't like how many notes it has when I used the images without knowing who the photographer was and without seeing if they were fine with having their images used
dirhinus texana is a very active member in her local archaeology community. she has some very sturdy horns, and with them she has dug up many a historical artifact and a couple of fly pupae
her horns also double as blunt weapons, and are very good at repelling the horrors that come when uncovering ancient objects

I saw a wasp in the same genus today and it was really cool
you are alive on a planet with insects and whales and diatoms and mycelium networks and puppies and your human friends. literally so awesome to be a living thing
