Merry Christmas, everybody!!!

This is Willie in his new Christmas knit. I always made him a new dog cowl he could wear as his every day scarf for Christmas. He loved getting new knits! I had made the headpiece for my models for a different photo shoot and was surprised he let me put them on him. He did not seem to mind them at all, and I did a whole photo sesh of him wearing them. This was only a year ago. I would never have believed then that he would not be with me this year. I still can’t believe it, really. You never know what a year will bring you. So Merry Christmas to the best pal I ever had and whom I miss every single day. You were a great dog Willie and I hope the angels are knitting for you at the Rainbow Bridge.

This was my favorite part of coming home!! He was so happy to see me and I always made sure I was home by 8 so I could  take him out for his last pee of the night and get his whipped cream for him. 3 servings please. And yes, he counted.

My precious baby transitioned and is running free at the Rainbow Bridge tonight. I’m so sad, and I think I will be for a long time. I’m planning to update this page at least until the end of the year. I have plenty of pictures of him that I could run it for a few more years. So we’ll see. I would love to keep it going .

I wish I had done more with it in the past year. I wish I had knitted for him more and done more photo sessions like we used to do. But he got so tired in the last year. He couldn’t handle taking rides and then walking around to do the pictures like he used to do. I started taking them in the backyard and on the side of the house, and he loved that. I wish I had thought to do more of that sooner.

I’ll share more stories about him and some of our experiences in the days and weeks to come. Right now, I need to just think about him and about how wonderful a dog he was. He was a kinder, better human being than most people. And that’s the truth.

Thank you so much. I am incredible touched and appreciative. It’s been a difficult couple of months, and today was especially so. I’m going to miss this guy every day for the rest of my life.

Thought you would all appreciate a Willie update. I took these just a few minutes ago. How sweet is this guy? I have to help him get on his feet if he’s been laying down for a while and he barely walk around the yard right now, but he was so happy and proud to receive a new knitted cowl and to pose for pictures. He loves modeling and doing a short session on the side of the house really works for him. I’m planning a blog post with some of these pictures and more tomorrow. We are coming off the prednisone now and his chiropractic vet has offered to treat him once a week. I’ve also been instructed on some therapy to do at home for him. I’ll share that in the next post. So while this guy is having a really hard time, he’s still a precious angel and still smiling. We are doing all we can for this wonderful dog. Thank you for all the kind and supporting messages!! It really helps.?

Hey Everybody!! These are pictures of Willie from this morning. He’s on a lot of pain meds now and is having more trouble each day getting around….but he’s still the sweetest guy ever. And he still wants to pose for pictures. He knew I was in the garage doing some table top photos and sat right at the door waiting for me to bring him out for his photo sesh. So I brought him out just for a couple of minutes and took a few pictures of him sitting there with me. I’m going to give him another bath this week and knit him something new to wear for a photo session. Don’t worry. It will only be a few minutes and he will be just outside the garage. He can’t do car rides anymore. He loves to model and be the center of attention. I think it feels normal to him, and he needs what feels normal right now. We are taking things day by day and watching him closely. He eats really well and always takes his medicine. I am medicating him 4 times a day, so it’s around the clock. And he needs to go out for the bathroom every couple of hours now. It’s rough, but we are getting through it. He couldn’t get himself up yesterday afternoon so I had to get my arms under his chest and lift him up until he could get steady on his feet. It’s breaking my heart, but I’m doing my best not to get upset. I lost it some yesterday and he just looked at me like he was so sad about making me cry. This is tough on us, people. Think a kind thought for my guy. He could really use it.

Willie-what a goddamn trooper! So sad to hear he’s doing poorly. But even with the pain, his first reaction is to feel not his own pain but his human’s. Dogs are really the only angels I know, and Willie seems to have some truly big wings!

I’m going to try reblogging some pictures of Willie for you guys. I have some that I haven’t posted yet, so I’ll work on getting some stuff over here for you. Hoping for at least one more photo session with him. He loves the attention and modeling is his favorite thing. I’m going to miss those photo shoots!

This new knit pattern is going up this week! Perfect for spring. The transition between seasons is so hard to dress for, don't you think? This infinity scarf is long enough to wear doubled up as shown in the photo. Excited to be publishing this one (finally). (at Virginia Beach, Virginia)

This dude is super stylin' in his awesome new doggy cowl made special by his momma with @woolandthegang Crazy Sexy Wool. I love it too!!! Also....new camera for online photos and I'm so excited about it. I'm getting into micro 4/3s photography and loving it.
