How do you feel about switching from Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox to Microsoft Edge? Have you pondered on switching to something other than those same old ‘default’ browser? No? Well, what if you are forced to do so now? How? You know … well, what if you are to switch from the years’ old relation and make a new one just because Windows 10 want you to? Harsh, no? I mean I would never want to get out of my comfort zone not just to try but to settle for something different. I have spent so many years … googling whatever I wanted or needed to. It’s like having to marry someone your parents want and leaving you're as old as time kinda love story i.e. boyfriend/girlfriend – totally unfair. Why am I making a Huge Deal and throwing a Random Tantrum? Honestly, it isn’t at all random and it totally is a huge deal. Apparently, apart from infiltrating the windows 10 with a huge amount of unwanted ads and annoying pop-ups – the new update is rumored to be coming out with a prompt. It’s not like Microsoft has never tried to convince the user to use its own browser than installing a new one – this update would literally try to use the factor of fear. Fear, as we all know, can make living things do many things – what’s switching a browser. As per the testing – a prompt that appears when trying to download chrome or firefox is as follows; “You already have Microsoft Edge – the safer, faster browser for Windows 10.” Obviously, it can be told yes and you can continue installing whatever browser you want but – what if it has repercussions? Is this the AI technology we should be scared of maybe? I don’t know if they used it or not – I am not much of a techie but aren’t these the ways tech wars start? One of the AI’s go crazy and brings havoc to mankind. And given the history of two AI chatbots trying to converse with each other – who knows what this would bring alongside. What worries me the most is that Microsoft also tried making users try emailing by opening the email links etc. in Edge instead of any other browsers. It literally just ignored any other ‘default’ browsers from the operating system so basically, it’s acting like that rebel bird that gets the whole flock hunted. The company isn’t quite giving much out and thus no one knows for sure if it was just a beta version for testing or if the actually October update would have this new addition. Microsoft didn’t even comment or talk about it in any of its guest posts – so either it is just a test or they are literally thinking of giving the users a surprise. While the internet (check Digital TV Bundles) plays a major rine on the speed of whatever you want to do using it – browsers are important as well. It’d always stay a choice and not an enforcement.
