What are you most proud of with your writing process?

I have always had a little trouble with writing, and it seemed no matter how hard I tried my writing didn't improve. Getting to post on tumblr every week has helped me to be confident and comfortable. I am able to look back at some of the assignments I have completed before this class and now after. I have found it beneficial to break the assignment up into sections, and then tackle one section at a time so it's less overwhelming. I see some of the improvement that I have already made so far, and how I can continue to make improvements for the future.

I also have always struggled a bit with my writing. I have never really been comfortable with my ability as a writer which makes my confidence in my abilities go down. Having to do the tumblr posts and all of the other writing assignments has helped me gain more confidence in my writing. I have been able to see a vast improvement in my writing when I look back at papers I have written before this class versus what my writing has looked like this semester.

What are you most proud of with your writing process?

One thing that I am most proud of with my writing process is my ability to put my thoughts into words and convey my point affectively. I feel that the initial stage of my writing process, where I am just writing all of the information down and trying to convey my point across for the first draft, tends to go very well. I am able to make a good first draft that creates a solid starting point to revise and edit so that I do not have to make too many drastic changes or additions to my paper and can just focus on strengthening the information that I have from the initial draft. I think that this is a useful skill because being able to write a decent first draft makes the revision and editing steps of the writing process much easier, making the whole process easier overall.

I think that being able to convey your thoughts effectively is a good thing to be proud of in your writing process. For me, properly turning my thoughts into words is something that I struggle with. I am able to come up with a lot of ideas before I start to write, but once I start writing I lose all of the thoughts that I had previously come up with. Not being able to do this is something that hinders my writing process and makes writing papers much more difficult for me.

What do you like the most about your responses to the interview questions?

One thing that I like the most about my responses to the interview questions is that they made me feel more confident about my writing. Being able to use my past writing projects as answers and a basis for my Content Learning Final has made me feel better about past things that I wrote. By looking through my past assignments and writing these assignments, it has become more clear to me how much I have learned and how much this class has helped me to develop my writing skills.

What do you like most about your learning? 

One thing that I like most about my learning is that I learned how to address a specific audience. I learned how the tone that you use when you are writing should change depending on who the target audience of your writing is. I like this because this is something that helped me to succeed in this web writing course and because this is something that will help me succeed for the rest of my college career and in my future career. I believe that this is a valuable skill to have and is important to consider when writing any piece of content in any setting.

What are you most proud of with your writing process?

One part of my writing process that I am most proud of is the revision part of my writing. After having done a lot of drafts for this class I have gotten a lot of practice proofreading and editing my writing in order to make it better. In the future classes that I plan on taking, writing is going to be a very prominent aspect of the coursework, so having a good revision process is important. This class has given me a lot more confidence in the revision stage of my writing process that I can apply to all of my future assignments in my future classes.

One of my biggest problems when I am writing is that I cannot bring myself to stay focused on the assignment and I end up putting the assignment off until the last minute, making the assignment much harder and adding more stress. What advice do you have for someone in order to help them stop procrastinating and focus on their assignments?

Peer Feedback Request

One thing that I received feedback on was that I should add images of posts by the content creators to back up what I talk about in the background sections of my paper. I added in these images shown in the picture below to go with my descriptions of each of the accounts that I chose to study.

I chose to format this page in this way with the images and text alternating to make it more visually appealing while still having the description next to the image of the account that it describes. With this format, is it easy to tell which description goes with which image? Or is it confusing to the reader what is happening with the images and the text? Do you have any suggestions on how I could better format this page to make it easy to understand while also being visually appealing to the reader?

I think that the reader should be able to tell which description goes with which image. One thing that you could potentially do to make sure that the reader is able to connect the images to the descriptions is to make the images slightly smaller so they are not as close to the other descriptions.

I learned that my writing process works best when I revisit my writing after a (longer than usual) period of time. Writing weekly rather than over the course of several days helps with my burnout and breaking the project into smaller sections like we did here helped so much with my time management and organization, something I am certain will impact my work beyond this course and college in general.

I also learned that my writing process works best when I go a few days without looking at my paper. I found it much easier to find mistakes in my writing when I take a few days off without working on it. This especially helped me space out my work so I did not have too much work to do all at once.

What did you learn about your writing process that will help you after college? I've learned that my writing process thrives on a combination of structure and flexibility. Outlining before drafting keeps me focused, but I also need room for ideas to evolve as I write. I discovered that revision isn’t just fixing grammar—it’s rethinking arguments and improving flow. Feedback showed me the value of outside perspectives in providing clarity and tone. After college, I’ll continue using these strategies: start with a clear plan, write in stages, and revise deeply. Writing is iterative, and embracing that mindset will help me produce stronger, more thoughtful work in any professional setting.

I also think that outlines can be a very beneficial aspect of someone's writing process. Outlines can give you a very solid structure to start your paper and help you sort out your ideas. I also agree that there needs to be room for ideas to evolve. Outlines are just a set of guidelines, not a structure that you have to follow. I also learned that a revision is not just about fixing grammar. Revisions give you a chance to test your ideas to see what works and what doesn't.

I received feedback that my data analysis should be longer and more clearly address my research question. This is an image of my existing Data Analysis section.

Do you have any suggestions on how I could make the connection to my research question stronger throughout my analysis?

Would it be beneficial for the reader if I added a paragraph at the end of my analysis discussing an overall analysis of all of the accounts and summarizing the previous sections where I analyzed the accounts individually while connecting it all to my research question? Or would this be repetitive with the existing analysis that I currently have?

I received feedback on by draft to build a stronger conversation around the graph and my explanation of it. The below pictures show two of the graphs that I used for one of the Instagram accounts that I used and then my explanation of the two graphs after I changed it to fit the feedback that I received.

What did you learn about your writing process that will help you after college?

Something I learned about my writing process that will help me after college is that it is better to make multiple drafts of writing assignments. When I was editing my first and second drafts, I found it much easier to find minor mistakes when I was reading it again after spending a few days without looking at it. I also learned that I need to give myself more time to actually complete the assignment instead of wasting time procrastinating and putting the assignment off to the last minute. This will help me in my future after college because it will be much easier to complete an assignment when I am on less of a time constraint and can take my time to put my best effort into an assignment.

For my final revision process, I have taken both my past assignment feedback and peer review feedback into consideration to edit my past drafts. I have also made sure I have included many photos and graphs to support my conclusions, and made my final draft more organized, aesthetic, and colorful. I have been struggling with trying to organize my data and cite sources from in class to my conclusions, it has taken a while.

I am also starting my final revision process with looking into the past feedback I have received from the professor and peer review feedback. I am going to reread my paper to check for any typos and grammar mistakes and then I am going to go through and improve the organization and format of my paper by adding headings and potential subheadings, changing fonts and font sizes, and adding colors in some places.

Having a good revision process will help me to write a good resume to get a job. I am going to be a teacher so having a good revision process will be something I need to teach my students as well. A good revision process will also help me to write professional emails to employers, coworkers, and parents.
