Once upon a time a commune called Freie Cuvry (free Cuvry) was living at Cuvrystraße, a street like any other in Berlin's known quarter Kreuzberg. The only difference was that a number of people, members of the commune, occupied a quite large property against the will of its ower.

  The owner tried to get back their land on several occasions, but failed every time. Over the years the size of the commune increased as well as the number of tents and wooden barracks. The land was open for everyone who was passing by. Members of the commune were living there for the whole year, sleeping, eating, drinking, begging for any kind of alms on the pedestrian way and sometimes shitting on it. That state was lasting for a couple of years, until the summer of 2014 came.

  One night a fire broke out in one of the wooden houses, after minutes the fire service and police arrived, evacuating everyone from the scene and extinguishing a big fire. Just after this happening the scene was locked down by the police and nobody was allowed to take a step on the land. The days after a bunch of armed police squads kept anyone from getting close to the scene, at the same time a solid fence was build around it. Then bulldozers arrived and tore down everything standing in their way, from wooden barracks to the tiniest bush. After some days police and bulldozers departed, leaving a bare and naked land behind.

  The owner has got their property back and nothing happened there until today, besides one or two attacks trying to tear down the fence, which was fixed just a day after. The land is now empty, giving a clear view on both famous street art pieces, which have been there forever in my belief.

  So, what will happen here...? Well nobody seems to know yet.

  I felt like writing a short story to both photos, its 90% based on my own observations, 10% from newspapers and friends.

So this is probably my first intended shoot for an animation, but sadly the light effects are not very strong in the background. ]: I did expect more of a wow. Next "still life" will make some eyes pop.

Hunted evening pike

I found this spot when I was already on my way home from my weekend hunt. It took me a great deal of time to capture the mood I was looking for, but the result turned out to be pretty neat. +1 into exposure control. Woop.
